If you do it again, let me know when you are coming through Savannah. Beer's on me!

I've done the Autotrain before with my Jeep. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. very convenient. plus, I-95 through South Carolina is horrible. Potholes galore. Save your suspension. Your kidneys will thank you.

Did a quick design of my custom dash idea. what do you guys think?
basically,replacing this...
with this.
-
Batting an Idea around in my head and wanted to get opinions.
I've thinking and planning a full custom dash when I get my Sling in
the next couple of weeks. And my only hangup is the Start/Stop switch.
I'll be getting the Guard Dawg Keyless System.I was thinking that a modified version of this would be cool. Where is wouldn't be visible at all.
or at least a different button. Like this.
Thoughts?

Is the aerospace protectant advised for the inside of the Sling, like the dash and the seats? Or something simple like ArmorAll?
I wouldn't use it on any of the painted surfaces, but definitely on the black plastic portions. For painted areas, I always use Prima Hydro Max. It's easy to apply and lasts.
Someone else may have other better recommendations. -
Someone say Jeeps? Thanks for the info on the 303! On the last ride one of the guys swore by their Aerospace Protectant to keep the black plastic from fading like the Chevy Silverado's do.
@bubba, The Aerospace is great for the plastic and the factory soft top.The fabric guard for the seats.
Good looking Jeep! -
BTW, @rabtech, I sent to a PM.
-
depends....
Not a lot of hard core Jeep guys (long time out there) have good feelings about said company. Let's just say 11 years have resulted a HUGE change in a company. Anything thats distinctively a Rugged Ridge product may or may not have been my designs..I have a long history with them. Know lots of the people there. They aren't geared to the hardcore. But I've bought plenty of their parts for weekend wheelers.
I know a bunch of the people over there. -
sounds good. Current job is product development manager for an aftermarket Jeep accessories company..
Omix-Ada?
BTW, Sorry for Hijacking the thread.

you don't even know...
Ruptured Duck is our Professor ofJeeps and does some very fine fab work for Slingshots
Nice! I've owned over 30 Jeep (so far) and have built many more for other people. From Mall Crawlers, to full on Rock Buggies. Unfortunately, since going from the car business to the beer business, I don't have tools and space to do fab work any more. I have tons of ideas and designs for Sling addons, but nowhere to do it. Hopefully we can all meet up soon and discuss things.
-
other than the obvious differences, it's surprising how many things from the Jeep community translate over to the sling.
-
can you save me a 2XL? I won't be in Maggie valley.
I can send by Paypal, or whatever works for you. -
As a long time Jeep guy, I have tried dozens of different products for canvas tops. Personally, the only product I will ever use again on any canvas is 303 Fabric Guard. I linked it for you.
It's easy to apply, prevents fading, repels dirt and water too.. I can't say enough about how well this stuff works. just don't get it on your paint. it will lrace a haze.
Their Fabric Cleaner is amazing for seats too. Also, their 303 Aerospace Protectant is great for black plastic.
Hope this helps. -
Yes you have an option to keep the ignition connected or disconnected. It is just a matter of connecting the ignition switch plug to the DGDawg
If you choose to have the ignition disconnected like most you will have to connect it if the dealer needs to reflash the ECM.Awesome! Perfect! Didn't want to take the chance of being stranded.
-
You know... I have never tried it. I don't think you can but I could be wrong. @TheRock covered the key whole with the provided black sticker so you can not see the key hole. The module I believe installs in-between the Key Functionality and ignition.
I'll call them and find out. would be nice if you could. I'd stash a key somewhere for emergencies.
-
With the Guard Dawg system, can you still use the key in case of a lost fob or dead fob battery?
-
looks like a wash... Or will be. Just for giggles, where is this?
It looks like Transfagarasan Road in Romania. Saw it on Top Gear once. looks like an awesome drive!
-
I'm getting a white LE, so I'm getting this...

Buy 1 Mega Millions ticket, win tomorrow night and come play at SSITS . See ya there @Joker256 .
P.S. If it works could you buy me a beer.....and maybe 1 mod?
I'm in the beer business. If I win, I'll send one of my drivers up with a truckload!
-
Will do. I'm sure many others will chime in on it as well after SSITS. To bad you couldn't get your Sling in time to make it to the rally.
yeah, Sucks. My wife is heading to florida with friends and I have to work.
