Waiting on the rear tire to be mounted as we speak, then another oil change and clean the SS while it is raining for the next few days. Also while I am thinking about it the Blue/White 2016 is for sale for $22,900 and it has about 200 miles on it. she paid $27,500 for it new when it came out. She was having trouble with the wrong kind of crowd when driving so she decided the best course of action was to sell it for her safety. Let me know something if you are serious about buying and I will put you in touch with her. Says she is not coming down any lower, it can sit in the shed.

I know a lot of people on this forum are > 6 feet tall. I'm on the other end of the spectrum. My seat is all the way forward. This makes the cup placement way behind me. I'm always fumbling behind me like Helen Keller in search of a beverage. And forget about putting the cup back into the holder.
Has any tried a different approach?
I was thinking of using a bicycle one and place on the bars but the clamp was too small. Ideas?

I just bought two of this clamp on (64 positions) $20. It is called CHUBBY CUPS Phone 502-640-1614 sales@vizonxtreme.com It will clamp on just about any round tube like from 5/8 thru 1 1/4 inch. I installed mine yesterday after buying at Bike Week. I installed on the front tube on the UP TOP

@Joker256 - One thing you need to know about the people on this forum. We have ALL become a part (however dysfunctional) of a great and wonderful family for one another. Whether you ride or desire to ride...makes no mind to us. We have all been here, through thick and thin, for anyone who has the gumption to sign in and talk about, well, just about anything Slingshot. And sometimes, we don't even talk about our Slings!!!! Sometimes, we just reach out to talk...about nothing at all!!!! We just want to converse with "not-so-normal" people.

My SS just started this also this past week that I noticed. Fuel bars are working but the range to empty is not. Also for the past 2 weeks I have been getting the brake failure ( the one at the top). It will reset each time on start up. We have already replaced the brake pressure switches once. Looks like I have another bad one. Dealer already has 4 on back order for failures and has no idea when any new switches will come in. When you hit the brakes the light comes on then until you restart and it will reset.

First, I just wanted to say, it has been a pleasure being on this forum. I've been a member of quite a few online forums in the past, and this, by far, has been the best. To see how many people go out of their way to help others is astounding. @rabtech should be incredibly proud of what he has built here. I have met and talked to some amazing people through here.
I joined this forum because I planned on buying a Slingshot and was looking for some more info from people that owned them. What I found instead was a group of people that love their rides and care about each other. A kind of Slingshot family. (A dysfunctional one thanks to @Tripod)
That being said, I probably wont be on here much, or at all, from here on out.
I had a couple of injuries at work that delayed a purchase, but now, buying one definitely won't be in my future. Without going into too much detail, I have some health issues that I'll be dealing with over the next few months, and probably won't be in any condition to enjoy one for quite a while, if ever, so, I have to let that thought go.
To those few of you know know what's going on, thank you for the support. You have been awesome. It'll all work out.But, to everyone on this forum, I just want to say, You have made this the best online community I have ever been a part of. Please take the time to thank the admins of this site. They have built something great.
Hopefully everything will work out down the road and I can have a chance to meet more of you. Keep having fun, keep the pedal down, wind in your face and the wheels on the ground!Do not leave us, keep checking in. We will try to give you all of the support that you can handle

Do you know if there is an adjustment for lever to get more play.
All I had to do on mine was adjust the cables to open latches at the same time.

I agree that 10,000 miles is very premature for ball joint failures.
I don't think you can put a mileage on when you might have issues with ball joints. There is a good number of SlingShots with many more miles on them with no need for replacement. Most likely, anyway I hope, Polaris has seen some pattern in these failings which would lead back to a possible supplier with quality control problems. I certainly would not want this to turn into another recall event such as the swingarms. -
I have a 16 SL and hood won't open. Push latch lever down and it will not move. This make it so hood is hard to open. How to fix

When you get the hood open adjust the latches and tighten any lock nuts and bolts. There are people on here that have had the same problem some of them can explain how to open each latch.

Yep - this is a heat management related discussion.
Starting to warm up this week in NC. Forgot how warm the footwell gets. I added the Welter rear exhaust in early Spring and really like them but it seems to have added some heat to the transmission tunnel.
Last year I thought about ways to get fresh or cooler air into the footwell. Looked at the air ducts others put in, thought about electric fans, new windshields etc.
The one thought that kept coming back was some type of air scoop attached to the underside of the mirror support bracket that tapers into a tube and curves over (or through) the frame rail and dumps into the footwell.
I invision a nice molded plastic piece that blends in as though it was an original molding piece from the factory.
Well, I can't make anything close to what I see in my head.
But, I thought I should try and prove if the concept would work.
So I made a very rudimentary, clumsy and inexpensive "proof of concept model" out of basic PVC pieces and attached to the Slingshot.
Well it seems to do a decent job - at 40 mph, the air coming through felt like a car AC vent on medium or a little better.
Unlike the air wings, this approach directs the air at you lower legs. Would love to see a vendor take a shot and making something more finished or take a more serious approach to some other vent / scoop approach that dumps into the footwell.
Have a good laugh at the pics. May leave on for a few days then remove to see if I feel the difference.
Several ways to get air in the foot wells... here is another one from @Samowens44. He modified this one from his original install by adding a blower, but the tubing is simple enough.
Check out My build pictures, I think there was a picture of mine. Just a piece of 1 1/2 inch pvc and a 90. I now have a little different set up now but both are installed on the mirror stalks. Look me up at SSITS. Do not even bother with the fender vents, there is no air down there. I can show you just how little there is. The hole in the 15 and 16 models. I was wrong there are no pictures of either vent

2pc Frogg Toggs for us. The one pc suits can be hard to get out of once you start to sweat. Not to mention you look like boy racer.....
Just a little note from me. The only problem with the Frog Togs is it seems when it is raining water collects in the seat and will soak thru the Frog Togs so you get a wet A--. So what I did was get a cheap set of vinyl and just wear the bottoms and then wear the Frog Tog top. Works for me

We will be doing laser alignments at Maggie Valley from Tuesday-Saturday. We will be using new laser kit from Polaris and have digital wrench to reset sensors if needed. This laser system is far more accurate than the old true laser track. Does not matter if you have after-market or OEM wheels this system will work on both.
We aligned a few new units today and even new they are off.
Here is you can see how far off the drivers side was. You can see how far off the laser dot is off center way to the right side. This was on a brand new machine with 0 miles. The passenger side was only a hair off but the drivers side was off allot.Even if your machine was aligned before it is always good to check and adjust alignment every year. It will help save your tires from un-even wear, help with gas mileage, provide a better feel and performance.

Well guys you will have a new Slingshot in CT. All I got from him was a name Jim and he was from CT. He came down to Myrtle Beach with a group of friends riding an Indian. He took the SS test ride today and traded in his Indian for a SS. I wonder if his wife knows yet. I forgot it is Silver in color.
