I guess he could always get a small camper to go behind the sling.
But then they would get hot/cold or maybe wet, can not have that.

Just confirming the way my miles per gallon were figured, too many people are depending on the computer to give them the correct number
Yes
But it does not read the actual MPG when I figured it out by the actual Gallons and the miles. IMHO That was why I used trip mileage like going to Maggie Valley from home and back with every kind of driving, it was normally a 1,500 mile average to come up with the MPG. That was the real numbers that I was using. Not by the tank of gas or the Computer.
Last year I had my SS repaired and they just replaced all of the parts. I had a bad experience with the dealer that did the repairs and the reason that I used them was that they claimed to build custom Motorcycles so I figured that they would know what they were doing and be kind of picky about what and how they did things. "WRONG" That is just the short story. So be very picky about who you use for repairs. I even had something that they had not done show up last week, piss poor workmanship. This is a year later.
Yes it was all pretty good except for all of the rain.
I so a white one coming through Columbia on I-26 headed north on my way home. So that is a grand total of four counting mine and @Wrenchmn for the weekend.
Left Maggie at 8 AM this morning, I got home at 12/45 pm and no rain. As soon as I started unloading the thunder started rumbling and the dark clouds started rolling in.
Display MoreFirst of all, you all know I will only post what I find to be true from my personal experience.
Over the past 3 years I have had a custom designed rear exit exhaust, Alpha Side Exit, Alpha Variable and now the Welter Stealth (for the past 15 months). Through installing 16 Super Chargers, and 1 stubborn Turbo Charger @Bill Martin, I have worked on a 1320, Haun, and a dual exit one that has pipes on both sides of the sling like a hot rod.
IN MY OPINION, I have found the Welter Exhaust systems to be the best made and best backed systems on the market. The system has held up to my abuse of pushing over 330 HP with flames shooting out of the exhaust for over 20,000 miles. Any time I have gone to an event where Jeff is at, he wants to know how it is holding up (it is one of the first Stealth systems build for a SC). If I hesitate to say it is outstanding, Jeff puts it up on the lift and goes over it with a fine tooth comb. An example of this I would like to share happened at MV this year. When he asked how it was going I told him it seamed to be getting a bit louder and I was wondering if he could repack the back resonator. After listening to it, he thought it would be better to replace the resonator that is located under the sling. Since I didn't want to park the sling while at MV, he agreed to ship it to me. Two days after I got home from MV a box appeared from Welter. When I finally got around to trying to install it I discovered they had improved the design of the exhaust from the mid pipe back. When I called Jeff to see if he could send an adapter to make it work, he shockingly said NO! Instead of sending me an adapter, HE SENT ME A COMPLETELY NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM!!!!!
@Jeff Welter, as I told you before, you are crazy. You provide a product and service that is unsurpassed by any other to the slingshot community. I truly thank you for that.
For anyone who is looking at purchasing a new exhaust system, you can do no better than installing any of the Welter systems.
I agree with you on Jeff Welter he had already sent me a set of hangars for my duals when one of them broke, then he seen my post about breaking another set a few weeks ago so he sent me some more. He had also asked in Maggie if there were any problems because he remember I was one of the first install he made and he knew that I had quite a few miles on the system. The last problem was because the hangar screws had backed out and also broke the welded on bracket at the rear of the pipe before it exits from under the rear of the SS.
I would say that about 1/2 wave, not over that. But still it is Harley riders in the majority that do not. I had to say something to a Harley rider today after he said something about the SS. Just asked him what else he had in his garage? That I also had a Harley and a couple of old cars in mine, it tends to shot them up real quick.
Passed a red Slingshot today on 74 looked like they may have been headed to the Tail of the Dragon, I had just came thru there and was headed to Maggie Valley
@FunCycle has claimed increase... Not sure who else...
With the CAI and the cat delete I increased 4 mpg, this is with the pencil and a couple of 1,500 trip mile averages 34mpg. Then I did Bob's tune and the Welter Dual install at the same time in Maggie and dropped 4 mpg on the 1,500 mile trip average down to 30 mpg. Everyone else was getting about a 4 mpg increase with Bob's tune, even Bob does not know what is going on. The only think that we can figure is it has something to do with the exhaust.
I just installed what looks like vanes in the scoop area to direct air down into the cockpit area
I just found an outstanding place to stay in Maggie Valley, the room that I have tonight looks better\nicer than the Comfort Inn rooms that we have been getting and surprise cheaper also. It is called the Five Star Inn at 2474 Soco Road in Maggie Valley (828-926-3816) He says he will do a group rate at $79 or lower for June. He also does not like the price gouging (price fixing) that the motel owners group does and tries to require everyone to use the same rates. Right now that standard rate is $139 per night and special event is $230. I just paid $89 plus tax for tonight as a walk in. I just might be changing Motels for SSITS19. OH! I forgot "NO BREAKFAST"
Nancy and I may be in Walland/Townsend tomorrow at about noon. We’re going to do lunch at the Snoring Bear Dinner. Give me a shout if you are close by.

It will be at least one before I get there, it is according to what time I wake up in the morning to leave.
I'm glad you clarified with pictures! This thread would've went south fast with all the guesses of what kinda new toy you had in the bedroom.
I was wondering why the bed room?
Gerald, calling for rain here tomorrow but looks good for Sat.(20%) Rain again on Sun. Drive safe. As you know from riding up here watch curves for gravel and other obstacles (tree limbs, etc.) that end up in road after heavy rains.
Thanks, I have been riding the area since about 1970, way before 129 was ever called the Dragon. I rode that road every time I was up there. Did you hear about @Ghost and I riding the 300 miles in the rain on Monday at SSITS. We suited up at Joey's Pankcake House at 8 AM and got back to the Comfort Inn at 6 PM it never did stop raining the whole time. Gas stops only. I changed to the better rain tires just in case, took the Kenda's off for this weekend.
"RIDE" Yea, I missed that and could not change it. Packed and ready to leave in the morning early. This will be number Five for the summer @MACAWS. Have fun at WORK!
Happy Birthday and may you have many more. I will be back up this weekend riding around
The shirts survived the washing machine and dryer. They look good. The ball cap looks like it has dirt spots on it. The ball cap looks to be about the cheapest made that I have seen in a while, but I am good with it. Real thin material but it does have the buckle adjustment for sizing.
