I get the dumb ass award again, didn't think to get her pic, was too busy laughing, In my welding shop in thamesford Ontario last week I pulled the sling outside on main st while I was grinding inside and as usual people stop by and ask questions, well this one was memorable, a middle age ,short woman with a distinctive hairdo , nobody could miss it, was short dyed fluorescent blue with hot purple spots,.It wasn't just the hairdo , she stopped to show her Canadian friend she was trying to talk into buying a Sling, the differences in a Canadian slingshot and the one she was driving ! it was a 2016.5 red with a black Twist Dynamics top and the plate was South Carolina , I asked if she trailered that up and she said Hell no, trailers are for woosies!
I asked if she was on the forums and she said sometimes but not much but she,d been to a lot of rides etc, Does anybody know who this wild woman with the blue hair from South Carolina touring all over the place in her Slingshot was ? If you,ve ever saw her riding before you wouldn,t miss this hairdo ! She was a riot!

There are a couple circuits for fluid to travel inside the ABS module. The standard fluid path (while the ABS is not engaged) does not require anything to be energized for that path to be open, otherwise if there was an electrical failure you would lose your brake pressure, and that would be a bad thing. When the ABS is activated though, the ABS system does open up a pathway to an accumulator to release some pressure and then can also open up another pathway to the ABS pump which returns brake pressure back to the master cylinder. In order to get air out of that pathway, the ABS would need to be activated for fluid to travel that circuit. That being said though, that system returns pressure and fluid back to the master cylinder and the air should go back with any fluid and simply go into the reservoir since air is going to travel to the highest point in the system. The problem we typically have seen with the ABS module needing to be bled is that the empty 4th line that is capped off on the ABS module is the highest point on that dead leg, so even if the ABS module is activated, any air in that leg can not travel back down into the ABS module and return back to the reservoir. Also since any air in that 4th dead leg would be part of the normal brake pressure circuit, it will make the brakes feel "mushy" or soft, which is one of the complaints we often hear with the Slingshots.
That is why bleeding the dead port on the ABS module without activating the ABS works in most cases since it is the high point on that 4th dead leg, although I am sure there are going to be exceptions.Hope that helps,
DaveYes ! thanks Dave@DDMWorks, finally somebody with a lot more credibility then little ole me , confirms you can get rid of mushy brakes (most times) by bleeding that fourth port ! I once was trying to explain to somebody named blitzekr... over on the dark side, how we have been very successful in just doing a ten mph skid with the right front wheel off the pavement and in the gravel , (verses Noel,s high speed brake jamming fix) which will immediately activate your ABS , then bleeding that port , but he then reiterated with five bold lines of , YOU MUST ACTIVATE THE ABS WITH DIGITAL WRENCH , over and over again ! so I just left it at that and played dumb , but chuckled like hell when @Tripod replied to him , so lets be clear, Do I have to activate my ABS with digital wrench ?

There is a nice youtube video from Jay Leno's Garage where he meets with the owner of Vanderhall and they talk about the Venice and then take a drive in it together
I really like the Vanderhall, it seems very well thought out and from what they say it has very good performance
The one thing I can't get past is the width of the cockpit area. To me it seems way too small for two adults to ride comfortably for any length of time.
here is a link to the youtube video 2017 Vanderhall Venice - Jay Leno's Garage
And this is a screen shot grab from that same video
From what I can find on the internet Jay is 5' 10.5" inches tall and 190 pounds - so not what I would call a large man.
To me the lack of room for 2 people to really be comfortable totally overshadows all of the great design features - this thing looks more uncomfortable than last class on a discount airline.
What do you think?
Is that windshield shadow or has Jay been giving anal examinations while seated so closely ? his passenger does have that uncomfortable look about him lol

In-laws driveway... that count???
Does this mean there,s badblood with the Inlaws ?

Not rich / just got a plan / just budgeting to have fun up until I write my VERY LAST check I ever write bounces
so if you bounce a few along the way and it probably ain't gonna be your last one, does that mean your still rich ? Cause in that case, I know a few MULTI millionaires !

Great work @mytoy, I'm soon offering a fully enclosed windshield with my roofs and have considered setting up a wiper blade and motor on my demo then just recommending. the make and model for customers to save money sourcing their own. Any suggestions ?

Heh @kenny_h the production windshields are available, have you seen my other threads introducing them? Here's a few pics of one installed and one crated up waiting for a Florida address if your still interested
-
Thanks @MiM first attempts I painted one red (I know it would have made me go faster ) but then decided the textured black looked a lot better especially on the inside over the black dash wpods. Customers can choose their own however as I offer it in sandable gel coat too ( primer grey )

Not trying to derail the thread, but how is the leg doing Keven? Hope you're up and around some and almost back to normal (whatever that is)
Thanks @funinthesun for asking getting better every day . Wasnt planning on SSiTR but driving myself crazy around here and may just be what the doctor ordered. I laughed two weeks ago when the orthopedic surgeon said to me ,I want that cast off and start exercising that left leg in your lazy boy everyday by placing a towel around your ft and stretching out with all the way with toes pointed and holding for one minute and your good for 20 percent of your weight back on that leg. Then he said are you going to do the exercise its essential, or do I have to book you in for physiotherapy. I laughed like hell and said Doc you don't have to worry about me that sounds exactly like clutch pedal therapy to me, I,m outta here !Sent from my SM-G903W using Polaris Slingshot Forum mobile app

@Neosolidus and @scootertrash it s a poly carbonate, basically a Lexan . I've used it a lot in aircraft use over the years and it's always held up well as far as scratch resistance etc. We treated those and will on all production ones with some of the certified products for aircraft use, just used what i had here but am sourcing the newest best ones to treat and then included with every windshield. It's amazing how much protection it adds , water beading etc. When you drag your hand across plain carbonate it doesnt seem to be too dragging until you apply this and your hand and rags then skate right across with a hugely noticeable difference. While some manufacturers are using 1/8 I decided to stay with the 3/16 for numerous reasons. 1/8 would probably suffice but just more comfortable with 3/16 . The price may seem a little discouraging compared to other Aftermarket windshields as the base and paint work and additional labour to drill and fasten too etc. So I'm afraid were going to have to start at $ 645 assembled shipped and painted with black texture spray. I realize it's not the U.S. consumers problem but I get dinged with additional brokerage charges as well with the free shipping being a Canadian manufacturer. I spent a lot of time sourcing the proper texture spray , one that takes to the different cleaners to shine like your existing plastics. The foam gasket material is installed to prevent marring on your dash pads and as well the base of the poly carbonate where it bolts to the fiberglass base via 6 mm countersunk socket head bilts anodized black, is also painted on the inside 1 ,1/4 " where it mounts to base so no water stains will show through as any water running down inside of windshield will just drain between painted base and painted windshield. Thereby not being visible form outside of polycarbonate.
I realize most tall boy windshields run about 85 .00 cheaper but the added base and associated costs are necessary to gain the right to left arching and ten degrees more slope for the improved aerodynamics. And yes being the highest price there may have to be sale prices so twist my arms a little , just watch my legs !Sent from my SM-G903W using Tapatalk

Hi @airoutlaw I thought that joke line might get a few responses here lol surprised I haven't heard from tripod yet on that one , must be too early for him !

Nascar-styled windshields now in production ! With 10 degrees more slope and an unparalleled right to left sweeping arch, the most aerodynamically correct windshields are now available for your Sling. Cleaning up that airflow provides for increased efficiencies as well as the most comfortable, calmest ride for even the tallest occupants. Remember, happy wife, happy life ! Oh and it won't hurt having the sportyest looking aftermarket windshield either !
