Sorry to hear about your loss dangerdarrell.

Our condolences to all who are affected by this loss, and our best wishes to all who are recovering from illness. We hope for a full and speedy recovery!!!!!

How is the steering on the slingshot locked when using the dolly?

The front wheels are self centering by nature, so they track pretty good. Just for added confidence, I always thread a ratchet strap through the steering wheel and tighten the steering wheel in place. I've never had an issue with towing the Slingshot this way.

@Bigdog.....you need to replace the complete turn signal/cruise control assembly. This happened to mine some years ago. It's very easy to replace the assembly without removing the steering wheel. Takes less than 1 hour total. Once you remove the lower plastic steering column cover, you will see how the assembly can be removed from the column. It's surprisingly easy.

Update....I found a small write-up I did when I changed mine....here's the link to that thread:

FIRST 24,500 POST ARCHIVE : What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies.....? CLOSED THREAD

I bought some for mine with the information FunCycle gave me last time we met up together. Bought extras just in case they faded or fell off somehow. It's been a few years and they have not fade, or fell off, so I'm already ahead of the game!!! I did use a little clear silicone inside each cap for extra insurance not to fall off.

Wow!! Saw the video!! I agree with Tripod,,,,it sure looks like the tire went slightly off pavement just as she was getting into the gas, just at the same time she was turning even harder into the turn. Perhaps the extra wind drag on the large flags played a roll in the event. Very unfortunate and certainly not due to crazy speeds or bad driving!!!

We're so glad Tonya wasn't injured any more than she was!! She's a tough girl and will shake off a few broken ribs pretty quick!!! Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a full and speedy recovery as well!!!!!

And no worries about the Sling......a little polishing compound and she'll be right as rain!!!

I've had kev 's tow dolly for over 3 years and love it!! It's relatively easy to set up and get the Sling fastened in. We've towed our Sling to several events over 1,000 miles away and have had zero issues while towing it. I do recommend strapping the steering wheel just as an extra precaution, but it's not a requirement, as the Sling tracks nicely. Backing is not a real issue if you take your time have patience. I also love how little space the tow dolly takes up in my garage when I'm not using it. I simply tilt the tongue straight up and lean it against the wall, with blocks around each wheel. Almost no foot print that way..

Wow!! I'm late to this party, but glad to hear EjFord is doing better!! Hopefully it was just a turd caught crossways and that train got back on track and left the train yard by now!!!

Thanks for the updates Bu11sh1t !!!

EjFord ....we've got you in our thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery my friend!!!!!

my advice is use WIRED and never wireless for security unless its a simple doorbell ring. If you lose your wifi connection those wireless cameras are basically useless. Also they can be easily hacked ;) . Lol

Agree 100% I have a wired surveillance system, and separate security system for the house and garages. I supplement that with a couple of the Wyze cameras for the less important small buildings as they are dirt cheap and don't require wifi to function (record directly to SD card). You do need wifi to send files to the cloud and interface with the phone app. They fit a niche for some people with simpler needs, and very limited budgets.(also better than nothing) But a good surveillance and security system when ever possible is the best way to go for the best protection, and peace of mind.

I've purchased a few Wyze cameras recently. We have some out-buildings without electric and the Wyze cameras work well with solar set-ups. The Wyze Cam3 has a spot light option for using their spot light with it. I just received their Pan Camera and really like it too. It has pan and tilt capabilities, with the option to automatically follow and record a moving object. I also like the fact that you can insert a mini SD card and it will record directly to the card as well as to the cloud. I can configure alerts and connecting to the cameras remotely from our phones is super easy. Just another option worth a look.

    WOW!!

Sorry about your damaged trees and grounds, but really, really glad you two are safe and healthy my friend!!!!!
