What really grabbed me about the story was when he charged into the ocean in full combat gear after he saw a woman apparently drowning about 1/2 mile offshore! Turns out she was trying to kill herself and he had to overcome her resistance to his rescue efforts. Definitely a hero not hesitating when he sees someone at risk!
