If the IRS can track every tax paying citizen in the US by a SSN - why can’t you vote electronically with no mistakes.....Oh crap - I forgot - who the hell can trust the IRS

    .

I am sure its not unique to Fl but down here, every year, thousands of illegals are found (how many are missed) to be using stolen SSN's for work, to get DL's, and even benefits. Much of this being solved now that FL has gone to nationally accepted ID's/DL's with Federal checks at issue but it will take years for that to become fully implemented. IMO the next step should be to require this type of ID to vote ..... everywhere ...... like that will ever happen ......

All counties in FL are required to submit totals to the Capital by noon today ... Broward didn't even open their office until 10am so we will see .....
No matter what I see a definite recount for US Senate, Governor, and AGR from all this...... As I see it only the AGR Commissioner (powerful position here) is on the line and the Dem is a friends neighbor, she's an idiot (O Cortez with a cowboy hat) who has never worked in any AG industry and ran on issues already allowed in FL, like medical marijuana ... which was approved during the last voting cycle, mandatory background checks for firearms (controlled by the AGR dept. in FL) which has been law here for many years and reinforced by Gov Scott last year.... the only people who are less qualified for the position are those who voted because they saw a "D" next to her name and know nothing about her or the office she is seeking .......

So ... Palm Beach is refusing to release ballot information mandated by today's court order ....

The courts decided they broke FL election law and went against our state constitution ... now they refuse to comply with the courts decision .....

No ... they are not actively trying to hide anything ......

BTW PB is where the box was found in a closet however that may be fake news, it may have been a sealed box of provisional ballot supplies, not actual ballots. I kinda believe this to be the case ... however PB is where poll workers where caught filling out "replacement" ballots in a private room with no observers ... there are 15000 more votes cast in PB than ballots reported ...

@Orangeman - I woulda thought after the 2000 election the officials would have counting votes down cold -1,2,3....WTF??? ;(:00008172:

In Broward county and a to a lesser extent Palm Beach the count isn't not how many votes where cast... it's how many do we need to win ....

I mentioned the problems had already started in my morning after the election post ..... X/

This lies in the lap of two officials who should have been removed a long time ago.

Simple fact state elections laws have been broken, early and mail ballots where required to be counted and uploaded within 30 minuted of poles closing - still not done, new ballots where filled out in both counties to replace "damaged" or "unclear" submissions in private without party observers per state law, and vote tally's (total number of votes cast/counted/to be counted) have been changing since poles closed and the records have been spirited away with refusals to allow inspection, another violation of state law. They can't even answer how many ballots where cast, the very first priority of their job ......

Judge just ruled in favor of Scott and Broward has until 7pm tonight to turn over all records for inspection and reproduction with open ended further action .....

And just like that Rosenstein is no longer overseeing the Russian Collusion investigation.

    .

Since its wrapping up anyway wouldn't it be sweet revenge to announce later tonight, after their meeting, that Rosenstein is being left to oversee the Special Council to its conclusion ..... of course after enough time has gone by to make certain Schiff heads look like idiots for mouthing off before knowing the facts.....again.....

Honestly the Dems winning the house makes Trumps chance of reelection better. Now if nothing gets done he has someone to blame.

    .

Republicans lost the House because they failed (mostly/so far) on health care after running on it for so long .... the Democrats put all/most of their eggs in this same basket this cycle saying if we give it back to them they WILL fix it .....

They have two years, if they don't do something big they will guarantee his re-election and give back the House in 2020 .....

Can't wait for the Speaker fight ....

    Got 'em all .....

    FL did its part ......

In state kept the Governors house, Senate, and AG, AGR, CFO, .....

Fed gained a Senator, kept our local rep, and FL only lost two reps in the Miami area as expected but by very slim margins ....

For our state it went as well as we could have asked .....

Need to get rid of our local Supervisor of Elections like yesterday though ... things didn't go the way she wanted so our local election results are not updated online ....she did the same in '16 ..... ridiculous that locals need to search to find out what happened .....

I lost my Senator pick, that's what I get for voting Republican.

Irrespective of party (as you know substance means more than party) kudos to you for making the better choice, he did well and I hope he keeps at it ..... he would be an asset to all of us even outside of your state ....

    ......

Maybe all the Dems should try this - I’ll buy Pelosi, Schumer, and Waters a can :00008172:

Buddy of mine challenged him and 11 of his friends to a challenge ......

50 foot hallway, they can all have as many cans of pepper spray as they like, him with a paintball gun ..... if he can hit them all before they stop him Levi never runs for another office ...

My Buddy never heard back from Levi's campaign ......

Interesting, the swing arm holds the weight of the SlingShot just fine normally, a jack under the swing arm with a cradle or buffer, (2X4?), should not create any excessive stress I would not think?Bill

Best practice is to avoid it altogether its not designed to carry weight in that manner.........

    .

So putting a jack or Jack stands under the swing arm will not affect the adjusting of the swing arm?????

    .

As to your original question no you will not lift the rear of the slingshot when you torque everything down.

The swing-arm is relatively thin hollow cast aluminum ... never place a jack or jack stand directly under any part of the swing-arm unless it is only to hold the weight of the swing-arm itself.

When supporting the weight of the Slingshot support it only under the frame, and preferably at the corners where several frame tubes meet.

To adjust the belt tension there is no need to jack up the rear of the SLingshot at all, it can be left completely on the ground.... if you want you can use a jack to lift the rear slightly for access and take some pressure off the swing-arm when you loosen and re-tighten the swing-arm pivot nut but even that is not necessary. The angle drive adjuster bolt is accessed through a hole behind the passenger seat. All adjustments need to be done with the slingshot completely settled on the ground as it would be in normal driving. Even better with someone sitting in the driver seat and some weight in the passenger seat if you normally ride with a passenger.

Its a simple 10 minute procedure once you have your tools out, no need to complicate it with a bunch of extra steps/equipment, and IMO no need to even touch it unless its tighter than 3/4" or more than 1-1/2" slack. As always with the belt cold and dry.

    .

    My 2 cents...

The Slingshot right angle gearcase cover is a structural part, but it's also thin. This means that as the force is transmitted 90 degrees, lateral vibrations are created as the gear teeth mesh. This turns the gearcase cover into an 8" diameter convex speaker cone. This serves as a great impedence match with the surrounding air for transmitting sound. There are those who have sound insulated the trans tunnel and rear areas of the car to reduce sound levels to the driver/passenger. A better solution might be to find a way to brace the gearcase cover to either shift it's resonant frequency much higher (so that the plastic panels can deflect the sound) or have a compliant rubber contact to damp vibrations. Covering the gearcase cover with a sound absorbing mat would not be a good idea as that would retain heat.

    .

Combined with it being solidly bolted to an open tube frame acting as a giant resonance chamber ......
