Honda spray wax and cleaner.....Been using it since the 70's..

It also go under the name ; Original Bike Spirits spray cleaner and wax /Polish..This way the Harley dealers can sell it to their kool-aid crowd without insulting their insecure customers..

wjfyfe - sadly ..... yes I got the spark. I Am at a loss for wha it could be. No add on’s no changes to anything. The only change is the dealer changing out the coolant tank. To my knowledge that is all plumbing and not electrical . Good news is my battery is at 12.75, she started up on the first crank and I will just have to monitor it going forward. I will get the meter on it in the morning and see if there is any change.

I did install two battery posts for future charging and jumping if necessary. Just need to get the caps on the studs. Seemed the right thing to do since I had it all apart anyway. If I can’t find it, back to the dealership she goes. I’m good with a wrench not so much with a multimeter.

Not to correct any one....But i always have a battery on my work bench in my barn, For testing stuff and its not connected to anything...And at times when i put the charging clamps on the battery posts if i'm a little sloppy doing it i will sometimes get a spark.....

That said batteries are mysterious black boxes , And sometimes they will discharge for no reason...And when they are brought back to full charge they will be just fine....

I ride in the snow.....And for the last few weeks the temps were under 15*....One or two days below zero....And my Sling is coved in white salt and road dirt' mud. The seats were also coved in that slop , Today the temps went to 60* So i used what i always used on all my bikes and trikes ....Armor-all - Leather- Wipes....''On the seats and all the black plastic'' ...No water is needed..... For the Paint Honda spray cleaner -Wax...Again no water...The black looks like new as does the Paint....

Riding in the cold is all mind over matter, If you don't have a mind it doesn't matter...Dress properly and with the Slingshade its like riding on a Summer day...Like today, It was under 10 degrees and i had to do a short errand 15 miles or so...Piece of cake..

You really want to try something? Try about 80 PSI in your car/truck tires and drive it down the road. It is like bouncing a basket ball. I did not do this, I had a dealer install brand new tires, I wondered what in the hell was going on while I was driving down the road. So when I got home I checked the tire pressure on all 4 tires and they were 80 PSI, it makes for a very interesting ride.

They put the 80 psi to set the beads on the rim....And then forgot to bring it back down to Spec......

Over inflated tires will wear out the center of the tire first...

You the owner have to find the happy medium....And also trike tires have a tendency to balloon out at highway speeds..

Which will also add to center thread wear...

Niche vehicles don't need to "grow" to sell a bazillion units a year... The Morgan Auto Company has been making their niche vehicles since 1909 (including 3-wheelers)... They're still around.

Every person that's come up to me while refueling at a gas station has asked "where do you get these?"... That says a lot about the brand recognition (or the lack of it) and dealerships. They need to locate a few Polaris dealerships in auto malls where people can compare Apples to Oranges -- and "discover" the bargain priced Slingshots.

Most probably 90% of the people that ask me what is that, And when i say its a Slingshot....The next question is who makes it..Then When i tell them Polaris...After a puzzled look....They will say ''Never heard of them''....??

Polaris has been known to pull the plug on product lines in the past... I can see the S/S going down...No big deal to me i had a Victory so been there done that...And it wouldn't surprise me if Indian bites the dust a few years down the road.. ....

I got the backup camera recall notice. While the DATSling is at the dealer, I'm hoping they can install the Hawk 5.0 brake pads to help ameliorate the braking issues many of us have had (me too). 1) Will they do this for me and, if so, 2) does anyone have an idea what they might charge? I have a local indy about a mile away who could easily do it as well. Thanks in advance!

Ask the dealer.....If they say no and they probably will [liability] then go to the indy....

I keep a spray bottle in my garage mixed with water and Dawn dish soap, And when the belt starts squealing i wet it down..

That stops it for a while.... Slingshots are not precision machines they are made by people who's claim to fame is selling ATV's and Side-By's...And as such they Polaris have tin ears to odd noises coming from their products ,^^..

Something you .The SS undercarriage picked up on the road..

And fell off ....Or it was laying there from someone else's vehicle... Like how many times have you go back to the parked SS and then notice a oil spot and wonder if its from your SS.. When it was there already..=O..

"Mod itch" very addictive --- don't know of any one who has beat it. I did manage to handle the 12 step AA … may consider putting together a 12 step 'MA' but I don't know anyone who would consider joining...

    Just say No..........:)..

Everything was good on Saturday, decided to take a ride a few minutes ago and not enough voltage to crank. (10.2 volts) 2 month old Optima looks like something has changed since the ride Sat. It is on a 10 amp charge right now, hooked up at the alternator and fuse panel ground. We will see.

If you leave it on 10 amps too long you might fry the battery

1 1/2 To 2 amps is best....But at 10.2 Volts that battery is gone anyway...
