    I keep sayin it over and over like a bumbling old fool but I just cannot believe the kindness, support, friendship I see and just damn decent human beings on this forum. While I’m still in hospital @Rob the Slob and @Slingrazor have taken it upon themselves to transport my Sling the 1000+ miles to DDM IN N Carolina to have an auto transmission installed cause it appears my clutching days are behind me. To each and every one of you who has shown me kindness in so many different ways please accept my heartfelt THANK YOU and know that someday in the not to far distant future I will be looking how to pay all this kindness forward.. signed... AMAZED AT YALL !!!

Well, it seems that excess lasik can cause GOUT and I have it. The meds to cure the gout has a level 2 (I think) interaction with the mew heart drugs they put me one. After a day of back and forth the doctor decided that the small number of pills ordered SHOULD not cause any of the major risks of respiratory depression or death. So far she's right as I've finished the dosage and can still breath and type. So the nightmare continues. I'm really hoping to be close enough to cured before my birthday, but I don't think that's going to happen. But considering what could have happened, I'm happy to just be here able to read and type. Thansk again for all the support and prayers

    PS - Seriously - one of Fun’s prescriptions has carnuba wax as an ingredient. WTF???

    There is really no explanation for that maniac. I think if you look the majority of these school shootings they are young troubled males. We are all just speculating here because there is no way to explain or justify anybody massacring as many innocent people as they can. But in answer to your question - yes Vegas is pretty much forgotten just like this shooting will be in a couple weeks. Things will rock along until it happens again. Been laying here in hospital watching all the “experts” and they have not come up with one better idea than what has been voiced here. The one thing that cannot be disputed / it is near impossible to stop anyone hellbent on evil in a free society!!

    Well - other than us getting to vent @FunCycle is right - some really well made points throughout this thread but no revelations so things will die down in a few days until nothing....until it happens again. I think the single major agreement as to the problem is to how our young people are being raised. Granted most of us did not grow up in this “social media” age and I for one am just beginning to see what a problem it is becoming. I can’t imagine myself or any of my buddies back in the day eating Tide pods for any reason but these kids today do it because they believe it will make them famous. It appears to me that if you could legislate parenting that would go much further than legislating more gun control - too bad neither of these options are reasonable fixes to this huge problem.

    I’m sorry but all I hear is attacking the AR 15 and the need to ban it. I like to shoot guns but am by no means an expert. It would appear to me ( @KayTwo you could give me a good answer here) that a person with 2 automatic pistols with 16 round clips with multiple backup clips would be just as lethal as they would with an AR 15 with multiple clips - especially in close quarters like this shooting was. If anyone can tell me what law we could pass short of repealing the 2nd Amendment that could stop this bloodshed I am certainly willing to listen. I may be wrong but I cannot recall where one of these maniac mass murders broke the law obtaining their firearm of which there are plenty on the books already. This is one of the most perplexing problems we face IMO.
