Have you considered the Madstad Stinger top? The top panels remove in 30 seconds without the need for tools and can be reversed if you decide to go topless while on the road.

Actually that was the first top i wanted before even buying my SS, but on TDS someone said it started rattling @highway speeds after a few months.

Aesthetically and functionally the madstad was my first choice for the features you mentioned +top LED and controls but i don't want something that is going to introduce a bunch of weird noises since the SS has plenty as it is,it doesn't need any more.

always get a set of Deep impact sockets and a breaker bar from HF to use as a Wheel tool for every vehicle, because i think this combo is way better than whatever crap you get from the manufacturer.

I think my Air compressor came from HF too, my torque wrenches are snap-on since i figured that is the ONE thing where you absolutely can't go cheap, otherwise everything else is either craftsman and B & D for power tools.

My next tool purchase(i hope) will be one of those jacks/lifts that @MACAWS has for his Slingshot, always wanted something like that but always thought(without even looking i might add) that it would be like 10k+ for one.

Personally i just want the top to be removable without too much work, i am not planning on removing the arms when the top is off.

On a separate note, any thought or possibility of increasing the diameter of the side arms in order to make it look a little more "oem" like.

Also can they be used(strong enough) as a grab arm to support yourself getting in or out of the sling?

Those are cool as hell, man, but.....do you know how much ammo you can buy for $300?

Only planning on buying 2/3 of the tools i see or you know someone that you must introduce to the rest of us.

Last i checked that set was north of $450 :whistling:

So, as some of you know, I have been waiting to buy my slingshot due to recovery from surgery on my arm. Well, I'm FINALLY better! (80%, better than expected, but I'll take it)

I'm ready to buy, but now it's so far into the 2017 run that I'm wondering if there will be a 2017.5 like they've done I the past. Possible new colors?
I've waited way too long to be able get one, but debating waiting a little longer to see what's available if they do a mid year.
    Has anyone heard anything?

My personal view on the matter is that if you think about it there is always something better about to be released/announced in a few months and if you wait for it you will be waiting for all eternity.

If you like the current slingshot(s) and you find one that you like and fits whatever criteria of a budget you have setup then buy it.

or.....you could put a top on it... just saying :thumbup: . All kidding aside, several of us ride these to work several times a week and down here in west Texas it's hotternshit so yeah... a top is almost a necessity.

well i am waiting on @Ruptured Duck to release his top to make my final decision between his and Gull Wing.

A top that can easily removed is something that can't be ignored, that feature alone has prevented me from buying the gull wing.

Oh wow those make my craftsman set look like caveman's tools........which is ok since they cost 10 times as much.

Someday i will stop being so cheap and buy decent tools.

Anyways that is some real ToolPorn that you have in your hands there!

Once riding season gets here for me i am planning on alternating between the sling a other toys as daily drivers on nice days.

My concern is that the lot where i park for work is outdoors, which means the Sling would be getting hit by the sun for several hours and this might make the sling too hot to comfortably ride afterwards.

Does any of you park outside where it gets nuked for the better part of the day and how do you handle it. I was thinking of getting a windshield-shade and placing it over the seat/steering console but then i realized that wind might have something to say against this idea....

With the SS rated at 173 HP, I assume that's at the crank. Lucky to get 160 at rear wheel stock. Bump that 50/65 HP, that's about all you can get to the ground without feathering the throttle if running the twistys. It will make hard line acceleration up to 60 MPH at the edge of breaking loose or possibly breaking loose. The large number HP would be fun at 90 MPH and then hitting it, but that's usually about the fastest I tend to go on a regular basis. Most of my riding is 0-80.... even 0-65 honestly. 225 RWHP would be likely all the fun I'd need to keep me happy, and could be done keeping reliability.

If DDMWorks pursues in this direction, put me on the list of wanting it.

As i said before Turbo/SC have no appeal to me due to my driving style but if DDM were to do something like this and improve the NA crowd i would do it in a heartbeat as well.

If you use something like the cable posted by tripod and directly connect it to the RCA input on the amp there is a 99.9% chance that you will automatically fry the amp(the digital decoders to be exact ) unless you have an amp that has a dual purpose RCA that has a 1x/10x selector, this is very uncommon now a days and only older amps tend to carry it.

Here is a popular Line Converter(LC)
Amazon.com: PAC SNI-35 Variable LOC Line Out Converter: Car Electronics

Personally i try to avoid "LC" like the plague because they introduce a lot of distortion most of the time.
