Other than Kay leading us down a newly chip and seal for three miles, everything is going great! A lot of tar to clean off when I get back home!

How about all the coverage of the Antifa and Solidarity Against Hate riot in Seattle that took place yesterday (masks, body armor, 2x4's, shields, portable barricades, pepper spray, tear gas, flash bangs, flag burning .. according to what I hear today you are a "domestic terrorist" if you show up intending to "disrupt and do harm") after they ran off the Christian Pro-Trump prayer groups planned protest supporting free speech. All the mayhem started after the prayer group had long left the area.

I really don't care what the media or anyone else has reported or said, White Supremacist and Neo-Nazi groups have no place in our society today. Adolf Hitler tried those ideals and we fought a world war over it. When I was in basic training, I had a Guatemalan drill sergeant who on day one stood in front of the troops and said, "This is my Army, and all of you who are in MY Army are GREEN! Some of you are light green and some of you are dark green, but you are ALL green!" We are all people of the world. Why in the hell can't we get along? Our President has stated "Make America Great Again", he needs to come out and say that doesn't mean "Make America WHITE Again". His words speak loudly, so does his silence. Quit blaming this on the media. It's our fault.

I would like to add one thing. Before I quit I tried several times and failed. The Dr. told me to quit, I failed, My wife want us to quit I failed. The list of failures goes on and the one thing that was different when I finally got it right was that the time when I was successful I quit because I really wanted to quit
If deep down you dont really want to quit for yourself and not because someone else wants it you will fall back and fail
You have to in your own mind really want it and if you do then it will stick
As a little motivation, think of all the mods you can buy with the money you will save? take whatever you would spend each week on smokes and set it aside and then when it has grown reward yourself with mods
I just bought PRP seats with my savings!

I'm not trying argumentive, it just sounded like the e-cig might be the way to go. The VA just called, and they'll be sending me chantex. So I guess I'll be going thst route. Thanks for all the input, it's greatly appreciated. Wish me luck, or will power, or something, lol
Forget the e-cig, I tried that and hated it. Get on the Chantix after you have made up your mind to quit. Take it exactly as it says! In a week you will see yourself cutting down. It got to the point with me that I would only smoke half a cigarette. Set a date about 3 weeks out from when you start to quit for good and get rid of everything involved. I did it and so can you. If you need help, message me!

I smoked for over 50 years, so I not one to preach. You have to decide which you want to deal with. They have already told you that they will not do the back surgery if you are smoking. How's that pain working out for you? Is that reason enough or do you still want that nagging cough each night before you go to sleep. How do you think it feels when your grand kids tell you that you stink? Do I still want a smoke after quitting? You bet but I just remember why I gave it up and move on. Just the other evening, my wife and I were out in the Sling for a ride and she pulls out a pack of Juicy Fruit gum as we were going 40mph and I got the smell that I hadn't had in years! Man did that gum taste good. It's all up to you. Decide when you want to quit making excuses. I finally did!

The problem for your surgery is the nicotine! You're just delivering it in a different manner. You have to get past this I can't quit thing. I used that excuse for 50 years.

That's the hard part, I don't want to quit, I enjoy it. I'm a boring person and that's my only vice. If I had it my way, I'd be smoking during the surgery, I hear it goes well with oxygen, lol
Well you just explained your problem. You can't quit if you don't want to. I used Chantix and haven't had a smoke for 8 months now. But I wanted to quit. Started at 35 cents a pack and they went over $6.00. Immediately had over $200 in spendable cash. You might as well forget it if you don't want to do it.

@Orangeman I agree can never know what it would be like. I just have listened and asked questions to my brother a two different front combat veteran Iraq and Bosnia. He was a sniper and he didn't seem to care one way or the other. My brother though is probably the most anti-social person and likes to stay to his own. So maybe I should branch out to ask more people. Like I said in my post just my opinion and it worth what I'm charging you for it. I voted for and would vote again for trump. Just for the record I've never voted for a single democrat in my life yet. So I support the guy who made the ban.
Just because you vote for one party or the other does not mean that you have to support everything that they propose. That is the definition of a fascist government. Our system is based on 3 tiers, all of which are equal. One persons opinion should not shift the balance. You still have the right to think for yourself.
