Well things have moved on, while I was ill.
The, SlingShot, garage has been built and is now, only, waiting for the electrical fit-out (still may take some time).
We had some additional groundwork done at the side of the area, where we were going to put the building, cutting into the bank, with some sleepers used to give a retaining wall.
British building regulations, restrict the maximum size & position of the building. So we had to calculate sizes carefully, to ensure that special "planning permission" would not be needed. Otherwise we would be tied up in paperwork, possibly, for another year, before construction started
The assembly is insulated & fire retardant. It is made of a wooden shiplap constriction with a, wooden, cedar, shingle roof. This compliments the existing house , without ollking out of place & will weather in as time goes by.
I think that the finished structure, looks good, in its setting and the locals appear to like it too. The SlingShot can move in soon and have a new dry home, where we can have quick access to it, should we want to head off out, for a ride.
Both Elaine (my wife) and I are very pleased with the results. The next move will be to have the steep driveway re-worked (next year) and possibly some more landscaping.
All of this will give better access for vehicles, as it was originally only designed to cater for the occasional horse, coming up to the house.
Who knows? In another three - four hundred years, someone may be blogging about the house, having a SlingShot on the drive, back in the 21st Century.

I suppose the America is a nation of immigrants but when it comes to the American Indian we were a conquering nation who sadly they were a victim. BUT - what did the British, French, Romans, the Germans and many others do - invade other countries to impose their rule? Right or wrong it has happened since the beginning of time - history cannot be rewritten to correct it. Same applies to slavery - horrible as it was to continue to bring it up is completely ludicrous. There is and always will be racism in the world but the US has had an African American President for God sake!! INDIANS - could have been handled much better / SLAVERY - never should have happened - both are history - we should leave that discussion for classrooms so it is never forgotten - and move on.

I thought that may stir up a few comments. After all, we English, Spanish, Scottish, French and Germans all started coming to America, North & South. Then we stole some Africans and took them along too. Now you have your country, because of it.Looking at my own ancestry, it would appear that one side of my family came to England, from France as the person in question was a French pirate (and the British were, more than, happy to accept him, to pirate, lovely French, ships).

A little like the emigration, from Ireland, during "The Potato Famine."OK. So, we didn't all have blue faces.
People will always keep moving over borders, it's up to all our governments to handle it properly. Many of the |Scottish emigrants, went to Canada and many others became cowboys, in the US (Texas area). my wife is an immigrant, from Australia (possibly mercenaries in the England/Scotland borders).
So I've got both criminal and economic migrant history. Perhaps, I don't belong where I am, but it is my home and I'm very British (as you all know). Movement like this will always happen. It doesn't mean that it's right. What's happening right now, in Mexico is tiny, compared to the total movement in the rest of the world and what has already happened, in the US. The only way you have any chance of regulating it is to control your own borders better. Even then stuff like this will always happen.

Again, no political biases, either way, but. Look at yourselves, before you start throwing stones around. Most of the nation's present population, only exists now, because of immigration.

Sadly I must agree with you - seems as much of the world is becoming conservative vs liberal OR I like to think of it as the haves vs the have nots. Chime in more - would love to have a European outlook on things. What ya think about Merkel calling it quits ??
Well Merkel grew up in a communist country (before the wall came down). So she has seen both sides.

WOW !! What a shocker!! Finally something we can come together on - new poll says that 90% of Americans believe political divisiveness is a serious or very serious. If this poll is accurate how can we make it better?? With everybody in their right of left camp don’t see it happening unless ALL politicians tone it down - if not WE need to fire them at the polls.
That's a very interesting coment.
It's amazing how you appear to see these two parties as "right & left." Most people outside North America, tend to see these parties as "left & a little more left."
If you got to see some of the European politics, then you would know what right wing is.
I'm not saying one side is bad and one is good. Just that both of your main parties are so close, in their views, that they both look more or less the same to us.
Now that may upset a few of you, but you don't know just how much unity you actually have.

I just spent some time creating a post about US politics, as now perceived by people outside the US..
I thought it was unbiased and has no political leaning Left or right.
Unfortunately, when I reviewed it, I could see that it would offend "most" people on this site, irrespective of their politics.
The long & the short of it was:
America is now starting to look like a weak & split nation, just like kids fighting in the yard.You need to unite as a country and accept that no one party, will have it their own way (That's why democracy works).
As an outsider...
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE just stop picking on each other and work as one nation. That is the only way thing will not get out of control.Just my disappointed view, of things right now.

All a little different to running around asking for treats.Wiccans have only celebrated this festival, from the 20th century, untill now. So it's a modern thing (for them) compared to the festervals above.
Now. I only live 10-15 miles from Wales so if you followed the Caplan Gaeat link, you'll know, that I'll need to, put stones in a fire and then, watch out for a tailless black sow with a headless woman...

In Ireland, at a Harley supported meeting - The Ireland BikeFest -
I found the bikers (whatever they were riding) were very supportive of both Spiders & our SlingShot.We even went on to win the
"People's Choice - Best In Show" trophy, with the UK_Paul SlingShot. Much to the HD official's disappointment. It was clear to see Harley had a commercial view, of the event, where as the riders, just thought of riding & appreciating what had attended.We all just need to keep pushing.

I've had my radioactive injection & heart scan, this morning. All would appear well.
Next thing, is to have an Iron infusion, this afternoon, they may then let me return home, this evening.

At last, things have started moving (in my bowls). They are pretty certain now that I had a heart attack, from the pain that it caused me. Well I never knew getting blocked up could hurt that much, but the heart attack was easy, compared to the other pain.
Tomorrow, I have further tests on my heart, for Kidney & Pancreas, transplant listing, (to see if I'm strong enough) then Thursday I have an operation, on my right eye, to try and restore sight, in it.
All, in all. A fun & exciting week, just living the dream.
On a more positive note, groundwork starts tomorrow, for the new garage, to house the SlingShot, so life isn't so bad.

Oh well.
Health took a turn for the worse, last Thursday.Due to my organ failures, my stomach isn't working corectly and so, not moving food through properly... so any of you that thought I was full of sh1t, was right. In fact, so right, that I was taken into A&E on Thursday, with so much pain, from the build-up, inside me, that it caused a small heart attack (or heart failure). However, the heart attack was nowhere near as bad as the pain, from the constipation.
After (apparently, very) large amounts of morphine & other related substances, things are a little better now and I'm hoping to get discharged soon (if you get my meaning).
Life goes on, so you'll all have to put up the the rambling of your mad English cousin, for a little longer yet.

Health Update:
Many of you will know that I've had a tough time, of it, with various illnesses that are slowly destroying me.
Today I went to hospital to get pumped up with various - radioactive isotopes - This was to view how I would react to having a major operation, with multiple organ transplants.
Last month, it was judged too dangerous to carry out the tests, as my blood pressure was way too high (well over 200/100)
After much work and lots of (very interesting) drugs. Today I achieved 121/50.
I suspect @samowens44 may have known a little more, than he was letting on to, when he created this image.
Who knows? With all that radioactive juce, inside me, I may wake, in the morning with some superpowers.
