I occasionally use a leaf blower on mine.
My wife likes to work on cars like, oil changes, suspension work, brake work and other misc jobs. I set up the garage like a shop. Just missing lift.

Does anybody have these bags? (https://www.meansling.com/prod…ing-storage-bags-set-of-2)
My wife and I are wanting to take a trip to Rochester NY in May for a family reunion and needed extra storage. This idea was more in my price range.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the flap finishes the area nicely but it is a mistake to think it is keeping the area clean. I have never heard of a right angle drive failure attributed to heat build up but reduced airflow would increase the temperature of the drive.
Myself, I did run a flap, have since removed it since it was not as visible with saddle bags. I was surprised how much dirt and sand had collected there when I did.
So I wonder if it’s best to keep it open to clean it out. Take a air hose and blast it every other trip.
Correct me if I am wrong but the upgraded mounting bracket is the same height as the stock, more bling than function. There is some aftermarket mounts that actually lower the rear which would be more likely to bottom out.
The swingarm mud guard looks nice and stops a lot of the gravel from being flung onto the pivot point of the swingarm. Dirt and sand still collects there but is not seen with the mud guard in place(like sweeping dirt under the rug). A negative effect of the mud guard is it stops airflow pass the right angle drive.
Not sure about the mounting bracket but the airflow makes a lot of since.
Another slinger who I met on the road made the comment to add this mud flap. (Polaris Slingshot Swingarm Mud Guard from Rally Armor) He says it will keep rocks and degree from getting into a certain location that will cause problems. Also he mentioned about upgrading the rear shock lower mounting bracket because the original bracket allows the shock to bottom out. Any input?
Its possible to have it always on BUT you would need to split the LED bulbs inside to have half of it run for the running tail lights & the other half of the LED bulbs to activate upon the brakes being applied.....that is the issue you will have preventing you from making this work IMO....
I’ll take that as a no
I’m new here but he sounds like a man with lots of knowledge to be shared and taught. God speed and hurry back if ever possible.
Easter ride with new friends....Happy Easter!!
Look at the carpets by Mean SlingGreat stuff easy to clean
just found mean sling. Thank you.
It’s going to get scratched up...I bought a roll of black outdoor carpeting to make my own and now I’m debating about whether it will mildew if it gets wet....they have rubber mats...
https://www.slingmods.com/pola…bber-floor-mats?vehicle=3
and carpet mats.
We looked at those rubber mats. They didn’t scream come buy me. More like run away.
Not to move too far off topic, but do any of you have floor mats? Rubber or carpet? If carpet how do you keep them clean and how well does it do when wet?
My better halve is worried about scratching the existing floor.
Isn't "Liking" your own post about the same as patting yourself on the back?? Seriously!! Make your posts and let others pat you on the back whilst you pat others on the back... you know, like a circle jer.... uh, um... you know what I mean!!
some people like to look at them self’s in the mirror.
Ok...another thing that pisses me off....the freakin cup holders in the SS. My first full weekend with my SS and its Very hard to reach my drink. Still had a great day.
In California? You, father in-law, brother in-law and sister ar about it.
Quiet! don’t blow my cover! There ARE a few conservatives in the bushes out here!!
Rush hour traffic pisses me off. Why they call it rush hour when nobody is going the speed limit. Its just bumper to bumper.
Wanna know what pisses me off?????
CALIFORNIA
That state pisses me off to no end.
Followed by Washington State, New York City AND State, Washington D.C., Massachusetts,
Liberals you mean?
Only kidding...
Maybe....
Probably not.
Is it possible to have the center brake light always on like a running light and when you apply the brakes it gets brighter?
Ok...this is what they said. When they replaced the battery, because the SS wouldn’t start because of a dead battery, it blew both headlights and the brake module.
So they replaced the headlights so they work now and they bypassed the brake module so I have the center brake light now. They did order a new module.
Why do I need i module in the first place if you can bypass it?
@Heavenboundx4 - here's some SC activity!
I use to work in Cowpens. Let me talk to my better halve but we have extra rooms at our place in Greer if need be.
Hey we love to ride in southern VA and NC come north!
Lots of activity is probably due to population density? Who knows?? One thing that is for sure ~> we have some amazing places to ride around these parts. So yes, sell everything (but the sling) and move closer!
We do ride the dragon a lot. Good friends of the owners of Killboy. From motorcycles to GTR’s and now the SS.
Also to move to NC would mean to be further from the grandkids. I’ll drive the SS. It’s s win win for me.
