I challenge you all to post an interesting photo of you & your slingshot. Other members of the family can comment with appropriate or funny captions.

I'll start y'all out with a photo of Ruby on Labor Day weekend. (I attached the second photo just to prove it was me.)

You had me curious, so I went looking at parts numbers. Only the LH side is marked convex, and only in US. https://www.polarispartsmonste…/body-mirrors-all-options

That's for all three models for the 2019.

This is really odd. When I brought Ruby home, I was all set to order convex mirrors from Slingmods first thing... then I noticed both mirrors were marked:

"Objects in mirror are closer than they appear"

And yeah, I wouldn't ride without them!

Mine did not, they were flat and showed no extra view. Adding the slingmods convex ones did wonders.

So, curious if my dealer put on older ones, or they have different ones? The factory does not put the mirrors on, that's a dealers job. For two reasons, per the factory tour, they will get banged up when they are loaded into the shipping crates and two, weight, they are an "addon" and not required to be part of the weighing process.

Very interesting! I was unaware that these were not standard equipment. Ruby came with them, nothing in the specs indicated that they were an SLR exclusive.

I didn't imagine that Polaris would make different mirrors for different models!

We lived in Kissimmee in 2004. Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeane. Every other weekend . . . here comes another one. I thought our last night on earth was the night when Charley went over us.

That's why we are back in Iowa. Give me a blizzard any day.

I said the same thing after riding out 3 earthquakes at 7.0 & up...

    Hello, Arkansas!!! 🤠

Doc&Ruby after reading this I need to check, hell I might be getting 100 mpg as hot as it is here. How bout you Edward Neal or SoCal y’all getting great fuel mileage. We had 105 with 115 index. I know right now my mileage is terrific. I am not riding anywhere.

Y’all have a great day cause I am stuck with cabin fever. Ride safe.

I spent 30 years in the low desert in RivCo, CA. I know "hot weather" is a term reserved for above 110F!

All my Slingshot experience is here in the Ozarks, where it gets humid sometimes, but never really "hot"... and compared to -20F winters in southern Wisconsin, it doesn't really get "cold" here, either!

Still, I do notice a significant milage difference from winter to summer here, both with my sling & with my SUV. Not claiming any universal truth, that's just my data FWIW.

Oh dear, gremlins are the WORST!

Have you tried lubricating the belt once it is clean? I use Liquid Wrench silicone lube, that generally quiets the noise for a couple weeks of daily driving.

At worst, it's a $5 can of lube that's good for all sorts of things around house & garage, so you can't go too far wrong giving it a try.

I usually take the belt shield off, wash with warm soapy water, and a stiff brush. Then I rinse with a hose, let dry for an hour. Then spray the belt, roll the sling forward a bit & repeat until the whole belt is lubricated. Allow the lube to dry 30 minutes or so before you take a test drive.

This was my belt noise salvation when nothing else worked.

Probably because your not down shifting now, saving your clutch and gas.

Wife and I are touring Yellowstone and Grand Tetons for two weeks. In Yellowstone the top MPH allowed is 45, I just got 32.98 and 36.75 on the last two fillups, first was 150 miles and second was 125 miles. Definitely shows the SlingShot to be a slow milage vehicle rather than a fast mileage vehicle.

I agree. I find that milage is heavily dependent upon two things: speed and weather.

Once I can hit and hold 5th gear (about 45 mph) I hit maximum milage - around 32 mpg. The faster I go above this speed, the more milage falls off. Above 70 mph, I don't get much better than 25 mpg in any weather.

Temperature also plays a role. As they decline, so does milage. Below 70F, I am hard pressed to get above 29 mpg, below 45F, I top out at about 26 mpg.

FWIW, All this assumes a constant driving style, of course. Driving conservatively raises milage as much as 5-6 mpg over aggressive driving. On the "mild to wild" scale, I tend to be more on the mild side generally.

When we decided to repaint the interior of our house (3400 sqft) we got one of these Werner ladders at Home Depot.

The hoop at the top did wonders to help me feel more stable & secure when painting trim on 11-ft ceilings. They also had an accessory tray that clipped onto the hoop to hold paint trays, brushes etc.

They have taller varieties, but the 8-ft did everything we needed up to 13-ft ceilings in the bonus room, and it was light enough that I could lug it up the stairs to 2nd floor rooms with no trouble.

I have shorter step ladders, but this is my go to for big jobs... gotta say, there's no way in hell I'd get up on more than a 12-ft ladder anyway, so there is that!

That's what the director of design for the new Corvette told his team according to this article. this article.

He said: We listen to our customers (mostly older men), but we want to capture the younger buyers, too. "Aren't we all 10-year olds at heart?"

I think that spirit captures the Slingshot design philosophy perfectly.

    🤠

Heck man, you're practically in the neighborhood! I live near Fayetteville and we get down your way occasionally. If you're going to ride up our way & call the Hogs, give me a shout & we'll go for a ride!
