Looks like we just received info that the new Ford Bronco will sport solid axles front and rear. 2dr and 4dr with removable doors and top panels. They are going after the Wrangler. Also a truck version by 2022-24.

Believe Ford may spin the Bronco name off as it's own brand with several other smaller 4x4s to be offered much like the Renegade, Cherokee and Compass.

Can't trust the SlingShot speedo but said 118ish the one time I took my eyes off the track to look. Done about 135 in a 86 Merkur I built back in the day.

I am more of a track (road course) guy than top speed. Cheaper to build something to catch you in the corners than straight line speed in my opinion... That is unless it's a track with a really long straightaway. Besides these guys are leaning first hand how bad these things are aerodynamically at speed. Bigger balls than me... I'm ok with that.

Markets change and unexpected factors will always demand that you keep looking to improve or replace a product. Some have long life cycles with very little change and some have very shorter lives and may require more updates. Got to keep it new and fresh otherwise you do not have return customers. The trick is to always offer what the customer wants when they want it.

wokka can of worms is good. Ideas can come from anywhere. The product may not be what was suggested but it might trigger a different way of looking at something that wasn't thought of before. This may lead to a solution for an idea that was already in the works but running up against engineering hurdles.

I will always be cost sensitive with what I bring to market. I always approach it as if I was buying it. I ain't got a lot to waste...

As for a folding top..... Yes that is the Holy Grail...?(

I just want to make sure I'm "Choosing wisely" in what time is spent on....

Wonder if anyone will pick up on references there????? :/

We are working on MeanSling top design #3 that we feel covers the last section of the SlingShot top market. As always we believe the SlingShot looks best without a top but also understand it's freaking hot out there. We have core requirements for any top we come to market with....

    (1) easy to use, removable if desired

    (2) Stock original look when removed

    (3) priced correctly

What's your core must have for a top? What would make you buy a top? For those with a top what would make you replace what you have?

Out of respect to the seller (forgive me if I'm wrong on the version you are noting but its the only one I could find that fit your price) I think it is important to note that the kit includes a H3R Fire Extinguisher. The cost you noted includes this very expensive automotive extinguisher. Take that extinguisher out and the price for the bracket is in line with getting low volume products manufactured and then sold through a retailer. The money you think they are making is not there. The extinguisher is the part that jacks the price. To your point the extinguisher can be had for less but not apples to apples. You would be hard press to design, fabricate, powder coat, package and sell for the promo price now being listed for just the bracket mount.

I'm sorry but felt the need to give additional explanation.

Ok I'm really the odd guy out here. I'm also looking for a replacement tow rig and need to think about how much towing I will be doing over the coming years. Same tailer set up Bubblehead . 20' enclosed at about 6k with the sling and inventory. Now don't laugh but have been towing this setup with a 220,000 miled Porsche Cayenne S with the 4.3L V8 for 3 years. I have to pull in the North GA area and it does it far better than any of you guys would guess. It's rated for 7,700lbs but I will argue that a good trailer braking system is almost as important as everything else noted. If the truck is not equipped with a built in system than buy the best brake controller you can find. Wieght distribution hitch with anti-sway. Just my 2cents. As others have noted 1/2 or 3/4 , gas or Diesel choose what you want but do not forget the tailer and the equipment needed to tow safely.

X2 with Dave's replies. Also you can purchase a cheap automotive stethoscope that you can use to help isolate it a tad bit further. You will want to focus your search to around the bell housing if T/O bearing related.
