@Guardian_Angel I don't know that I'd call @Bill Martin an old goat & I surly hope the bucket is far away from him, but he isn't a young wiper snapper either....
(couldn't resist ) -
I would think sticking out that far you should have a red flag hanging on it..
I'm guessing your talking about @mytoy setup. He has the rear lights on his luggage carrier so no red flag would be needed.

I can't believe this damn thread has made it to 8 pages..... and now I helped it get farther

This guy drives from stephenville, TX to Arlington, tx everyday for work, so he removed them. He said it helps with them off to stop the "lifting" feeling you get at 130, but who knows he may have been blowing smoke, as lots claim to go that fast but how many really have? I reach 100 often but never have really gone over that lol.
I'd say with his drive (once out of DFW area) he has the country dead road to try it so he may be correct.
It also did not look bad with them removed as I thought it might be ugly but it wasn't. -
I got this from @invisible. Thanks so much I can't wait to try it out

I hope your coming to Texas Hill Country next year @mytoy you always make me laugh on here & i'd like to meet you lol

Me & the wife were riding today and came across a SS parked in a business lot (this was the 2nd time we seen it there), so we stopped to say hi.
Any way the guy drives 2 hours to work & 2 hours home everyday. He took off his lower fenders as his drive consist of small critters he doesn't want getting caught up and breaking them. He did say with them removed it helps to keep it from trying to float when you go over 130 mph. He said he's never been on any forum as he doesn't have time, but he'll try and get on here some time and check us out.
See picture what are your thoughts? I was up against a building so this was the best pic I could get. -
Most call it "coast" down the hill, but I new what you were talking about.

Any pictures of said 305 fender? Saw a fender de al for $50 listed in accessories, but no picture...
Its posted in another thread and its kind of boxy & well I'll let you decide lol

Also the LE is over $30K now

1st off, its 9-10 VOLTS, not AMPS, where you can have problems with Optima batteries. A regular battery charger will often not restore an Optima battery when voltage gets that low - you must use the special charger that @kyslingshot gave a link to on the bottom of page 1 of this thread.
So the problem would be with using a battery charger to charge it if it gets low? Driving it and letting alternator charge it would work? I don't own a battery charger so if its just using a battery charger to charge it then it wouldn't affect me.

Working on the new screens today for this and two other shirts.
I may have missed it, but whats the reasoning for 3 stars? Wouldn't you want to be rated 5 stars not 3? lol
I assume the 3 stars is for something I just was curious what. -
It's a car battery in my 2015. Those optima batteries need to be kept fully charged. If they drop below 9-10 amps you have to use two car batteries to bring it back up. Way different than a standard battery.
Please elaborate. I have the Yellow Top Optima in mine & when we were at the beach I ran it down (SS wouldn't start "click, click, click") we pushed started it (pop'd the clutch) & haven't had any issues. I assume you mean when they get old and drop? Or is 9-10 amps low not a "normal" thing?

I believe the 2015 and 2016 had the Group Size 26 and the 2016.5 and newer have the smaller motorcycle battery.
I have the 2016 Black Pearl SS and it had the smaller battery.

There's no way it should cost that much..I've had mine replaced twice and both times it took about 45 minutes to an hour..Not sure I believe the dealer retail bills. Polaris is dictating what they get.I had taken by 2015 Highlander in today for for it's last free oil change and tire rotation at dealer. 2.5 years old with 35,000 miles. They said the battery failed to test properly and they replaced it at no cost as a warranty item. When I got the paperwork it said retail (just for the battery) was $756.. I think CNN comes up with these prices.
I didn't pay that. It was covered under warranty. That is the bill the dealer sent to polaris/warranty claim. It is reasons like these that insurance rates & warranty rates are so high. Price gouging when its an insurance or warranty claim.

This video will explain it easily. Its 2 pins & 2 torx screws.
