Sorry guys, I feel I've let a bunch of you down, but I cant make MV or anywhere farther than the bathroom for that matter.Everything was going great at the start of the week, three new roofs and new windshield bases produced from the new molds, And I had just made a mental note to email Ivor in the morning to book the larger 40 x 20 ft spot , but what only a few knew, @kenny_h being one, I was biting off maybe a little too much trying to get a new prototype trailer done to debut next week too. It's quite a complex trailer being a dropdeck design similar to @funinthsun ,s but electric winch operated instead of air. As it was prototype I,ve had to fabricate every fitting, bushings etc by hand to prove concept so needless to say I,Ve been absent from the forums as I,ve been working in shop minimum 12 hours a day to make MV. Well , and I should have known better, complacency kills, it was going on 11 pm and I was thinking of heading home, just a few more adjustments on hoisting mechanism and next thing I know I,m tripping over rails and being flung to floor with what I thought was two broken legs! I,ve never experienced that much pain as I crawled that 50 ft to my truck and up and in to my phone. Turns out only one broken leg and the other one badly banged up with a sprained ankle. Will be off my feet for a week or so about the only thing I can do will be to watch the forum and hope your all having a great time at MV. Was looking so forward to meeting all of you in person.

I've been working on some prototypes with a customer of mine. He bought the Wycked Hitch System for the sole purpose of mounting a formula 1 style wing to the receiver. Quite a range of likes and dislikes based on individual tastes, which makes me think that we can put our thoughts together to come up with a "Wing System" that is customizeable. Mounts below rear deck (acts like a fender also) and accepts bolt on attachments to go above the deck or visa versa. You want me to send you a hitch Kevin Adams @www.ssbodykits.com ???

    @RichArlt
Nice to hear from you. I have followed your wicked hitch with amazement. YesI would very much be interested in talking further to you .

Yep, a lot feel that way too, @ron manfredi and I WERE JUST TALKING about how it might be worthwhile for me to pull one of those parts and use it as a plug and somehow modify the plate box so it slants out at bottom like @2SierraRomeo did with his lower wing , am certainly entertaining something along that line

While we have all this great designer input, toss me a response, and remember I have broad shoulders lol. this is from a response to tom n carol on the dark side.

Also @MISTERZ06 on a personal note, and anybody else please chime in. Is it just my biased opinion or does anybody else think that lower tail cone shown above , would be desirable to anybody as a filler piece between the rear deck and the tire, Should it be offered as a separate piece? To me it drastically changes the look back there which was one of my goals, as I truly believe that buck .99 license plate holder Polaris provides is the biggest source of, not really buyer remorse, but a little bit of frustration. Any thoughts?

The only way you will get good down force would be to get a spoiler high up in the clean air flow. The aerodynamics of the SS is like taking the airfoil shape of a wing and cutting off the trailing edge. To make a low spoiler function there would have to be a change of the shape from the roll hoops back to allow the air flow off the back instead of breaking up.
The Slingshade would have almost corrected for a lot of the problems.

With regards to the Slingshade @Slingrazor, I agree. Hence, this design

Nice! Send Trent some more drafting paper and Number 2 pencils!

Heh @Slingrazor I take it your name is Trent ? Until 5 months ago I didn't know any Trents, now I know two ! I,m not thinking we,re going to have to poll anybody though for which one is cuter , my first grandchild, Trent Hobson Crandall

Yah and Im reminded of that service rate sign you see on shop walls, labour $50.00 per hour , $75.00 if you help. LMAO ,,,no, seriously I appreciate the help as maybe I or someone else will be able to offer you guys some more products as a result of this type of discussion . I just had to get the Rate joke in before one of designer group discounts came in . lol

Why not tuck the plate hanging from the underside of the sling. So it shows below the wing from in front of it. Make it part of the background and not a focal point of the wing.

YAH you know a lot of custom choppers do it that way the plate hangs off to one side way in , it only has to be visible from a distance back , hell for that matter it could be way under the wing off to the left to offset the shock on the right side .

yah @Slingshot Garage that's always a good possibility too, that was the original idea wasn't it, a forward swept wing just above the deck, Oh so many damn ideas , lol well I know I,m not touching this one as far as a plug till after M.V But I appreciate learning from what you guys like , lots of good ideas out there! and Glad to see @2SierraRomeo actually showing real mods

sorry only spending about a minute live sketching gets messy , ten minutes to photo email to myself and upload lol Im liking the way @2Sierra Romeo kept plate back in I,m thinking get it back in to max and some sort of sweeping fairing up to bottom of wing and I think that's what @Slingrazor Is THINKING TOO ?

oh sorry @DKF Texas and @2SierraRomeo, I missed who,s part that actually was took me longer to photo this sketch and post it then it did to sketch it so don't look for too much detail but I,m thinking swept back towering brackets like this, now what about that plate ?

@DKF Texas this one does have me wondering, using that location, the three brackets you extended from underneath, in a new mold could be three towering pylons on top of the wing from about half way back the wing sweeping up to the lower deck mounting points and then something small below helping the pate, I do like your positioning of it the more I look at it

That really does lengthen the back end appeal, nice work ! @DKF Texas I take it from the angle of the cup, its too late to save the brush ? lol Been there, done that! I wonder , what about raising the plate up centering it with the wing centre line sweeping a fairing up to it from top and bottom of the wing , or maybe that gets the wing looking to bulky, ?

sorry @Street Doc but the thread got a little derailed here, if your talking about that new front end mentioned above its just a preliminary discussion about possibilities. if your talking our new roofs we did all our high speed testing with that bondoed up prototype two weeks ago in very crappy weather , we did plenty of cruising at 80 mph but were only able to run it up to 100 for quick short bursts on the back roads as while we have access to a cascar track here, he was consistently shut down for weather. we ran a number of miles with the wind and against the wind as they were significant each day, shimming our roof up and down 1/4 inch at a time above the frame rails , even at the hundred mph bursts the roof never lifted off the rails and had to be caught by the safety bolts we had slacked off and in place for that reason.
