Only reason I ever skipped this event was it was always at the same time as Slingshots In The Rockies. Go figure the first year I could go...and I don't have a Slingshot. lol

If all goes as planned we won't be able to register next year as a "quad". We'll still go to hang out and ride with folks though as we had that much fun.

Bad back, Army messed it up and VA said it's bad enough for 20%.... PRP seat covers over the stock seats - small ass too so maybe that's why I like the stock seats in my 18. Did 428 miles in it last Monday and got up and rode a few hundred more the next day. Guess it helps too having sat in the worst seat for hours on hours (c130 jump seats) you look at just about everything else as a level of comfort above that :D

Got the boy outta bed and rolled up to Englewood for a car show. Was pretty packed by time we got there at 11, so took a stroll through to check it all out and then headed back to the springs. Was hot so had to hit our favorite ice cream joint before headed home! Vacation officially over... wife has a few yard chores to get done and back to work tomorrow. Was a good week or so though and can't really complain!

Just got home an hour or so ago and got unloaded - what a blast. Over 1600 miles on the sling touring all the sights of SD and hitting all the twisties we could find. I don't know the final trike numbers but 510+ trikes showed up, 18 slingshots and 10 vanderhalls. The reception to slings was pretty good, especially by all of the staff. My opinion is the can am spyder/ryker guys are cool with us it's the old HD guys that are on converted trikes that wouldn't throw the wave :) Event had a lot to do - the only thing I think slings couldn't do was the trike games of skill. Talked to Teresa who runs the show and going to try to fix that if we can get more sling there and talking to other slings folks we came up with a few sling specific games so they aren't left out next year hopefully.

Vendors were pretty cool, in fact Sarah Clark added some paint to our sling while there. There weren't any sling specific vendors, but to be expected with 18 showing up this year and I think she said most ever was 1st rally (this was 7th annual) in 2015 they had 21 show up. We did manage to take 1st place in peoples choice for best bike - which the wife and I were pretty stoked about. Kinda validates that garage time a bit...lol This was awesome as later when we did the parade and those same folks who voted where on the street to see the light parade - we got a lot of shout outs - so much fun! The wife and I also met a couple from Iowa that we ended up spending most of the week riding with. One day we ran into another new sling who saw us gathering and wanted to ride with. Of course we wanted him to join and 45 min ride later we were cramming him and his son (bigger guys) into a 7 person van with 8 of us in total to "tour" bear country. Slings couldn't go without windows/sides! Talk about getting to know folks and who showered that morning.

Overall it was fun, we treated it like a rally and met new folks, rode with slings (even some from CO) that we had never ridden with before and really had fun. We'll be back next year although will have 4 wheels so won't be registering - just going to hang with the cool staff and ride! I have some 360 video and more pics I'll add to this as I get some time. Here's a few that I had handy.

Apologies for the water spots, sprinkled on the way up and thought I got them all but guess not... Parade was still a blast though and tons and tons of people came out for it which was great to see! Justice, the sling behind me had the crowd going with the music and the kids all seemed to love them so was fun times for all!

DER Getting me excited about my trip. Planned on Badlands, but will make sure to check out that needle highway! Any other must see areas? How was it finding gas? I went to 4 stations up in Denver on Sunday before heading home trying to find premium...

Sunday my son and I joined a few Denver guys and did a 4th of July parade in Aurora. Was kinda fun actually! Hadn't been in a parade since I was a kid and throwing candy...Unfortunately they told us no candy throwing...but it was still fun! Lots of waiting in staging, move up, then wait, move up, wait some more, then finally parade street..., then thinking that was cool we should do that loop again! lol Half way through my hippie hair kid says "am I supposed to be waiving?"...he was just sitting there smiling like a goof. These photos where from the wife who drove up to see parade and I did run the 360 video so we'll see what it captured when I get a chance today to work with it between meetings.

I think I would have gone for the one that goes in the engine compartment. More expensive but hidden.

Thought about it, but already have a cover in that area that I'd hate to replace as I am a cheap ass. Hoping it'll be more hidden with quad kit eventually and that I didn't put where that'll be in the way... I maybe buying a new plastic panel in the future...

YOLO's getting the parade shine on - joining in on a 4th parade up in Denver today. We'll see how that works out, but either way it's clean!

A week or so back wife and I went to jump in sling and it was dead... I can't think of anything I have on power without ignition on for this reason besides the sling alarm which does have cell/gps on all the time. Think it saw 3 weeks... I know I know ride it more just been wet/rainy here a lot! I grabbed my jump box and couldn't get to alt wire, so pulled batter box cover to attach the jump box - pain in the ass. Ordered some posts from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YFFMS6A

Last project of the day yesterday was these... probably should of did it first before drilling that many project beers in, but they work. Black one is just a few mm higher and should of went further out to balance. My OCD can live with it knowing if I do let it die again it'll be 1000 times easier to put jump box on these! Off to parade today in Denver, then Beer and Booms with some friends out at their property! Have an Amazing 4th all!
