As you all have seen, the best thing that I can run is my mouth. It is also the cheapest thing that I can run but on the other hand it has cost me dearly many times! LOL
I'd love to see a large and diverse group of slings in Ocala for the October race!
It's almost the most fun that you can legally have with a couple hundred of your closest friends.

I would think that "Streamed Sling" would be appropriate for the units that have not simply removed factory parts but actually added purpose made parts to enhance their drag coefficient.
??????? for the Boosted Class
Stock Sling for all that are not boosted and stock in appearance.
Of course these could be broken down into sub classes of A,B,C, etc. depending on their mods.
Who knows but it is fun to dream about it! LOL

Incidentally, there are speed competition venues and events popping up all over the country, as this style of racing is currently exploding in popularity. It's a very discussed subject among the racing organizations and event announcers I roll with, and we're all mighty impressed at the upswing in this sector of motorsports.
You may well have some opportunities in your region, so if you wannagofast, give it a look!Oh, I wannagofast for sure! My mama and the local law enforcement know better than anyone that I wannagofast!
The only thing holding me back is this giant lead weight in my back pocket!!! LOL

Thanks for the feedback. Never having driven a boosted motor before, I had no idea what AFRs should be other than having read that AFR numbers around 12-13 as being most desirable and that I should worry if I see lean numbers, but that info had little detail to it. Having only driven it about 5 miles so far, with only about 1/2 mile under boost towards the end of the ride, I'm still getting accustomed and learning what it does. I hope to get the body panels & hood back on in the next couple days and then I'll take her out again.
I'm sure there will be those that comment contrary to what I am going to say but take all of it with a grain of salt!
If you changed your clutch set up when you added the SC/TC you might not want to turn off the nannies until you become comfortable with the clutch transition.
ESPECIALLY if the roads are wet!
Especially if your setting at the main red light in a small town on an uphill grade with a car close behind you with the local PD sitting on the other side. jes my .o2

Since I am new to he family here and came after the flood I didn't know the history of TDS.
I participate there semi regularly and would be glad to give anyone there a heads up.
Wonder how long it will take for me to get kicked off over there? LOL

Kenny,
There will be many things that can be handled from afar. In fact there will be many things that will have to be handled from afar. I intend to meet with @rabtech this evening if possible and I'm sure after that he will begin to form his army. There will be many battles to fight but we must concentrate on winning the war!

To match a color, order one painted part and give to your painter. A good Jobber can scan and match!
Just be sure it’s not a grill as they need about 6 square inches of solid color in order to scan.
Great advice there!
It is better to do that than it is to have a paint code. From the day a vehicle leaves the factory the paint is changing shades. Yes it's slow and no you don't normally notice it for years,,,,,,,,,,,that is until you mount a newly painted piece that was painted using the same paint code up beside that 5, 6, 7, year old piece. The rate at which the change takes place is highly dependent on how much sun and harsh light the vehicle has been exposed too. That's my story and I'm stickin to it! LOL

A quick test may also be to find someone close by that has a different afr gauge. There are ones like the AEM (30-4110) that has an o2 sensor that does not need to be caibrated. Just screw it in, plug in the connectors and tie in the power and ground and leads and you're good to go. BUT, you never want to run a heated O2 sensor (one that has a power wire that preheats the sensor) without the heated lead hooked up. That will give you false readings for sure. It's a slight PITA, but at least it will confirm that you have a true afr issue or not
That is the AFR gauge that I ended up with. It seems to be working good for now.
@BKL There is one more place to look for your bolt. If you stand straddle of the right front A arm and take your left hand and reach around the back of the motor where the thermostat housing is there is a little hole/pocket just big enough for a bolt to hide in when you drop it trying to mount a new windscreen. Don't ask me how I know, and don't ask my wife how many bad words I said over and over again when I thought I was going to have to start re-dissembling our sling to get said bolt out of the bell housing! LOL

Cool Beaners... might I suggest you make your passes so they end on the highway side vs the river there at the end of the runway
Not sure that the picture your lookin at does that runway service. It is a looooog way down from the end of the runway to the water. When you are coming in for a landing from that end of the runway it looks like you are going to crash right into the side of the wall. Not my favorite airport to fly into! LOL
-
There seems to be a lot of interest in these 1/2 mile events. I would like to remind everyone that we have an event at Gila Bend, AZ airport coming back in March.
If we want to get a group together, I think it could be a fun time. I am about 99% positive that we could beat up on those slower SE Slingshots and break into the 130s.
Ya'll be cheatin!! No humidity there. You know you can drive through dry air better than you can through rain!!!! LMAO -
