IIRC, I think I heard that labor is a killer for anything clutch-related since the Slingshot requires front-end removal to pull the engine & transmission for clutch work.

    .

Its the MC on the firewall ... not the slave cylinder in the transmission bell housing.....

A decent tech would be hard pressed to charge an hour ....

The Polaris part # matches the GM part number you listed ....

I'ts only $125 from Polaris and they state it is a Gm part..so probably really $75 or less from a parts store ..... IMO not worth rebuilding for that price .....

    .

It's an easy replacement so IMO you should probably remove the tech you asked from your list of reliable sources for information ..

EDIT: Yup. first listing has it for $66.28 - https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/…-master-cylinder-24249817

This fills market segment that does have a huge number of buyers. I do not need a truck all the time. I do not need a Jeep but am willing to overlook a lot of it's (in the past) short falls because I'm a Jeep guy. I now can have the truck when I need it and still keep a Jeep. The JL is way better than my old JK so it's a no brainier. I'll argue that it's just as stupid for me to buy the huge full-size truck if I'm not going to use it for what a truck is. Truck owners complain when people buy trucks and don't use them as designed, jack the price up for all and in thier minds water them down to fit these new buyers needs. Jeep comes along and makes a lifestyle truck for those people and Bam those people bash it for not being a full on truck. I give up!

I use my tiny little baby bed all the time, for household stuff, mountain bikes, camping gear, kayak stuff (our 14' tandem Kayak has a trailer), for our grand kids dirt bikes (tailgate is designed to be weight bearing), for our boating stuff. The four door works for our dogs or grand kids. While we are not serious off roaders anymore we use the 4WD all the time getting the Kayak to the water, down sugar sand trails in the summer that turn into swampy trails in the spring, and on the sketchy algae covered local boat ramps that have claimed three "trucks" just this month. The 4dr/stubby bed just works for us better than either our last 2dr Sierra or JKU did. Never needed the full size bed in the Sierra, I have a trailer or company trucks for the maybe once a year I haul lumber. The JKU lacked carrying capacity and was horrible towing, even our bay boat. So I understand the design and our little ZR2 is perfect for our needs as is the Gladiator I am sure for 90% of the market. So I'll leave the "true truck guys" to their designer diesel dualiles as they ride around by them selves looking for a place to park outside the urologists office. My little "car" works just fine for me. I still have my class A if I feel the need for a real truck .....

From the Factory Polaris service manual. “Remove exhaust stud nuts, and discard” I assume due to being repeatedly heated, and cooled it causes distortion resulting in exhaust leak? Or it makes them $48.00! Take your pick:/

    .

It is a spec for the type of locking nut that is used ... they have "interference threads" in that the thread pattern in the nut is tighter than the stud so it locks on to the stud and won't loosen due to heat cycling ... technically they are single use only ....

I,m inclined to agree with Orangeman on this one , fuel cell technology is an up and coming thing with huge potential , I don't know that it will obsolete all electric within five years

My apologies, I meant five years once a major vendor adopts adding refiling equipment at their stations, not five from today. Right now it is not viable outside of CA, really the greater LA area where the test filling stations are already installed.

GM is playing with a whole lot of government contracts, grants, and subsidies (remember we still own part of them) and you may be surprised how many oil companies are in talks with the feds regarding fuel cell tech .....

    .

Speaking locally, all of our public busses are in the process of going electric.................

    .

Yup .. left coast politicians throwing tax payer $$ in the street again for virtue signaling ....

Two hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are going on sale this year (until now they have all been test leases) with four more in the next 18 months ...

Every $ they are spending on electric only will be outdated in five years ... all that is holding fuel cell tech back is large scale installation of refilling equipment at current gas stations. The first large vendor to make the jump will set the fuse ....

Fuel cell technology will obsolete current electric tech within five years for many of the anti-electric sentiments listed previously and is the only viable replacement for internal combustion in the US. For the simple fact that a huge # of US drivers will never buy a vehicle they can't pull in, re-fuel quickly, and go on their way ....

Businesses need to demand better service from delivery companies...

Or vendors could take better care of their product and customer by properly packing their goods for shipment because ...

delivery companies do not care about your package

Which I am sure they are aware since you ....

see it every time I order

I am often amazed that some products even make it to my door since so many vendors take so little care packing for shipment. The way I see it is if they care so little for their product then why should I care about ordering from them again ....

So the Fed Ex driver made the decision to pull over and confront the guy who yelled at him, then defended himself, resulting in the death of the "aggressor" .... he made the choice to escalate the situation and it is deemed lawful under their "No duty to retreat" law ....

I agree with this even though the driver could have easily just kept driving .....

In the FL case the guy was broadsided and thrown to the ground then defended himself, also lawful self defense under the FL "Stand your ground" law as originally stated by the Sheriff.

I agree with this also .....

My question was why are these seen as so different with the "no duty to retreat" law being heralded and the "Stand your ground" law being vilified ...... distilled to the very basics both where defending themselves, both resulted in the death of the "aggressor".
