Y'all are awesome!!
Truth, I'm just really thankful we didn't get pummeled by the major storm that ripped though our area yesterday (literally right up the street from where we live): https://www.wcnc.com/article/n…1d-4df0-a63f-493a1a5422a0
I’m all for having an automatic transmission as an option... while certainly not for me, it does mean more slings will be on the road (and that’s always good for the side-by-side market).
*Besides, maybe some younger millennials (in their shiny new automatics), can challenge us old farts on track day...
Yeeeeeeessssssss ~> We’re in!!!
Date doesn’t matter... we’ll make it work!!
Made it back to Charlotte last night... what an AMAZING time!!
Always down to improve my driving game... you teaching Dave@DDMWorks ??
Lets... Do... THIS!!!!
In december... it could be quite, uhm, nipply for that ride... 950 miles at about 14 hours of riding, and I'd either have to drive it on track tires or haul it...
Sadly, I'm going to have to pass... Get another one near the time of Maggie and I'll be there
ericastar76 , a while back you posted a source for high quality halos which I checked out at the time but I don't remember the name now. I guess you chose the TricLED lights for your Sling. Can you elaborate?
Time crunch was the deciding factor... wanted to put halos on before the trip up to Clarksville for the wine festival at MACAWS (I was burning the candle from both ends buttoning every up from my winter build and it was just easier to get them from SlingMods).
Truth is, I’m pretty happy with them. I would recommend them only if they are wired to a dedicated power source. I’ve seen too many TricLED lights fail because they were wired wrong into the harness. The lights are quality, but I’m a stickler for my own wiring.
The other lights I was going to use we’re Profile Prism. https://www.theretrofitsource.…ile-pivot-switchback.html
ericastar76 If I may ask. What kind of camera do you use for your recordings of your drives?
I primarily use the Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 (https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/522869)
Quality is fantastic and video stabilization is second to none! 😎👍🏻

4 angel eyes... simple to wire in and function as my main DRL’s.
Put together a short video of Thursday's ride into Bristol... (the roads are so relaxing and chill)!
You know I’m game... LET’S DO THIS!!!!
This was a wonderful experience for the wife and I. We met some of the most wonderful people on this trip! Big Big thank you to 123hotdog and his lady for putting up with all of us and for the effort that went into this event. Thank you to Ghost for helping us get there and back safely and for introducing us to the sling community! Was a bit timid in coming knowing that my sling was mostly stock, but all of you guys made our sling feel right at home without all of the mods, and we thank you guys so much. Looking forward to next year!!
“without all of the mods” ... yeah... hmmm...... that won’t last long!
We’re home (safe and sound)...
Tim/Denise ~> you both nailed it!! sideslinger and I has a BLAST and can’t wait to do it all over again next year!!
Special thanks to everyone who made the trip out to Bristol (it’s always great to spend time with y’all) and to all the folks who helped “behind-the-scenes” to make this a HUGE SUCCESS (you know who you are)!!
This event was everything an SS event should be... family... slings... AND RIDING!!!!!
This picture will one day be hanging in the local post office.
I think I know these people!!!!! That cop looks kinda young. He might think a flip phone is some type of explosive device.
Scored my cutie... err... I mean, LEO pic in Boone!
The plastic housing on your SS has a 100mm OD. The lights OD look to be 90mm... grab a cheap micrometer to test to be sure.
If all goes according to plan, I’ll easily make the 4pm ride (heading out at noon... ETA: 3pm)
See y’all soon...
Less than 24hrs now...
Heading out @ noon ~> LET’S DO THIS!!
