I HATE cleaning the wheels on the Grasshopper, so NOW you have got my attention, I just ordered a bottle!

    Bill

Just received this from Amazon with a coupon for an extra free bottle by texting, (I hope that I did THAT right?)

Oh, and it matches the color of our current tranny juice!

There is one of 2020 Polaris Slingshot rumors that is probably unpleasant for fans of this vehicle, though. People speculate that 2020 model will be the last release of this motorcycle series. It seems that the manufacturer will release another similar series with better concept.

    Better concept?

Ah, just a wee bit before purchasing the Grasshopper and joining that Forum, might be a good course of action to do a good visual..........................

I have owned pretty much every wheel from Polaris. I haven't run in to one I have had to worry about...but I was talking to a friend yesterday and showed him some of the photos that are online from the 2015 wheel damage...he's probably going to pick up one of the extra sets of 2016 wheels I have.

Can you provide us with some links to those pictures?

I got our ducks in a row preparing to take the Grasshopper on it's four hour ride to Salem, hopefully on Friday the 10th, to get the knock sensor replaced, as well as the seat and camera recalls done. After listening to all of the horror stories about Polaris being unable to provide parts on time, (and also this is a new dealer for us), I checked with the local GM dealer first to assure I could pick up a knock sensor locally. Having that accomplished, I called Cycle Country in Salem all prepared to say I will bring my own part, where in less than 10 minutes time the parts are ordered and will be here for the Grasshopper's 10:00 appointment on Friday, May 10. So, depending on how long it actually takes to change out that knock sensor, I have a good feeling that we should be in & out in good time!

If I remember right the 2015 SL wheels had a casting issue and cracks were common.

Uh Oh, this is the first I have heard of this, where and/or how are they cracking and can the cracking be found doing a visual inspection?

wjfyfe , no seats with stitching will be completely waterproof unless the seems are sealed. It's usually noticeable when someone has used a sealer on the stitching. They are water resistant.

These are my thoughts also, but I really do like their looks. We do a fair amount of riding in the rain so the followup questions would be if they do get water soaked, will getting that wet harm them? Is just keeping them in a dry place enough to dry them completely and how long would that take?

    Bill

Well, our CEL was just activated showing the fault to be the knock sensor. If there is ever a good time for something like this to happen I guess we are lucky for we are already planning on taking the Grasshopper up to the dealer to get the recalls check out, so they can just do this while we're there.

    Bill

OK, currently when you block a person they are still always there, like a ghost. This is the very first time I have ever wanted to do this, but is there a way so one can totally put somebody on ignore, I mean, so that their name, or posts, are never seen again>?

    Bill

That is the one reason that I stay with the stock 2015 seats, for me they are comfortable and I do not want to waste money trying something else and they not be as good

I believe that we have sat in all of the "stock" seats as they have been introduced in which our original 2015 seats appear to be just as/more comfortable plus there seems to be some doubt of how waterproof the later model of seats are, (especially the "stitched" ones?) We've considered aftermarket seats, but the detracting features are their expense, and they just do not fit the lines of the SlingShot, definitely looking add-on!

Just so we are all clear I was all in with the Lucas Koolaid until about two weeks ago but now that I have found something better which I CAN PROVE is better there is no reason for me to blindly use lucas anymore, kind of like I switched F-11 for lucas now I dumped lucas for Shine armor.

......................from somewhere in the back a weak lil voice squeaks out, "Pledge?"

and let's not forget Bigdog watching through the window jumping up and down, clapping his hands, and grinning from ear to ear enjoying watching all the frackas that he created!

    Bill

There is another possibility and that is we still need to get a couple of recalls done, so that means either taking the Grasshopper to Salem or Bend................

    Bill

Well, I am going to be all full of woes this morning for we do not do Facebook, otherwise all the other suggestions are a day's ride for us just to get to the ride, (Newport may be a possibility?)

    Bill

It sure would be nice to find accessories that matched the styling of the SlingShot seats that were reasonably priced? :(

    Bill

That was I think one of the very first things that I did. I blocked off all of the holes in the foot well. I made a pattern of the hole and used old style (20's to 40's) wind shield rubber. It comes in two widths, I used the narrower on one side of the hole and the wider on the other and it overlapped so that the pedals would work thru it. Oh! I used RTV to stick the rubber on. There is a DIY over on TDS. It is a pain in the butt to do but it works

With the 2015 we added the muffler/exhaust manifold heat shields, (they were not stock back then), and floor mats, now even the dog rests comfortably on the passenger side floor? The only thing different from "newer" models is that we have never installed the radiator shroud?
