How was that new dealer to deal with. They bought out the Murrel's Inlet dealer and they were the best to deal with but could not turn down the money that they were offered to sell out on the Slingshots.

They are a "big-Box store. Sales side was just ok but I told them to drop the OTD price $2k and I'd take it or walk. They dropped it. Their service department was great. I'll probably have them service it, even though I have 3 dealers much closer to me. I had my Indian serviced at the Indian Dealer - Coastal Iron, in Murrel's Inlet. Great place!

I'm a Clear member and love it. I guess I'm wealthy and entitled since I can pay the $187/year membership lol.

......now my Roxy just refuses to let my neighbors go in or come out of their house with her barking like my house is on fire, so time to take things to another level.........and already she is responding to it by withdrawing when I tap it, so let the training time begin....now she looks at me like " what is that orange thing he bought from amazon in his hand now" ;(

I need one of these myself. Our Beagle, Riley, loses his mind when he see's anything. My watch goes off and tells me its high decibel and could damage my hearing lol.

Tops really need research??? Do the 'on line' and than see in person and get in/out, drive to see how your line of sight works. There is a major rally in Maggie Valley, NC right after Memorial Day....there will be several vendors and about 500 Slingshots so you will see everything (well almost everything) that is out there.

Hoping to make it there. I'm on the other side of the state now but grew up close to Maggie Valley. Probably been there hundreds of times.

rancej I have owned 4 new Slingshots since 2016 and the very first slingshot I did not have a top or different windshield. But, the last three Slingshots have all had the Polaris Slingshade tops with the stock windshields. But, now on my 2022R, I have changed the stock windshield to the new Polaris Vented windshield and I love it!! Since you have driven the slingshot without a top, now is the right time to try all the other tops before making your final decision??

Great info! I would like something a little taller. I'm 6'1". Want it to sit so I can look over it but close to that point.

This what I'm looking to get. What brand is it? Agree on the seat time but already know I want a top. I drove home from the purchase (2.5 hours due to traffic around Myrtle Beach) and knew I wanted the top first thing.

Trying to plan this. About 5.5 hour ride for me to get there. I moved to the Wilmington, NC area last year from Statesville, NC, where I was only 2 hours away. Grew up much closer to Maggie Valley and have been there hundreds of times since I was a kid.

Congrats on the new Sling - ya gotta post a pic or it didn’t happen - that seems to be the rule in this joint :00008172:

I posted one on another thread but will create a new one with better pics today. Accessory shopping is though...so many things I want. Number 1 is a new top and number 2 is a windshield. 3 would be speaker pods.

Just remember that the SS will hydroplane very easily when raining. Welcome to the best forum and we can definitely help you spend your money. We also help with other issues, we also have a lawyer on staff. He’s retired but he doesn’t work cheap, he needs really good bourbon by the case.
    JUST SAYIN

Thanks Boomer! I'm in "decision on what top to get" hell right now :-).

yep, I even wave at pedestrians at intersections if they look my way - - - one of the things I love about being out in my Sling is that it puts me out there among everyone else around me - - gives me an opportunity to try to live with love toward everyone around me gives me a chance to try to live the way I truly believe my God wants us all to live.

I passed a lot of bikes yesterday on the way home with my new Sling. It never crossed my mind to wave at them and none waved at me either. There was a kid riding a bike that almost wrecked on the sidewalk waving like crazy at me lol. When I had my Can-Am, it was rare for an HD rider to wave...even the ones I used to ride with when I had an HD. I'd wave and move on. I'm a Jeeper as well so the wave seems like I'm always waving at someone.

Just to summarize what everyone is saying, there are really only 2 differences between the Slingshots:

    • 2015-2019 used the GM 2.4L Ecotec Engine and a manual Transmission; 2020+ use the Polaris engine and have an option for a "hydraulically controlled manual" (i.e. sort of an automatic) or full manual.
    • Base model to top of the line model is just what accessories the factory adds. Even the HP adder for the 2020+ can be added later. Decide what accessories you want from the factory and/or what you are willing to add/change/remove later to decide if you want the top of the line or want to build it yourself. I built mine myself (in my avatar) from a stripped base model.

And either way, you'll LOVE the SS. Most of us here are also ex-motorcycle riders. Heck, some even still have the 2-wheelers.

    Thanks and yours looks great!
