It's ultimately going to come down to what time CBM receives the PCM and what their work load is for the day. You have to remember we are in the prime start to race season which mean all automotive companies are extremely busy. While CBM is really good at getting things turned around you should always plan for 1-3 business days. So far I think the longest anyone has had to wait was 2 business days and it was because the sender had no order info, no note, and no return address. They just sent a random PCM in a box.

In my experience, most high volume companies would just put it to the side until someone called looking for their PCM since the sender didn't care to give any info at all. But Chris called me, we narrowed it down, I contacted the customer I thought it was and got the info and Chris got it out the next day.

You also have to take into consideration that the vast majority of companies out there are not like ZZP and ONLY work traditional hours of 9-5 Mon-Fri. So once it hits Friday at 5pm you won't typically hear from most companies until sometime on Monday or Tuesday. Sadly that is just industry standard. I'm not saying that CBM has never gotten a PCM turned around same day, a lot of times they do, but it just should not be an expectation.

Our covered trailer is not available for my run to Maggie Valley. I am interested in a waterproof trailer cover so I do not have to remove my race seat and harnesses or bag all of my gauges, (Yes, I'm being lazy, it's a pain in the ass) However, the ONLY option I have found that is actually listed as trailer-able is the Polaris one for around $465 and I have not found any used ones. Are there any other options that may be a little more cost effective or is anyone looking to sell one? I will likely use this thing MAYBE a handful of times as when my SS is parked, it is parked inside in our install bay and we are looking into another covered trailer low enough to get my SS in. My other thought was a waterproof cockpit cover and just trailer it backwards so it is not scooping where it lays across the windshield.

Mateo the best way to get a hold of me is to email me directly at Kyle@zzperformance.com I'm in and out of the office constantly so email is best which also allows me to respond while on the go and after regular business hours. LET'S GET YOUR SLING BOOSTED!!!

I'm not sure what all data it logs but I remember Bob telling me exactly how many hours were on my sling at the time of the tune

Could be other data lost also

It doesn't log anything that would be relevant or needed for the SS to function properly. Swapping out PCMs is not a big issue.

Wanna bet? You forgot to say 'Slingshot'.

So no swap? Swapping makes me wonder about the little bit of warranty I have left. I hope to hear some testimonials before the homecoming rally. Do you have any reflashes under your belt yet or is this still brand new?

Thanks for the quick response Kyle D , you continue to impress!

SlingLow Sorry, I worded that horribly. My apologies. That's what I get for responding while going through 300+ emails. I would need to keep your original PCM and I could use my SS to flash your NEW PCM. I do not think anyone would ever know you swapped a PCM out. It's only been on the 18 SLR we developed it on which the owner never drove because he decided he wanted a turbo kit the day before he picked it up and my 15 SL for a few spirited laps around our proving grounds in "Mexico". I've got 4ppl who have contacted me via my instagram page (insert shameless plug :00008356:) Mr._Slingshot that are planning on purchasing the tune but I am not sure any of them are on here. I try to answer on here as quickly as possible to keep myself in good standings with the masses.

Kyle D does the new hinge affect the hood height when closed? The current hinge extenders I have raised the hood far enough to put an unsightly gap between it and the front brow.

Everything is adjusted as best it can be and the mounting bar is not bent.

BryanL No, it will sit at the same level as stock. I have only put these on mine and one other SS but there are no gaps larger than from the factory.

This is a drop in replacement yes. Any additional parts needed really all depends on what your situation is, what your goals are, and WHY you're replacing the short block. Obviously, you'll need a new head gasket ($75). Since it's a new block you may as well put in head studs since they are reusable ($145). If you shoved a rod through the block you have material in the oil pump which is built into the front cover. In that scenario, you would want a new front cover ($150) and gasket ($20) otherwise you will push that material into your new engine and smoke it. A timing set would be highly recommended especially for the guys running boost ($300).

If you're going for a full on performance build, you could do cams and upgraded valve springs to combat valve float. We have a set of stage 2 cams coming out soon. They will probably be somewhere in the $800-$1000 range and will come with longer lash adjusters. Our 82# valve springs that come with titanium retainers are the best on the market. Those run $300. We also offer a ported head for $1275 which comes with the 82# valve springs installed.

Whether you’re planning on adding boost or just looking for a robust bottom end for your NA build, ZZPerformance has you covered with our ZZP Gen 3 Forged 2.4L Short Block. We start with a brand new GM Gen 3 bare block and crank. We then install a set of Molnar forged rods that have proven to be extremely durable under the harshest conditions. We then finish the build with a set of 88mm 10.4:1 compression Diamond forged pistons, which were made for us by Diamond to our exact specifications. Built from the ground up by our in house techs, you will not find a better short block for your build.

This is a fully assembled short block, including block, bearings, GM crank, pistons, & rings. Does not include the water pump, timing chain assembly (guides/chain), or the front cover. The parts we use are new. This is not a reman or used engine. We
do this to remove potential machining errors in bearing journals and clearances. This gives us the reliability of a new factory engine with the performance of forged internals.

    Includes:

    • New Gen3 2.4 block
    • New 2.4 Crankshaft
    • Diamond Forged Pistons
    • Molnar 4340 Connecting Rods
    • OEM Bearings

    Improvements in the block include:

-Cylinder wall bracing that prevents sleeves from breaking out in high HP applications

-Sand casting which removes porosity found in the older foam cast Gen 1 and Gen 2 blocks

-5 pounds of additional aluminum adding internal structural support and solves the coolant jacket leakage issues with Gen 2 blocks

Because this is a new engine from ZZPerformance there is NO CORE CHARGE.

    Important break in procedure:

We recommend running Comp Cams "break in" oil for the first 200 miles. Before you start the car with the new engine, we recommend that you fill with oil, then leave the injector harness unplugged and turn engine over until the oil pressure light goes out, or even better, use an oil pressure gauge. This ensures that you are starting the engine with full oil pressure.

When the engine is running in gear and at light throttle, bring it up to 4500rpm, then coast down to near idle(still in gear), then 5000, then 5500, then 6000, and 6500 each time letting it coast down to idle. This will help seat the rings. Then after a couple heat cycles, start running it under power.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to email me at Kyle@zzperformance.com

Doc&Ruby Yours left today. I will be sending along a 2nd package with the revised parts as soon as we have them.

SlingSC I would have to see the luggage racks and how the mount to see what may be possible.

Thanks for being patient guys. I know this is a big inconvenience. It's also quite embarrassing to say the least. But I will get everyone that needs their mounts to work on the 17+ sorted out.

It has come to my attention that even though they have the same part number the 2017 and newer slingshots have different roll hoop dimensions. Anyone with 2017 and newer Slingshot please get a hold of me as we are working on a solution to the problem as we speak. I apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused any of you.
