Completed in 1895, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room chateau is as impressive today as it was more than a century ago. Biltmore House is truly a wonder of architecture and hospitality. As our guest, you’re invited to enjoy a self-guided tour of the house, as well as the beautiful gardens and grounds surrounding it, designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.

This is located less than an hour from Maggie Valley.

We are thinking of going one afternoon. Check out the pictures. They are AWESOME.

Post if you would like to join us on the ride.

  • In deed a neat place. Back in 1967 my college fraternity had their national convention -- 4 days -- there before it was opened for daily tours. As a member of the national staff one of my jobs was to make sure that the Biltmore Staff was well "tipped". All the staff new I was walking around passing out $20.00s so I got lots of perks.

Would be a nice visit --- one thing to remember is that there will be lots of walking and lots of stairs. Gardens are beautiful.
