So what is it about the Polaris that fits and Metricks won't? The fact that the Polaris has the back cut short (which half way defeats the purpose of the fender), and that allows the exhaust pipes to fit?

You are right, the Metrick's goes almost down to the swing arm. The Polaris fender is so short I do not even believe it is functional and is just for looks.

What's a "Yawkey", that it offends people?

Tom Yawkey owned one of those big baseball teams years ago. He also owned South Island Plantation in Georgetown, S.C. he brought the players here to rest and relax. He also had a hand in the only legal Whore House in South Carolina. It was called Sunset look it up. There was also a book written about it, it was supposed to be fiction but it is mighty funny all of the characters in it really existed. You need anything else? The person that I eat lunch with every day was friends with the Madam and sold her all of her cars. He just turned 94 last month and knows most of the history of Georgetown.

I will be getting a replacement rear tire in a short time. I have been planning on getting the Nitto NT555 G in the stock 20"" size. At roughly $140 it seems like a good choice considering what I have read here. Just now I became aware of the Yokohama S Drive it is about the same price so I thought I would ask here if anyone knows about this or any other tire for around $150 or less I should be considering? As you probably know I live in the desert so rain is a rare issue and snow or ice are never issues. The S Drive seemed worth considering so I thought I would ask

    Thanks

Around here I still have to look for good wet traction numbers for when I get caught in the rain.

BAR NONE ~> 276 is my favorite route... wasn't crowded last year so we're going to give it a go again this year

^^^ Agreed!! ~> And you know what... it's OK!! Why do I say that?? Glad you asked... You see, anti-SS rhetoric only comes out the mouths of those secretly closeted about their love/attraction for the sling... these "so-called haters" WISH they could have just a little nibble... a little TASTE of the good life!! Best thing one can do in this case is COME OUT and show PRIDE for thier LOVE of the SLING <~ those curves.... mmmm... so sexy and HOT! MOMMA LIKES!!!!!

Wait... What were we talking about again? Is it hot in here...? I need a nap :/

Talking to other's "mostly Harley Riders" I just look at them and tell them that I have one of those also. What else do you have? It just shuts the door in their face and they cannot think of anything else to say.

I rode with @rabtech, @FunCycle, and @MACAWS, to name a few, back in 2016 at SSITS (i missed 2017). I just received an email from Ivor stating that all rides are done at "medium" speeds and that Rabtech doesn't lead any of them anymore. So are you boys planning on doing a few "alternate" runs at a more spirited pace, or just running in the existing ride groups at a more leisurely pace?

    Thanks!
    Joe

I think I can answer for my friends, we will not be in any of the group rides. We will be doing our own thing in small groups, to be determined day by day at the event.

No argument here, Brother! It’s on my rather extensive list of “Things to Do” now that I’m retired & will have more time since I’m not away from home working for months at a time now. I have been extremely busy of late but it seems I’m doing more for others than myself (& I’m actually okay with that). Will probably be May before I start on the garage project...

You do that kind of project when you cannot ride! I just spent all of these cold days we have had cleaning mine up and installing shelves.

I like to make a loop down 28 to mountain rest SC then 107 north to 64 east then 276north to 19 or parkway . Been riding that loop for 10 years . Doesn't get old.

Good BBQ at cashiers corner of 107&64 . BBQ on the side I believe. It's just a window at the farm market. They have a few picnic tables and makes a good rest stop.

How much time to do that loop? I have done 28 three times all the the way to like Greenwood. But I have not on 276 in years on a bike. We came back thru there after I wrecked the sling last year.

As most of you know, my Slingshot is the feature SS for our 2018 calendar for the month of March. Today is March 1st & I received a totally awesome & quite unexpected gift from our calendarmeister @Ross! Coincidence? I think not. This poster is made of very high quality material & was very well packaged & had zero damage from USPS. It measures 24” x 36”. I LOVE IT!!! Just HAD to put it up in the garage right away! I’m at a loss for words Ross, other than to say “Thank you!” from the bottom of my heart...

I like the poster but it looks like you might need a few days to clean out the garage. :POKESS:

I'm running a large tire but the Metrick Hugger sits really close so I'm hoping. I'll check with @FunCycle. Thanks.

Where the pipe crosses in front of the tire. From the back plastic to the rear of the pipe is 4 inches. From the tire to the pipe is 1 1/2 inch. I hope that makes since to you. I see your last post so you are looking at the same thing that I am. Look at the install video on here (this forum) I like the Duals also

I'm trying to find out if a Metricks fender will fit with the Welter dual exhaust? It looks like it will from the pictures I've seen but I can't afford to make a purchase this large and not have it fit so please sound off if you know somebody that has this combo or if somebody tried and discovered it doesn't fit. Waiting on response from Metricks but thought I'd put it out there on the forum.

    Thanks, Oldfogey aka Paul

I have the Welter Dual Exhaust and I just watched the Metrick's Fender install video. I am going to say no it will not fit. From what I am looking at it will not fit. If it would fit it would be real /real close almost touching.. But why would you not use the new Welter that exits just below the battery box. I know you like the Dual's looks better. I hope that helps.
