oh and this was not fun to see as well and could’ve been the culprit. When undoing the ground cable the cramped end slid right out of the wire so it had little to no contact. Could that have been the issue? I took it off and re-crimped everything in the vice after cleaning it up so I should have good contact now

Left mine on the charger last night and I have 13.3 V now so I’m assuming I’m back! The real head scratcher is what drained it. To my knowledge everything was off and unplugged so once I reinstall tomorrow I will be checking the alternator output. Since I have this all apart I am installing battery studs in the driver side compartment for jumping heaven for bid I should need it in the future. I have $12 invested in two studs bolts and washers.

Funinthesun what happened to you makes sense. I was thinking a little over a year to a year and a half for a battery was way too fast. Glad yours came back and mine too!

I checked all my switches and to my knowledge nothing was left on. Clearly something drained the battery in half but as of now I’ve got a ghost ...

If I get a charge on this like DER said and it starts tomorrow I will check the alternator output as well. Going to hit the hardware store tomorrow for some studs to install some external posts in the compartment behind the driver seat as well

    Just checked it and I have 12.5 V now . I may have dodged a bullet 🙂

Thank you for that. Nothing is changed wiring wise and in the year and a half I’ve had it I have never turned the key without it turning over. To be at 5.8 V I was just wondering if this vehicle puts such a large demand on such a small battery they just up and die.

What do you think drained yours?

I used C-4 from the claymores to cook ''C'''s in Nam..

Back in my commercial diving days it would show up in the job box. We would stuff it into an 8 inch firehose with a baseball bat. We would make a dive, wrap it around The abandoned sealed off well head, set the P.E.T.N lead cord , Touch it off and eat some of the best fish and fill the freezer. That’s how we used to abandon oil well head casing at the mud line in the Gulf of Mexico😎

    Wild wild west

went out to my sling to turn the key today and absolutely nothing. The only thing that turned on was the light behind the starter switch. Pull the battery and it sits at 5.8 V. This battery is about a year and a half old. She has only sat for about eight or nine days. Do I need to start looking for shorts or is this all we can expect out of theses batteries ? I have it on a trickle charger now but this is a sealed battery and wondering if it’s worth it or not. Any insight would be appreciated. Perplexed ...

Schuberth Concept Helmet. Integrated internal sunvisor which flips up/down with the flick of a switch. Anti-fog everything. Great adjustable ventilation by moving a slide, very little wind noise, designed in Schuberth's wind tunnel and has integrated turbulators. Convenient to use -- it's a flip-up helmet. The model I'm using is several years old, but if I had to replace it I'd get another:

Interesting name for a helmet “C-4 “. I have used that stuff and I wonder if the manufacture was intentional with its name. ;)

Mine is a flip up too, but when it does it I have to go buy a new one :P

ALWAYS have on the wrap a round shades though!

I know this is gunna ruffle a few feathers but we can ride a full day and narry get more than a bug or two around here. If at all.

In my defense I have ridden in the great state of Louisiana and any that have been or are there know what that's all about - love bugs are NO fun!

After we came back from a trip to states were helmets were not required we just could not bring ourselves to put them back on in California. Seven months later no issues and have had a state trooper help us on the side of the road once with a flat tire and he never mentioned it once. These are our helmets now . One for her one for me 🙂

Hummm guess I should consider changing my picture of me and the Co-Pilot now ...

This below is an excerpt from the NYT editorial today... Every day of the week I would give 3 billion in tax incentives to gain 25,000 jobs and 27 billion in tax revenue. But that's just me. At the end of the day like it or not the business of America is Business. It is the ingenious people of this great nation that innovate, produce and create. This unmatched engine of commerce produces revenue for the government. Period. The government produces nothing. It confiscates and redistributes. The socialists dream, and it is just that, a dream, can not happen without other peoples money. Amazon would have provided a tremendous asset to NY. To bad the people of New York couldn't see that.

There were all sorts of problems with the deal New York cut to bring Amazon to the city, and Amazon is no paragon, but its abrupt withdrawal was a blow to New York, which stood to gain 25,000 jobs and an estimated $27 billion in tax revenue over the next two decades. This embarrassment to the city presents a painful lesson in how bumper-sticker slogans and the hubris of elected — and corporate — officials can create losers on all sides.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mr. de Blasio, in a rare fit of comity, rolled out the red carpet for Amazon, for what would have been one of the biggest economic deals ever in the state. They offered the company $3 billion in tax benefits to build a campus in the Long Island City neighborhood. But it was clear as soon as the company, governor and mayor announced the deal in November that not all New Yorkers felt welcoming.
