This site is so awesome.... just saying! Kudos to those that are doing this!

I was going to check where the +3" fit when I got home, as I plan to go tinted soon. But I figure that @Ruptured Duck will be using it as a test flow for his tops, and that would help many more than just me. If he doesn't take it, I'd like a shot at it. Will measure tonight just in case.

I'm late to the party, as usual! But chalk up one more that wants to meet you both! Sure would be nice to know when you are coming, and where you will likely meet up before the actual week at MV. When I'm on vacation, I'm rarely on forums or any social media. Too much to see and do, so I'm up early and out late. I will have my phone, if anyone wants to get my number beforehand just let me know.

I haven't had cracks in passenger side as of yet. My driver's side panel has been replaced. Polaris covered it. BS on the dealer saying it's not covered. On mine, they didn't change anything on the support, and it's cracking again already. Found it the same day I got my SLR vinyl kit on it, so that vinyl is going to need replaced when the panel is replaced. I'll be taking it to a dealer in Indy this time (Flat Out), but I'm in no hurry. I'll wait until it needs to go in for something, or until end of season

I've had my share of older muscle cars. I've had a couple of older hopped up pick ups. I'm no stranger to exhaust smells either. Minor to average smells don't bother me, but heavy exhaust or rich gas can get to me at times. My wife has more trouble with it. Other than my trips to work in the SS, she is usually with me about every time I get it out. I'm running the stock windshield now (ripper, came with my 2016.5 SL), but likely will change it after this season. I know I want it tinted for whatever I decide to go with. I will likely have over 20,000 (could be closer to 25,000) on mine by end of this season, and I've not had it quite a year yet. Windshield is getting some rock marks in it already. I do like the Alpha variable on the quiet setting. The stock sound on the SS isn't bad, and I just don't really care for this type of engine loud in most cases. Rather odd actually, as I have a Vance & Hines 2 into 1 on my Harley that sounds pretty angry.

I thank you for taking the time to post up about this. My current plan is to hold off, and look at systems while at SSITS. There will be many variations of tops, exhausts, shocks, brakes and so on, so that I can find what I like and hopefully mod things one time rather than re-mod them again later. Hope to see you and @Guardian_Angel there!

If you don't want the blue/amber look, you can always look into having it ceramic coated. I'm really surprised that no one offers this on the headers as an option. I had a set of ceramic coated stainless Hookers (groans at the direction @Tripod could take that) on a '67 GTO clone I owned. They never blued, looked like new (still do, 17 years later as i saw the car last summer) and kept the heat down under the hood.

Looks nice! If I hadn't already gotten the one similar from SlingshotOnly, I'd get this one. Supposedly we should be getting our boots this week or next. Mine is a tad snug, but even if I didn't get the new one, I'm still pretty happy overall with this one.

You and I are both rocking 13's. So if no one is pulling off heel toe, then we are all riding the clutch in to turns and rev matching right at the apex?

That makes at least 3 of us in that 13 category. Not much room in there for sure. Usually I try to be in the gear I want to exit the turn in, just before I enter the turn. If on the brake hard sometimes I'll clutch in and rev match when ready for power again. Mostly I tend to corner like I do on the bike, although hitting the brakes in the turn is less of a challenge on the SS than the bike.

This is an odd year for me too. Like @SAINT SS, I lost my mother last May 1st. My wife ( @GH_Sidekick ) and I were mom's main caregivers. Losing her so close to Mother's Day last year (May 1st) I was still numb from it all. Our son is grown, and has a family of his own now. We have 4 grand kids, the youngest is 10. My mom was the last parent between my wife and I.

So I'm thinking flowers for Mom's grave, and treating my wife extra special on that day. She likes to have the kids over, so likely I'll fix much of the meal on the grill. If I could do anything for Mother's Day, I would pick one more time to sit with my mom and visit....

Read about the fall of that empire and you will see terrifying similarities between then and now. The time for action is now, unfortunately, no solution even on the far horizon!!

There are several solutions I can think of, but none that have good outcomes and will be very difficult along the way. We are debt laden. Infrastructure has been allowed to decline. We are fighting on more than one foreign soil. Military has continued to decline in resources. I have a brother in law that is now retired out of the Air Force, and he told me that around 2/3's of the planes we have could be licensed as antiques if they got plates like we do for cars and trucks. We have groups like BLM, DisruptJ20, AntiFa, just to name a few, that are promoting civil uprising that will likely ramp up until civil war is breaking out in small areas around the country. We have a stock market that is set to have a major reset, likely should be about 50% of what it is showing today. GM just had it's plant in Venezuela taken over by their corrupt govt just yesterday. We have many countries that would like to bring death to America. North Korea has a man leading it with mental issues, we are flirting war games with Russia along the Alaska border, and we have sleeping terror cells all across this country.

Every day, I check the news to see if anything important has happened, here and abroad. Meanwhile, I enjoy my life, try my best to help out and be kind to people that cross my path each day. I pray every day, and trust that the outcome will be what it's supposed to be in the end. I will turn the other cheek, but when the time comes to stand I stand firm. But should it all go south overnight, I've invested in canned commodities, seeds, and precious metals (think, lead) just in case...

And like Bill stated so many pages ago.... POLITICS SUCK!

Update: still at the dealership. All recalls done. Brakes suck, per service mgr. Has done the recommended Polaris bleed and replaced master cylinder, in addition to mickey mouse recall on the brake lines........ Test drove- better for about 3-4 miles, and then back to the double pump- not as bad as when I brought her in, but bad enough he will not release her. He talked to Polaris and they want him to do the Polaris bleed treatment, then a regular bleed......

I got mine back about 5 weeks (ish) ago. Brakes were solid... as in it felt weird not to push them way down if emergency, and double pump if not. Now I've noticed that while not as bad... it had returned. Brake pedal doesn't go as far down as before, but at least over an inch lower than if I hit them light and then let up and hit them again. Still much better than the first 12.5k I put on it...

@FixMyToysZach, if I get you my VIN, can you give me a price? I don't know what all is covered, or how much the warr is. The dealer I bought from has overpriced about everything, and can't fix anything without messing something up. Never going back to them. I'll be using a dealer out of Indy from now on, but have yet to have any work done by them.

@Ruptured Duck and @Joker256, the one thing that is exclusive to the 2016.5 that the others don't have, is the metal support pad under the driver's side panel that WILL spider crack the paint from the inside pressure and/or vibration. Polaris knows of this, and will cover it on warr. Some dealers have said they won't, but mine has been replaced by Polaris. Trouble is, the dealer didn't do anything to the pad below. My new one is doing the same thing. I'll change it out with another dealer but likely will wait until next spring unless it gets looking really bad. I just got my SLR vinyls on, hate not to run them for awhile.

@Joker256, I'm pretty sure that's a 2016.5. I got one shortly after they started releasing them. If I'm not mistaken, the 2016 had red and black seats. I can't speak for all 2016.5 Slings out there, but mine has been great overall, and I'm very happy with it.

@FixMyToysZach, I'm planning to buy an extended warranty also. I thought I'd wait until about this time next year, maybe 30-60 days before mine expires. I bought it May 22nd of 2016. My only thought of holding off is that I'm driving the wheels off this thing and something could happen between now and then that could change my need for it. Would that make it any more difficult to get, as long as I'm still well before the warranted period is up?

Yes, we're pretty close to Maggie...is there a route from there to home that goes through Greenville afterward? You're welcome to stop in and visit!

No way on the after. We are planning to get into the area late Monday, but are staying about 1 1/2 hours drive from MV. We are coming from Indiana, and making a scenic day of it on the way down (540 miles one way). Plan to be at MV on Tuesday, mid morning. We stay until Sunday, but then it will be run hard north, as I go back to work on Monday. Only way I could make it would be if I could talk the missus into heading out on Saturday instead. Being Memorial Day weekend, I'm not sure that will happen. My best hope this time is that you make a day trip to MV and we are able to hook up there. Please don't make me beg.... :D
