That's a good thing! I know some feel their favorite of the year won't be a contender, mine included, but those are usually my favorite to see. Really gives you insight to what the slingshot means for different members. Some really great entries so far. Please keep them coming regardless if you think it'll win. We may break the forum but it will be for a good reason

So ironically I will leave the politics out of this post in the political thread. I will leave my thoughts and opinions and move on. I got up this morning as I usually do at 3am to head to work. Working an "essential" job to feed America from one of the covid infested factories that America can't stand. After finally getting to leave at 4pm I got to make my stops quickly and head home to help my kids with their school work since it's not "safe" enough for them to go in person. Get them fed and in the bed so we can do it all again tomorrow... and then again the next day. However, on this day I had no chance at work to be informed or understand the magnitude of what was happening in this country. I got an idea based on the radio comments during the hour drive home in traffic. My kids filled me in on the rest as coincidentally enough they are in government class this semester. So after discussing with them over dinner the events of today and my reassurance that I'll protect them from anything this world throws at us so they can sleep another night I sent them to bed with the prayer that god willing the sun will rise tomorrow, the clock will keep turning, and we'll be faced with another day of triumphs and tragedies.
Moving on to my point with this post, once they were taken care of my next thought turned straight to this forum as I had a feeling this thread would be rather busy. I just wanted to stop to say that you guys are on my mind as well. The ones I respect, the ones I have doubts about, the ones I admire, the ones that make me scratch my head... all of you. I just wanted it to be known and speak the obvious that were here on a Slingshot forum. We have the choice and the freedom to participate in this thread or not. But if you choose to, I just ask that you remember we're family here under one common passion. The slingshot. The world is crazy. The country is in a place many have never seen and only read about, in a place that hopefully my children's children will only read about from a country united as the way it was intended and fought for. God willing the sun will rise tomorrow and the clock will keep on ticking. We will move to better days. Better days to ride. To mod. To gather. Past this divide. Past this pandemic. Past the biblical weather. Past all the craziness. There will be Slingshots in the smokies. Slingshots coast to coast. Unity that I witnessed breaking a Slingshot world record. We will be here to discuss the next person debating between getting a turbo charger or a quad kit. Showing off the latest matchbox car they found. The latest curves and twisties that roasted another back tire...... I expected this thread to be busy. I'm not asking anyone to stay or to leave. I'm just asking to love one another. I've had the fortune to meet a few of you, but for most, I couldn't tell you apart no matter what side of the protest you were on, BUT, I could more than likely identify you by your Slingshot. It doesn't care your opinion on today's events, and when this country this world let's us back to riding it will be Slingshots one after the other. As soon as the politicians get done pretending to care and back to their millions, we'll get back to our Slingshots that make us feel like we have millions(or atleast spent the equivalent on upgrades). They don't care on capitol about a Slingshot. Just remember that when the dust settles and we're left here with our dysfunctional three wheel(4 for some) family. We will ride again as one Slingshot community. Take care of one another in the meantime. We have something here they could obviously use in DC, not the other way a round.

"Your Favorite Slingshot Photo Of 2020"
With a year now behind us that can easily layer the negatives, this next competition will give us the chance to focus on some of the positives. Let's see your favorite Slingshot photo of last year. I know even with everything going on I saw some great pics posted across the forum that would fit this topic perfect. Should give the opportunity for quite a few entries. Let's get 2021 started off right!
Deadline will be January 29th, 2021.
Rules and guidelines:
-The photo must be of your own Slingshot (real full-size Slingshots). If the picture submitted is not of your own vehicle, it will not be included in voting. And if need be, the photo will be deleted from the entry thread. It is known that some members may own more than one Slingshot.
- Use your own picture (not pictures from outside sources).
- Photo Shopping pictures or extreme editing is not allowed unless specified by the topic chosen.
- Stay within the competition's parameters (for example, if the rules are "Your Slingshot and Snow," only post a picture that has both your Slingshot and snow in it). Photos that do not comply with the topic will not be included in voting.
- Pictures should show off not only your sling, but also you photography skills. Be creative with your shots.
- One entry per member. Let us know which your entry is by typing "This is my entry:" above your picture. You can change your entry during the time of the competition but once time runs out you cannot change your entry or submit a photo. Once the deadline comes, THERE WILL BE NO MORE EDITING!
- The contest aims to last for the month, depending on the number of entries (competition will run longer if less entries are submitted, and
vice versa).
- After time is up, a new thread will be started for voting. The voting thread may be a "blind" poll, which means the results will be revealed after the end of the voting time line or once a member has voted. Forum members will vote on a winner. The member that wins the competition will come up with the theme/topic for the next competition.
- Once a photo wins a contest that photo will be added to the winners circle then "retired" and can not be used again unless for a specific contest.
- Have fun! Keep your comments constructive.
- Deadline: January 29th, 2021

MAN! This one slipped by me but I’m glad to see so many really cool entries. Hopefully I will have a chance to be in the next one with the new sling 😎
I'm definitely pulling for ya and hate to see what happened. Just glad you guys are safe and have more adventures ahead. If we didn't live on opposite ends of the country I'd let you borrow mine for the photo ops alone while you were searching for your next sling. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be giving us hard competition again before you know it.

why hasn’t anybody mentioned all the gun shots heard before the warning message?
Rumor is....it was a terrorist attack on the AT & T electronic information center and the bad guys were eliminated.....reason for the no fly zone to keep prying eyes from seeing stuff they weren’t supposed to...like too many dead bodies for a lone wolf attack story....
you’ll never hear the gun shots mentioned again from authorities.....it’s already under the rug..Just had this sent to me. Can't see the ship from independence day with the light beam but it was another video none the less.

In my defense I try to refrain from posting in this thread but I do follow it for the discussion from both sides. Sometimes I have questions for both sides. What better place to ask! The colorful commentary is so much better than turning on the tv. Plus this forum is as close to social activity as I get. Just trying to do my part to keep the ball going back and forth. If not this thread would be BD's personal podcast.

Sooooo.... had he stood his ground you would've attacked him for not caring about the american people and letting the country fall apart while hiding on his golf course. Kinda damned if you do damned if you don't huh? Don't sign the bill and there are people attacking/sign the bill and the same people are attacking. Flashbacks of spring with the same people close the borders! Wait your racist for closing the borders! Shut the country down! Wait your killing the economy! Mask are not needed. Wear a mask! He's lying about rushing a vaccine. I'm not taking his vaccine that he delivered like he said he would! And the beat goes on. Just as much as those people are excited to see him go I'm excited those people will finally have a chance to stfu... until they realize the other side doesn't care about them either and bring on the temper tantrums again. Which is Ironically another thing they complain about now. He's a man child. Kinda the pot calling the kettle orange don't ya think?! As everyone is still attacking for his refusal to admit defeat any other person would've gladly packed their bags and walked out the door laughing saying you want it take it. Sometimes it's not worth it.
So I am curious, what would you do in that position? Would you have stood your ground and refused to sign or folded like a wet napkin?

Looks to me like we may have gotten lucky with the car bomb going off in Nashville with no death reports so far. Something is amiss here. Why would a bomb go off so early in AM on Xmas day in a non crowded area. Just doesn’t make any sense to me unless it’s preparation for something else more sinister. What you guys think??
As of right now it seems as if it was a very strategic placement. There was apparently some sort of major communications hub in one of those buildings. I frequent many of those restaurants down that street and even I was unaware of this. Most people I know from Nashville and the surrounding areas even up to Kentucky with att or direct tv have been down since the explosion. Took out many emergency management lines as well. Been getting call and text updates all morning to let us know that all emergency numbers are down except 911 and a reminder to only use it in an actual emergency. I originality thought it was to draw the police in but to have an announcement for 15 minutes coming from the rv with a countdown, sounds like this building was their target and they wanted no casualties. But that's just my assumption. Past that I have no idea on the motive or their agenda, just that it could've been a lot worse 12 hours difference in either direction.
