Will this fit with the +3 windshield from F4? Can you put up some picks showing headroom and clearance getting in?

Will the tops fabric be available in other colors like red??

I have been running @mniron hood pins for a little while now. I watched the video. No way sir. My hood is rock solid. Are you really going to go cheap on a part that could cost you $1,000 plus to replace? My hood is rock solid at 100mph thanks to his pins. This is a situation where you get what you pay for.

Dave,
Sent you a PM on ordering parts of the kit

Running an innovate gauge from DDM. Measuring AFR and boost. Running a V2 1320 header with Alpha side exhaust. O2 bung was welded by Alpha in the side exhaust about 6-7 after turbo. Running BoB tune. Vacuum is t'd off by intake. No leaks that I can see. Highest I have seen is 7.2

Next weeks delivery for Rab will be a DDM Super Charger...then a John V....then....

Now that the cat is out of the box i'll chime in. The tubular manifold. It is a hand made Alpha part but I have to give credit were it is due. I did not personally hand make this manifold. DJ my lead fabricator makes all of these by hand. Speaking of Dj not to be a downer but his grandpa that was pretty much his dad passed this morning. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts/prayers as this is a very very difficult time for him. The talent and steady hands are amazing if you think about it. That manifold was the last thing he made while knowing his grandpa had only days.
Ok on to the turbo kit. The kit Rab got is our basic kit plus the optional turbo manifold and turbo side exit exhaust. We have been very conservative with power since the beginning not knowing what the limits of this engine in a sling would hold. Now that we know what the limits are and what can be done to safely turn up the boost this turbo should yield some stunning results. It is not hard making BIG hp but containing a turbo that wants to stretch its legs to such low boost levels is always harder. The air flow and efficiency of the kit is amazing. So all of you that have Alpha kits and want to turn up the juice you now can with a few steps!
-------------------------------
@Turbosling Henry. You stated something interesting. A few steps to be able to turn it up knowing its limits? I have the exact setup that you sent Rab. I have the ARP head studs. I am running the red and natural springs which I am seeing 7lbs of boost. What would be the next step or spring? Also I know Alpha is looking to possibly build some reinforced engines as well. Henry can you elaborate on that? Is Alpha going to do something similar as DDM with engines?

Thanks for the great review and compliments.
I had the chance to visit @mniron yesterday and got my hood locks installed. Up here in MN there are lots of two lane highways. It's also very open plains. It drove me nuts! to see the front sides of my hood flapping up. I always felt like the hood was going to lift off. This ranks up there in my top five best mods. Piece of mind. Plus it can't be good for even the structural integrity and longevity of the hood flexing in the wind like that. I was teasing Phil that it probably may give me another 2-3 mpg savings as the thing lifting was a wind foil. It's a simple design that was carefully thought out by an experienced engineer. -
How about the hoses and fittings? We thinking like a week?

Anyone owning a Slingshot located in the south metro? Apple Valley, Burnsville, Lakeville, Eagan areas? Haven't seen any yet. Would be cool to find someone in the south end to ride with and work on the slings.

You know we have disproved many myths...
One is the myth that you need heavy valve springs.... (If your not trying to go past the rev limit set at 6500rpm)
One is the myth that the stock fuel pump cant handle the high hp needs. (each bike may have special requirements)
One is the myth that the stock clutch can hold over 350hp.. It cant... (it cant if you really use all the hp)And we now know the side exit exhaust can flow enough for the X2 system but not even close to 16PSI (most will be fine with whatever exhaust they have unless shooting for max power)
And we know that the large center fed fuel rail will definitely help to get the fuel to large boosted engine with the stock pump (because we have seen the small stock rail have trouble keeping the AFR at a good number at 10.2 PSI)
I guess these are things that people have been asking and debating... Now we know

@rabtech thanks for the explanation. They are running an Alpha. These types of explanations really help. Any concern running a 2 bar map instead of 3 bar over the 14.7? I have seen a lot of posts on the tuner forums that say this can lead to issues. Most likely your rarely hitting that level. Do they have a 3 bar for us? Has Bob tuned for that?
-
@rabtech. Did you ever figure out the boost? I know of another Sling that runs 15 lb boost and is around 400 horse. Just wondering what would be so different? You use race gas? Also with a 2 bar setup won't it only fuel from the 14 PSI row? Did you switch to a 3 bar setup to get over the 14.7 PSI? When looking at other Cobalts that have run Hahns system with a 2 bar map and up to the 14 PSI they were no where near 500 HP. So what was your secret?

Ouch! @Turbosling Dave used the word "Upgraded!!!" Great deal on a turbo though.
-
I updraded to the new sway bar. First thing you will notice is the weight. It's the same size around but the DDM bar is 30% thicker. I have dual adjustable Viking coilovers. I have less lean than I did before. I definitely noticed it. Very easy install.

There was a report today of a tornado in the Carolinas!? No wait..it was just Rabtechs turbo sucking all the oxygen out of the air!!
-
Well there goes another $5K soon. I blame @rabtech
Also it's embarrassing that your Sling has 5 more HP than my 1972 Chevelle!!
@Turbosling. Henry I think this is now a challenge. We need to build my engine with the Alpha and make a run at the Hahn.....
-
What exhaust do you have now?
-
You were having trouble before getting over 14. What was the difference? Was it the exhaust?
Did you talk to Dave about with that kind of power will his engine hold up to it even built? Obviously your not using that power all the time
