thanks anyway ,yah and its not a real quick easy one to test for , I guess I could take it into Kemko auto body where Im painting a roof to send out this week to florida and load it onto one of the two Blackhawk frame racks there. Using the two tower jacks I can chain down from the top of the roll hoops and then raise the rear tire off the rack using a floorjack till shock bottoms out, was just hoping somebody else already had this info cause Im feeling a little lazy here today lol any way, thanks again

@kev unfortunately I don't have that information off the top of my head. Its a good question for anyone looking to do a fixed fender not attached to the swing arm.

@Ruptured Duck or anybody else, can you tell me the max vertical movement of the rear tire using stock shocks or qa1 for that matter , Im working on a design for a new mold to incorporate welters dual exhaust into my lower tail cone fairing and also add a fender to same mold, so Im just looking to save a little time relying on someone elses study of maximum vertical tire movement , I realize it will move forward , minimally based on swing arm radius and can account for that forward movement but how high above rear tire would a fixed fender have to be to account for maximum vertical movement of tire ?

As if we don't already have a major disaster in Texas to deal with at the moment... This asshole decides to lob a rocket over Japan! :cursing:

You ever notice how the littlest dogs dance about putting on the most viscous displays ? In the world of military mite, this pipsqueaks not even a Chihuahua , and there he is pissing in everybodys face, risking the lives of Japanese civilians as most of his low budget ww11 era missiles phiz out short of their intended range! One of these days some pitbulls gonna step in there and rip his frickin head off and it will be all over in about two seconds and nobodys even gonna miss him !! Oh except his entire population who will be freed of tyranny, dictatorship and oppression !!

Yep Buffalo Bayou is really angry right now

WOW @DKF Texas that's a little close for comfort ! Hope all those patients know how blessed they are to have people like you standing by them, your not just a new forum friend, YOUR MY HERO !!

very well done @Ruptured Duck, very well thought out, presented and researched . I,d definitely say its worth the money and install time for me !

So the exhaust would be coming out of the body panel through a cutout? That should look pretty good.

yah the exhaust centreline is right above where my panel turns almost 70 degrees up so most of their black muffler would just be a couple inches out but as my panel slopes back, more of their mufflers are shown , just enough to see the WP logo , we both thought it would look sweet. Also I recommended not painting that panel but using my texture spray black to make that panel look like part of the factory tub. cant wait to get onto this one actually! It would be sold , purchasers choice of paint .

just copied a section cause I dont even want to quote him but,
Did I go out and by someone's Fiberglass Pods so my stuff can vibrate my gut in their new plastic tombs?
NO not that lazy!! Did I blindly install a set of Sub-woofers in those cheap plastic doors behind seats like I see over and over? No made 3/4 inch plywood doors and got the original locks to fit them.

sorry, I,ve been wrongfully accussed of being a little creative now and again I guess, but try as I might ( and I,ve been thinking about it all day) I just cannot imagine how subwoofer doors made from a slab of 3/4 plywood from behind the barn could possibly make an attractive mod , but what the hell do I know ! or anybody for that matter. Imagine poor @kenny_h spending all that time to fabricate those excellent mods he has designed for his subwoofers in the baggage pod, when all he had to do was slab up a chunk of plywood ! THIS GUY HAS GOT IT ALL FIGURED OUT !! Guess I,m in the wrong business lmao. !!

What's the additional bracket on the back of the bike for?
    Steering wheel locked or unlocked?
Are those dolly wheels turning too?

yes @Bigdog as @KayTwo and @BKL suggested those are the carriers for my Givi luggage bags, while the bags fit initially they have to be removed when dollying, as they are in the way for the swivelling of the dolly tires. the brackets can remain on and just snap the removal bags back on once unloaded from the dolly.

Actually @JeffWelter and I had a very cool discussion about that at SSITR as he thought there might be some interest in that mold modified to accommodate his duals. SO I SUGGESTED , a tunnel section up the centre encapsulating his y pipe and risers then have the last three inches or so of his mufflers exiting out a cut out on either side of the plate , and at the same time I would flare out the top surround of the pate opening giving a shading like effect over the plate and blending in well with the the angled tips of his mufflers, then I though what the hell why not add at the very bottom of the riser tunnel a fender extending rearward out of that , So yah, you will see one sometime this winter maybe as soon as I RETURN FROM eureka , I,m hoping Jeff is still as enthusiastic about this and tries to entice me with a smoking deal on his duals at Eureka ! So I can tool up for that mold when I return as Winter here in Ontario wont be too far behind . ANYBODY THINKING THIS WOULD BE A GOOD COMPLIMENT TO THE WELTER EXUAUST SYSTEM , PLEASE LET JEFF KNOW ABOUT IT !

Saw a video of a guy pulling his SS around with a Modified Trike Trailer. The rear wheel went into cradle and attached to the Ball, rig had to be widened for big ass back tire so the front wheels were on ground and steering had to be locked with bungee's. He made NO accommodation forum-even surfaces and the rig would twist horribly exiting a raised parking lot onto a street. Anybody come up with something better?? There has to be a GOOD tow method without thousands$$ for a trailer.

@slingshark16 have you seen the new dolly kits offered by us at ww,ssbodykits.com ? Ater conferring with @scootertrash and @BKL who very well answered some of your concerns above, we are pleased to have put one of these swivelling tray dollies design into production, and yes the ball on the hitch does dampen most twisting tendencies when entering uneven parking lots etc. if you happen to be going to Eureka Springs Ozark Invasion next month Im told by @scootertrash you will see at lest four of his Indy club guys there towing with these designs and yes they have accumulated thousands of miles , incident free with these dollies, heres one of mine you can view at my thread, first vendor to offer tow dollies, you,ll find it in active topics today or yesterday.

yah and there's some new dollies available from some dude who doesn't know when to shut up either wwwssbodykits.com. it's an epidemic !

well i wish I could say we've lowered the price substantially but we can't.what we have done is lowered the price $ 50 across the board Tthen we broke out shipping and crating because a few people have asked to pick them up here. So that is the new base price, does not include shipping or the expensive crate $75 for shipping . We then applied our August sale price of 15 percent of all ssbodykits.com products . So for the next week or two or three as long as you contact me before Sept 1 the dollies are 15 percent off. Also my demo is on sale , open to offers !! As I dont have any need for it as I have my new hydraulic trailer and I would like to build asap the first production version of the dolly kit and have it in stock to ship right away upon ordering and just keep inventory ing one new dolly kit at all times . Any body can pm me with an offer on that demo. It's going to go !

thanks@kaytwo and I appreciate that the costs of manufacturing new, quickly adds up and someday 20 years from now I hope to be retired like @scootertrash and I,d love to then hang around the shop all day helping out a few buddies at cost, but for now I have to see a return on these investments and pay the going shop rates or the wolves will be knocking at the door! lol That being said , I do have this demo unit pictured here that I,m open to offers on if any forum members want to pm me. The reason being now that the design is proven ,as soon as I finish @2SierraRomeos roof Im going to build one new production dolly to always have on hand ready to ship, and Ill just continually rotate it out with another new one in stock as they will not be used as I will always use my hydraulic trailer to go anywhere I,m not riding. As then I can carry so much more than just the Sling with me. SO ANYBODY LISTENING, MAKE ME AN OFFER !

Tow dolly pricing , remember our August sale prices, all items are reduced 15 % for the entire month of August , that includes our just today announced price of $1,295.00 for the dolly , simply by contacting me with an intention to finalize a dolly purchase, by sept 1 , irregardless if it takes another week or two, will assure you the sale price of $1,036.00 it may be tomorrow before our website is updated with dolly info, anybody can pm me in the meantime if so desired, thank you.

TOW DOLLY PRICING; After many hours pricing , we have decided not to include shipping, all kit prices are F.O.B. OUR DOCK, Dorchester Ontario, Canada, as many members have asked Eastern U.S. customers not have to subsidize Western U.S shipping costs as there is about $60.00 difference ( North eastern shipping prices will be approx. $168.00, South East $188.00 Western $228.00)

Does not Include- shipping, or rims and tires, as those would un-proportionately increase crate size and shipping costs , not to mention trailer tires can be purchased online ,delivered throughout U.S. (wwwtrailertires.com) at discounted prices, Canadian tire suppliers cannot compete, nevermind extra shipping costs!

I know many forum members were expecting less cost but given and substantiated by @scootertrash, s email above, with material costs at $ 700.00 , (MINUS $175 FOR RIMS AND TIRES) , that's $ 525 MATERIAL COSTS ! Before we even begin manufacturing, Dons manufacturing times of 30-40 hours are a little high compared to ours as we do have , or availability to, plasma cutting, 50 ton bending press, roller presses etc. However as long as consumers have a need for specialty items, basically custom made , North American shop rates will prevail , so no, we cannot compete with similar types of mass produced, bare bone products made in CHINA. Quality built U.S. car dollies, (as we consider these Slingshot dollies,) retail between $2,000 to $3,000.00 (and don't knock down for storage, nevermind the additional costs of building to be able to ) with very little more manufactured items or costs. So, at SSBODYKITS.COM we are pleased to offer these kits to forum members at a price that allows them to assemble their own quality built, swivelling dolly at an affordable price.
the cradle tray shown on demo is welded , it will be press braked one piece construction on production versions, no more welded notched sidewalls and leading edge , the protytpe shown was necessary that way as it was cut and recut until we got it right ,lol
