Well I started out this morning for my ride and the Check Engine Light came on. Not sure what it is so not sure I should go on an all day ride today. Thoughts from my sling family.

Press the Mode button until the speedo's display cycles around to "CHK ENGINE" then press and hold the Mode button. If you have a code it will display in the odometer space. If you have more than one code a number will appear in the Time space. Press the Mode button to cycle through your codes. Press and hold the Mode button to leave the Check Engine mode. Error Codes are listed in the Service Manual. If you don't have one your dealer should certainly be able to translate it for you. Good luck!

Look at responses #11 and #15. When I popped out my cup holders several months ago I used a method that was a combination of the two.

Use a plastic putty knife to ease under the cup holder's lip. It will slightly raise the lip and will not scratch your paint. Ease the flat-bladed screwdriver between the putty knife and the cup holder's lip. Twist the screwdriver to raise the cupholder a little then slide the pair around 30 degrees and do it again. Be patient and work your way around. Eventually you will have enough of the cupholder exposed to pull it out.

The locking edges on my cupholders kept them in pretty securely. They came out without damage to anything, but it took patience. The next time I grease the U-joint I will jack the SS up a bit so I can get under it and will knock them out from below with a plastic mallet. So much for finesse.

One other thing. I am happy to have my Hahn X2 setup. I wish Bill Hahn would chime in if he feels better. If it were not for him I wouldn't have a need for this awesome engine. Hahn's system is scalable and can output plenty of boost and fuel for you guys wanting to.make this next step. I don't know about the Alpha system but it probably will do just fine. Henry may chime in and let yall know. I know this is a DDM vendor thread but this build kinda ties all of them together. It's good for all of them in my opinion.

And I know it goes without saying , DDM has the supercharger of the bunch and is ready to deliver boost also...

I rode in a Slingshot in Maggie Valley that had the DDM blower installed during SSITS. Holy f# King $%*t!!! It out pulled anything I can remember being in. Instant on and gone! Very, very impressive! Same price as the turbos being offered. This would not be a tough decision.

After installing the 1320, UPTone, and K&N I have no problems setting the cruise on 80 and it doesn't loose more tha 1 mph going up long hills. Works at any speed I've tried from 70-88. Haven't had the ECU touched yet.

My only changes are a cat delete and the DDM CAI. I made the trip to Daytona in the Spring and ran 80 - 85 MPH most all of the 1,100+ miles, whatever the prevailing traffic was doing. I rarely was not in 5th when at speed. I was VERY pleased with how much punch and acceleration ability was on hand, particularly knowing that the SS's 5th is an extreme overdrive at around .75:1. I do have the 1320 header on order now and it has been shipped. The search for more performance never really stops does it.

The first person to recommend Amsoil here will get sent to find Ocean frontage in Arkansas. I won't ever buy it just due to the multilevel pyramid scheme crap they use to sell it...If they found out tomorrow that it would increase you male anatomy by 5 inches just by owning a bottle I still wouldn't buy it.... :D:D:D

I guess if you like it then just use it..... but somehow I always end up in some debate over how versatile Amsoil is. And then they send me a link to how many engines they have saved by using it..... NOOOOOOO just say no....

I enjoyed the humor in your anti-Amsoil post. No one on the forum should be thin-skinned or without a sense of humor. Also, as an Amsoil fan, I appreciate the offer, but I don't need any additional ocean frontage in Arkansas.

It should be noted that most everything you buy comes to market through a multi-level pyramid scheme. Traditionally the levels are labeled manufacturer, distributor, retailer and customer. The same labels can be applied within Amsoil's distribution chain. It's just conventional versus non-conventional. Nothing else.

Regardless of your position about their product marketing, Amsoil produces great products! They begin with top quality base stock synthetic oil and combine it with application-specific additives. Combined with good base stock, everyone agrees that it is the additive package that makes the oil. Without argument, Mobil 1 is an excellent oil for automobiles, but Amsoil produces multiple products in this category: OEM, XL and Signature Series, each one with increasing levels of additives and durability. Z-Rod is there for older flat-tappet engines that need more ZDDP, or zinc. I use the Signature Series 5W-30 (ASL) in my Slingshot.

For gear boxes you can use their transmission fluid or step up to their series of gear lubes. Even small engines have their own oil. I'm only going into all of this to illustrate that with Amsoil you can more likely match a lubricant to your desired application.

Don't shoot me or send me to Arkansas in search of real estate. I'm not an employee of Amsoil, nor am I a dealer. I'm just a gearhead that has researched and formed my own opinions regarding lubricants and want to share them.

so if you look at Tricleds, its around 380 plus dollars plus the LED's are not a bright and the hardware is NOT included, so i went with CS, for 199 Dollars its a steal

I'm not familiar with the CS lights. I recently installed the LED Conversion Kit from SlingMods. It was mostly a simple install and the lights are most definitely brighter. I got them at their introductory $159. Had to do it. They are now $199. I actually installed them the night before leaving for Bike Week the next morning, an 1,100+ mile trip. I had faith in them, but I carried the stock bulbs with me just in case.

Welcome @Stroker . Do you mind if I ask how you found this forum?

Just searching on Slingshot. I was actually looking for something else and this link came up in the results. I followed it, liked what I found and here I am. I've been a Slingshot SL owner since December 2014. I placed my deposit in July 2014. I also have two H-Ds, but they don't get as much use anymore.

Sorry, Black Death. I didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers over this. Maybe this is exactly what you or some others feel is right, or enough for now. I just wanted to point out to those folks with less mechanical experience that read these forums searching for answers that there is much more to it than what is pictured to gain the most performance by upgrading the air intake. Also, DDMWorks offers a very nice CAI that is less expensive than any others I've seen.

Replacing the stock air box and filter with one that breathes better is only part of the job. The convoluted rubber tube that connects the air box to the throttle body is also a BIG impediment to air flow. Also, without shielding, placing an open filter in front of the engine lets it draw air from around the hot radiator and engine as well as from outside. Although your intent is good, it is hardly efficient.
