"I would never want an asymmetric tire on the rear."

I believe that this is a simple misconception on our part. A asymmetrical tire is primarily designed as a steering tire, but also works well in a non-steering position. Yes, to our eye, it may look odd, or "out of balance" to some when the single, centrally located, rear tire is asymmetrical, but honestly, I do not believe that the SlingShot itself really knows, or cares, about it.

Our experience with the Sena intercom, to listen to the radio first the driver, (primary headset), is tuned to the radio and then the passenger headset can be piggy backed. It is either the intercom, or the radio, but not both. Too bad they do not have a system like we have in the airplane where we can listen to the entertainment, but when someone talks the entertainment is automatically muted and the system goes to the communication side. After being quiet for a time the system then automatically goes back to the entertainment.

I took my helmet off for a short ride on the Interstate and WOW, the drone and wind noise is definitely most irritating. I didn't realize just how well our helmets with intercom were doing in keeping the noise down and making it possible to talk normally with each other keeping our rides much more pleasant.

From the home page of Club SlingShot:
How to Start a Local Club
Each local Club is sponsored by an authorized Slingshot® dealership. To get started contact your local dealership and let them know your interest in a local club in your area.

Our "local" dealerships are now 150 to over 200 miles from us?

If done right, it could be a good way for owners to get the ear of Polaris rather than nashing and bashing them, wouldn't that be wonderful?

    Bill

If I start off you can hear a thumping noise coming from the rear undercarriage. It only happens once at every stop and go. I can also put it in reverse and hear the same noise, only once. Can’t see anything when looking but then again all the plastic is hiding everything. Everything shifts fine. It sounds like something was in the storage boxes moving back and forth but they are both empty.

    All fluids look good

How about something underneath one of the seats, (guess why I would suggest this? :whistling: )

    Bill

    Does it affect closing?

Can I still drop it like it's hot? :D

Yes, I'm a slammer... One latch doesn't catch, so I end up pressing that side down....

When we installed our Madstad windshield I had to ever so slightly adjust the hood to keep from hitting the windshield when closing, a benefit of doing the adjustment was that afterwards the hood did much better with closing and latching. The MeanSling hood lift causes the hood to come down more flat, and like McClendons, we now very rarely find an unlatched latch, (though we still check.)

Maybe not everybody waves but Like others have mentioned, the SlingShot is not always immediately recognized as we approach each other. But as we pass each other almost all do a double take, especially the lady passengers, obviously checking out that comfortable seat in the SlingShot! ;)

    Bill

Being that the SlingShot came out of the starting gate bucked up right against it's weight limit, it makes it doubtful that there will be any game changing options offered in the future from the manufacturer.........................................
    Bill

OK, now after saying that, this revelation just may be a game changer where a group of SlingShot owners who were recently touring the Polaris factory were informed that the 2019 model will have a new Polaris designed engine.......................

We are just asking this just in fun since we live just north of the California border, where when we hear about a ride being organized in NORTHERN" California this sounds great! But to folks in California "NORTHERN" obviously means something very different for when we look at a California map, even though the San Fransisco area appears to us to be way down there closer to the central part of the state, Californians reference this area as "NORTHERN" California? Now, to us here in southern Oregon, examples of "NORTHERN" California brings to mind Eureka, Arcata, Crescent City, Redding, or other like located
communities? So, for future understanding, when referencing rides being organized in "NORTHERN" California, as far as Californians are concerned, this infers to everything north of what, Los Angeles?

    Bill

Being that the SlingShot came out of the starting gate bucked up right against it's weight limit, it makes it doubtful that there will be any game changing options offered in the future from the manufacturer, which makes us very happy that we are very content with our 2015, which is the best model in our opinion.

    Bill

Now what we need is to add the accessories that each of the original models came with as well as maybe other physical changes?

As such I would like to replace the stock belt with a simple lap belt. Has anyone here done this without going to a full race harness? If you have done this do you have a link to the belt you bought and any installation pointers?

    Thanks

Have you stopped to question why you did not get a single positive response to this question?
