Try to drive one before you buy it. IMHO, the poor visibility is a troublesome thing, especially if you are tall.

I have the ability to buy one at 22% off and that brings the price down to the TD version sale price. I like the way it looks better, but I am on the taller side and there looks to be more headroom in the TD version. So not sure. Worth a look I guess.

Just thankful for being alive and with my family. Able to do slingshot stuff and thankful for having others with like interests. But being alive kind of is high on that list. Wasn't sure how that was going to go 5 years ago... working out for so far LOL.

    O',... and pictures like this...

There seems to be a LOT more options for tires on the 20x11 wheel, no? Unfortunately, the Toyo T1R 345mm won't fit it as you need the 12".

Kev, I really like the windshield, but I drive with the lower profile tinted shield and look over it so nothing is in my field of view. I took a ride in one with a high shield and the distortion looking side by side was terrible and gave me a headache. Thoughts?

I’m looking at possibly moving the rear 20x9 to the front, but need a second wheel. Anyone have one they want to sell? I know I’ll have to put some spacers in to correct the offset. Was going to mount some Toto 255mm to them.

So anyone sat in the TD Gull Wing and the Slingshade? I believe the entire top of the TD Gull Wing is see thru, no? I'm worried about being 6' tall and I use a modular helmet.

Also, can you remove the wings from either in the summer?

I use this ones which where recommend by @rabtech, We where pulled over ones in VA on out way home from SSITS 2017 the State Trooper did not say anything.

Thanks @mytoy Those I think you have the red push button release, no? Ones I got are below, but my seats haven't come in yet.

PS... Need to catch up with you sometime @mytoy... I come down to see the folks in Bethlehem PA a few times per year.

Does anyone have a preference on 4 point harnesses. I see Beard, Tanaka, Pro Armor, Polaris and too many more to name. I assume I would want to use a SFI certified set. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Leaning towards the first three mentioned.

My take... comes down to my question above... does it really matter if something is DOT approved or not and personal preference. If you have NRG equipment in general or what not. Most of my items are Sparco, so I went with Sparco. The straps are not DOT approved though. Also, how much money do you want to spend? They can go from $40 to $400 per seat. 2" v/ 3" shoulder straps, etc.

Thanks @gearhead. I love the numbers and science behind it. Not going to say I understand it all, but I copied it over to my notebook and will start picking it apart. I understand what you have, just need to educate myself a bit for the lightbulb moment LOL. Awesome info.

Asanti wheels - can get you a pic if you need it

Absolutely! Do you have exposed fasteners? Would be nice to see what they look like. I keep second guessing if I want the 3 part and can definitely find non-forged rims cheeper, but I don't think I'll like them more. Problem is, I can't find anyone in my area that has a touches tire mounter and not many want to risk scratching the rim when mounting the tires.

@Bill Martin - I know this isn't the "wheel" thread, but they do fit in a bit. I think you said you had 3 part forged rims. Do you have any pictures and what size/type wheels and tires you have? I'm looking at the 3 part wheels myself... anyone else have some images and tire sizes? How much horsepower you pushing them with?

Here is a pic of the 315 on a 22" rim:
The part of the cylinder that could come in contact with the tire is right at 2.90" according to the trusty digital caliper. Im not sure how that compares to the stock spring. Anyone got that measurement?
The adjustable suspension has held for over 7k miles now and has saved my ass more than a few times. I'm pushing over 300hp to the rear wheel with the 95mm pulley upgrade for DDMs supercharger. Anymore questions feel free to ask.

My math isn't working out but sounds like the tire would hit the support arm before it hits the shock. SlingMods is carrying RevDynamics now and they are saying it's smaller than the stock shock, so should fit. My main concern was the rubber boot impacting it, but looks like it's well above the tire and even if lowered wouldn't hit. Was worried that going with a 345 may hit it, but sounds like it would be fine. Thanks! I love this group LOL!

Personally, I'm all over the place. I really like the Ridetech Shcokwave air shocks, but not sure if it's not better to have the ability to adjust and fine tune my shocks more granularly. I just really like the ability to raise and lower the sling with he air shocks for even just simple things like speed bumps. I wonder how the raising and lowering and how it impacts the tension on the rear belt though and if you lower it, how that impacts the alignment.

Key is everything I'm trying to do is pushing forward for a Turbo or SC upgrade which I want all these other items done before that happens. Shocks, tires, some cosmetic changes to make it nicer on the inside... mods to steering... want that all out of the way first.

@rabtech, @MACAWS, @SlingRider, any opinions on the shocks with a higher horsepower machine (or anyone else with over 300HP... sorry, I only know a few for sure)? What about the rear tire and wider v/ narrower?

My issue is that the stock 255mm tire gets squirrely on me all the time. I can fish tail the thing going out of a parking lot real easy and I have a stock engine. I can chirp the tire real easy going to 2nd and 3rd. I know I have a lead foot, but I worry increasing the HP to over 525HP so I can compete with @rabtech ( ) is never going to happen unless I can get a grip on my ass end. And yes, I know some of it comes down to knowing HOW to drive, but in my case with a stock engine, the 255mm tire just sucks.

Anyone try the RidetechShockwaves with a 345? I'm guessing it won't fit, but not sure how close it is. Only one I know running them is @WraithSS, but he's got a 315 on the back. @WraithSS, how wide are those shocks in comparison to the stock? Do the bags interfere with he tire clearance what so ever? Have any pictures of your ass end :-)

Not much rain out here in Kalifornia... I don't risk any water with drag tires, DOT or not. If I were to run into any rain on the road with the MT ET Street-R -- I'd just park it where it's dry and hang out. I did run across some wet pavement with one of my other rear tires, a Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR (in 26x12x18). Wet, that tire felt like the stock base model Kendas -- squirmy and greasy. And, the MT Sportsman SR's are steel belted all weather rated and have a pretty good and deep tread pattern. The rear end of the Slingshot is very light, so even the best of tires would be challenged in the rain. The weather apps have become pretty good, so you can accurately predict rain ahead of time. If you do get a MT Street-R, keep your other rear wheel/tire (you'll have to get another rim in 12x18 with a +45mm offset for the MT Street-R's anyway). If you anticipate rain, just swap wheels. If it's going to be dry, run with the drag tire. If you're planning on going on any long trips, you probably wouldn't wanna run the MT Street-R's -- they're glass belted and have little puncture resistance.
    Hope this helps...

Awesome. Yes. I usually don't drive it in the rain, but never know. Want to do some longer trips this next year, so was just curious and want a larger tire as I can spin the stock 255 wheel in 1-2-3 with traction control on and really want a wider tire. I'll be going to some sort of engine upgrade as soon as I have the wheels, shocks and cosmetic upgrades I want.

    Thanks again!
