There may already be a thread somewhere that lists off sites that make various parts and accessories for the slingshots, if so, someone please link it.

If not... i think we should have a thread dedicated for listing websites or items that are for the slingshot for all new and old SS owners so we can keep the mod bug alive and potentially create a better market for used/old mods and parts that can be recycled to new users.

Besides Slingmods.com, what other sites have you all used?

Wasn't this the purpose of what https://www.slingshotownersgroup.com/ is supposed to be for?

Why don't you show us what happens when you use Pledge, Bigdog?

Oh, and yet another first this morning where in the over four years of ownership we have never been able to listen to the radio without the aid of the intercom when cruising down the highway. Well, this morning coming to work I was doing just that!

I have been thinking that ball-lock pins would be really nice so to be able to quickly remove/install the A-arms with the top, but with the present system there is not enough clearance. I can see that with the addition of these extensions, then using ball-lock pins would be made possible.......................:/

Another quick question, there is a known issue of the driver's side mirror liking to vibrate, does this extension possible do something to help eliminate that issue?

I just wanna add another kudo for the Sport Top. Even with full faced/modular helmets on we still noticed that wind and turbulence noise was greatly reduced with the Sport Top installed, so we went on a quest to try using just half helmets with no intercom. First we went to our newly established Cycle Gear store and tried fitting helmets and ultimately ordered a pair of Bell Pit Boss helmets. After their arrival I excitedly donned mine and went for a ride and return extremely disappointed when subjected to high tire noise, something we didn't realize with the full helmets. :(

    Today we found SUCCESS!

a few days ago after my first solo ride with the Sport Top and using the Bell half-helmet, I posted how dismayed I was in realizing how much noise that the tires were making, especially on the Interstate. Well, today Justina and I did our first ride together where we both wore simple foam earplugs, which effectively deadened the road noise where we found our selves easily conversing with each other without the aid of an intercom! :)

Doing some more research on tires.....I found this info interesting. Do you think our rear tire being bigger than the fronts had anything to do with handling issues?

Traction, maybe, but most of that can be attributed it to being a single drive wheel/tire, which has already been discussed extensively.

    Handling, nope!

    Bill

Thanks wokka, considering that the current tires are nearly new, we will have plenty of time for researching this further, in the mean time I think we'll be trying out different types of ear plugs when wearing the half-helmets, or if anybody have any suggestions here!! :)

Are you going to ride or worry about tire noise

Well, FunCycle, I didn't recognize much of your trying to be nice with your statement above, I apologize for overlooking it. And what I meant in the following post was that if I, (as in me), or Justina, rode mostly solo than the tire noise would be of less concern. Otherwise, a main part of our enjoying our rides is talking with each other. The point of this post was that even with our full faced/modular helmets, it was obvious that with the top on, wind noise and turbulence had been noticeably diminished. With this in mind we were hoping that with the added protection of the top, that we could enhance our riding enjoy-ability by doing away with our full helmets and intercom system and getting by with just half-helmets and conversing normally. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in finding that the previously unnoticed tire noise is going to make this objective more difficult than originally imagined. Why do you seem to object to our trying to do away with the additional paraphernalia of full helmets and intercoms and enjoying a more natural ride and unaided conversation?

    Bill

Are you going to ride or worry about tire noise

If one is always riding alone then there is no need for conversation and tire noise would be of no concern, otherwise................................

We have lil complaint about the seats while riding in our couple of months of "hot" weather, just during those occasions where the Grasshopper may sit in the sun and the seats heat up, at which time we have been putting the backrest forward or just slipping on the cockpit cover......................

...................oh, and now we also have the Sport Top. ;)

But, even with that said, we have still been looking for something like this where we also would be interested if these matched and complimented the style of the stock SlingShot seat?

I want to add that the lift assist is the greatest thing since sliced bread with this top. the thing that instantly got everyones attention was when I just left the top up after my wife and I got out of the slingshot - - it showed everyone how the Sports Top stands out as the easiest when it comes to getting in or out of the slingshot

It feels odd posting here "complaining" about cost, even though we have eyed the lift assist since purchasing the Sport Top, that $110, (including shipping), has been a barrier keeping us from the "buy" button. In the mean time the $2.00 piece of plastic water line, though not quite as convenient, will have to suffice.
