Received my "ripper" windshield today and got it installed. Looks good and I'm sure it will let a little extra air in this summer when it's mid 90's here in Tennessee.

I too run a app on my cell for the speedometer, you can tell your speed much better than with the one on the dash & big brother is following us anyway.......might as well see what he sees lmao
I don't look at the speed that often. I've been driving for the better part of 50years and know when I'm around the limit. When I'm on an straight road, (not very often), I set my cruise at 5-10 over and don't need to look at the speed.
I couldn't run a "speed app" on my phone anyway. I run my camera app all the time I'm driving.

Don't want to bore you guys but finished detailing the sling this morning. Supposed to reach 45 today but driveway is shear ice. So, I guess it sits in the garage.
Going to be 78 here or so they say but it's only 59 at 0930 and foggy this morning. I have my doubts

My three year old Grandson calls the SS a race car too. I guess to them it looks like one.. LOL

If theres a car (as you see) in the left lane for no other reason than they are there, ill get around you if there are 3 lanes .........im a strong believer in the left lane is a passing lane, than move over and allow others to pass 🤦🏽
LOL, I really don't care if you drive on the shoulder to get around someone. I'm a New Yorker too, was born and brought up in the Adirondacks of NY. Spent the first 30yrs of my life there. I don't tell people that very often though...
-
Dont know about the rest of the Northerners BUT at 52° and the sun was out strong, i couldnt take it.........and your right cant beat 74°
Watching the video I can tell you are from New York State. Lane changing all over the place.

Polaris Slingshot Side Hood Vents, Louvered by DDMWorks adds function and styling to your Slingshot.
While doing aero testing at the A2 Wind Tunnel Mooresville, NC, we learned that there is a high pressure area in the stock wheel of all stock Polaris Slingshots. While doing more testing, it was found that the high pressure area in that area pushes up on the bottom of the hood, lifting the hood up until the high pressure is reduced, then the hood drops back down, that pressure builds again, this cycle repeats and "hood flap" is the result at speed. When that high pressure is pushing up on the hood, front end lift is also created on the Slingshot, decreasing front end stability also. Once we found this problem, we went to work on a solution and developed the DDMWorks hood vents. The result is a simple to install vent that reduces this high pressure area, helping to eliminate "hood flap" and creating more front end stability at speed. We offer several unique designs of these vents, allowing you to get the benefits of the vents while also customizing the look of your Slingshot with different patterns and colors of powdercoat.
The DDMWorks louvered hood vents are CNC cut from steel and then finished in a ultra durable powder coat in your choice of popular Polaris Slingshot colors. Mesh inserts are installed on the vents to help reduce water and road debris from coming up and are powdercoated in colors allowing you to create a truly custom creation. All stainless steel hardware needed for installation and full color instructions are included with the kit, ensuring you a great looking custom setup for years to come.Vents start at $179 for the standard vent set without inserts, $229 for all other sets with inserts.

The mesh inserts are $50 for the inserts with the 3M mounting tape and powdercoated in your choice of colors.

Curious why whenever I click on an aftermarket item were powder coating is available I never see the color that would match my SS. Never see "afterburner orange" offered.

Looks great but why the coat and gloves? It’s 74.
Light motorcycle jacket and driving gloves... At the start of the video it was 50*. It really didn't get to 74 until later in the day.

Enjoy snowbound people! I used to be one of ya. Video may still be processing.

Glad to see your brace has arrived!
For anyone else interested our angle drive braces are now back in stock and ready to ship!
Yep, and it's been installed a couple of days....

February 23rd and it's 71 here in God's country so I took a 40 mile ride just to warm stuff up. I know I promised some video for you "snow bound" brothers but I was so excited to get out and play I forgot to turn my cameras on. Tomorrow it's supposed to be more of the same weather so I'll get some video then and a much longer ride.

You could just switch to a flip phone!
I don't hear it - don't answer it
The message is always there when I stop!
Just an old fart who won't change - that's me
62 is a young pup not an old fart.
-
you might have to directly
or could you skip the ride command and bluetooth the the phone directly to the helmet speakers?
Yeah, that might work, have to try.
-
Does anyone know of a way to defeat the phone call cut-off? When going down the road in my 2019 SLR if I get a phone call it will allow me to answer it but then it immediately cuts it off. Yes, I know it's built into the system so you aren't distracted by a phone call while in operation but is there a way to override that feature? I wear a helmet and have a headset installed in it so all I have to do is push a button to answer calls. I know it's in the Polaris system. Anyone? Strangely enough if I place a call and then put it in gear and head down the road it will not cut me off.

.....Torque wrench isnt off, i think we all had to snug em a little bit past torque specs ....i know i did
Yeah, I'm going to watch for any seepage and retighten after my next ride.

DDM-20-13 Instructions Angle Drive Brace.pdf Installation instructions from DDMworks.
-
"Do it in place," as in did you have to remove the angle drive from your SS in order to add the reinforcement or were you able to remove all the necessary bolts, slip the support in, and install the new bolts. I'm assuming that's what you were able to do.
Ahhhhhh,, yes you are correct. You can just pull a few bolts and add the brace parts. You can go to DDMworks website and read the instructions if you want. It gives you a pretty detailed and visual file to look at. I recommend it. Hell, I'm an expert now, just bring it by I'll talk you through it...

This is a pretty personal mod... but I like it!
Before...
And after...
I must say, I'm enjoying these! Distance only contacts. They are comfortable, and I have enough close vision to see the dash instruments easily.
No more wobbling my head with bifocals. No more scratching my lenses with goggles, binoculars, or at the telescope!
Still have to wear reading specs (over the counter, not prescription), but that's just fine.
If the weather stays good, (and the snow melts off the driveway, I'll go riding tomorrow!
Yeah, I thought everyone wore contacts...LOL.
-
Were you able to do it in place without removing it?
If so did you need a torque wrench or any other special tools?
Not sure what you are referring to when you say do it in place without removing it... Removing what? I didn't remove anything, only added the angle drive brace.
Yes I used two torque wrenches. My smaller one for most of the bolts and the large one for the last bolt which is 85 ft lbs.

drfubar Man I feel your pain. I was going to crawl under the ss to put the lights on. I got under there and could move around. Should have known my back hurts so bad I can hardly stand the pain when I try to turn over in bed. My son completed the install for me maybe I could talk him into doing the bracket.
I keep mine up on ramps and that lifts it high enough so I could get around in under the SS but a lift would have been nice.
