Refusal to follow a lawful order is called insubordination - - - and it can get a military person in deep trouble

I really don't even understand why anyone would question this - - does anyone actually believe that in the military you get to pick and choose which orders you want to follow??I do

I do believe there was a rather good movie about a Conscientious objector.

Well this happened, let my brother drive it while he was in town, when exiting he got up to soon and pop.

It was always missing the rear securment magnet. When I inquired about replacement my local dealer said it's not an option.

So ideally I'm looking for suggestions in regards to gluing of some sort. The jb plastic stuff is sufficient or maybe something else?

I found a potential replacement of just the door via ebay, bit pricey and labeled a 2017 on the schematic.

So idk if my local dealer was misinformed or there was some significant change between the 17 and 18 shades.

It does fine up to about 60...lol

Is there a secret pic n pull graveyard of slingshots somewhere?

    Thanx in advance.

Whylee, may I ask why you're set on an R?

Typically me, I was always of that nature also.

You might consider getting a good deal on a SL and R'ing yourself.

To my understanding the major difference is the tune to the ecu, a 305 on the back, factory CIA and some embroidery on the seats and some badges?

I'm sure someone else could go into more detail.

But then again, I understand working as much as you are, fun time is somewhat limited and you may want to just grab and go and minimize downtime upgrading.

I noticed there's that blue SL on reno Craigslist, but I'm not to sure about that guy it's been up for a while, and he never responded to an email when I was looking.

Have you driven one yet? That's the thee most sound advice I recieved from these guys that were chiseling on tablets when I joined. Get to know the one you get before going wild with upgrades. And I tried I really tried, originally I was just going to do brakes, shocks and headlights. Needless to say that went out the door fairly quick.

There are a few what I considered reasonably priced R's (25k) on cycletrader spread throughout the midwest if you're going the shipping route. And then again my brother is in Vegas, you find one there, I'm sure he'd be happy to drive it up to Reno for you. Lol

    Welcome!

They don't have any down in Vegas?

Keep us in the loop, I have friends over in Stead, I know I'll be visiting at some point this summer.

And if you ever make it over to California's largest natural lake, feel free to hit me up.

I have a hoodie from there...

Look how cool that would look on the nose of that blue one!

Just a fyi folks about the superb customer service from these guys.

He took the time to field my first round of tech questions yesterday as they were getting ready to depart for this sling experience.

And again today with a follow up question while there! Really, I thought I'd end up speaking with someone at the home base.

    This community continually amazes me.:!:

Well all the new bits are on, gotta clean the thing before posting some pics. Living down a dirt road baaah...

Woke up this am to hear of a good friends passing (auto accident on that Hwy 20 late afternoon yesterday), had to do a lil head clearing and I do a lil group thing over in Ukiah as part of Celebration Recovery. If anyone feels inclined to add the Juan Ortega Family to their prayers it would be appreciated.

Now about this route, should you ever find yourself in NorCal, that lil tid bit of road between Highway 29 in Lakeport over to the 101, Hwy 175, is one you will not want to miss. 18 miles of ripitie do dahhhh, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear. Had the pleasure of running this from end to end with no hold ups, a true rarity on this road. I mean really in 32.5 years of running this road, today was like the 5th time it ever happened.

To give you an idea, a typical cage takes about 30mins to run this. Maybe one of these days I'll get a go pro set up and give ya all a sample.

Hug your loved ones and always remind them of that love, you can never say it enough. Even if you think they know it, and possibly slipped into a bit of complacency, say it.

    Flashback to when ...

Surprising, how utterly uncomfortable Mr. Hanks looked after a couple of those jokes.... oh and that Star Trek one, I'd have to say whatever they've been using to shoot up Biden with for momentary bouts of clarity was obviously alpha tested on Pelosi.

If only someone would make a movie about the dangers of developing a brain enhancing drug, what could go wrong? ook!

let me know how yours turns out. I dropped mine off to be coated. They called me saying they are concerned about getting good coverage on the exhaust portion. Debating on just picking it up or going ahead and having header done

Just a couple quick pics @ pick up.

    Super happy with it.

Coverage looks nice and even across all surfaces of both.

I think well try on some of the plastics next, maybe the belt drive cover...

    Anybody see this ???

Think you could smoke the tire off with this ???? 😂

Mechanic: "Well the "book" says it takes two hours to just look at it..."

With a name like the hurricane and an effort to go green, this should be powered by rum.

Who ever thought you'd end up gaining "outlaw" status for running a V8, ahhh the smirk ass faces from all those prius twits.

Hi Chezling and everyone else. Thanks for the welcome. We really appreciate it. I do have a question. I am trying to return the slingshot to original to a point. The previous owner eliminated the catalytic converter and I would like to replace it. I know that will restrict my exhaust but I'm the kind of person that likes to stay in the rules to some extent. I have ordered a converter eliminator pipe to be used in the interim but I really don't want to make this a long term thing. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Well I was trying to research if I could sell you mine, once the stock exhaust comes off when my 1320 combo comes back from the cerekoter.

But I did stumble across this, https://slingshotspot.com/product/catalytic-converter/, idk anything about this place, for some reason in all the parts searching I've done over my fairly noobish ownership this is the first time this place has popped up on a search.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

Pardon to the forum overlords for hijacking Chezling's post.

I will, hopefully it'll be back by the middle of next week. What color did you end up choosing? I ended up going with the V Series Tungsten. Depending on how that turns out I may end up going with the same for the valve color.

Now I may be thinking too much into this, "The foundation for Cerakote V Series coatings is a unique inorganic ceramic technology that imparts both high temperature performance and excellent physical stability." But I'm fairly certain this screams nanobots... maybe it will involve into a Transformer one day.

    Here we go….

Well it seems the Politico article I read summed it up best. No mention of that between the BBC and Reuters articles.

The suit was assigned on Thursday to U.S. District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks, who is based in West Palm Beach, Fla., and was appointed by former President Bill Clinton. In 2015, Middlebrooks tossed out a civil racketeering suit filed against Hillary Clinton over her practice of using a private email account and server while she served as secretary of State.

The R's are all bought and paid for - - no different really than the D's - - only major difference is who owns them - - - I can guarantee it isn't you or me.

Idk about that entirely, Sen. Ben Sasse has the heart of a teacher.

I think this guy is our best hope for all, to sit in the big chair eventually. However the likely hood of effectual change is slim to none, until we insist on a Convention of States to in act term limits for congress.

And I'll add to the pipe dream list, something I once heard on Armstrong and Ghetty, you should only be allowed to vote for the offices you meet the age requirements to hold.
