from what I hear Trump is already working on it. I guess it is considered proper to get approval of at least one Senator of a state when replacing judges in that state. from what I heard California has two openings on the 9th circuit and Trump went ahead and picked two Judges that both Feinstein and Harris dont like - apparently this really pissed them off, but there isnt anything they can really do except fight it in the Senate - getting approval of a Senator is considered proper, but it is not required and as we all know Trump does not like the 9th so I guess he decided to F being proper

As I am sure you have all heard by now there has been a shooting here in California, a country western bar in Thousand Oaks and at least 12 were killed.
The shooter was an ex marine and apparently he used a 45 caliber Glock pistol with an extended magazine that is illegal under California law.
This is a very tragic event and apparently the shooter had had previous run ins with the law and was perhaps suffering from PTSD
First before I go on I want to say my heart felt prayers go out to all of the victims and their families I pray that God is with you and helps to comfort you in this time of loss.
Now having said that I wonder how my beloved State is going to react to this. The gun is not an assault weapon, not even close and the extended capacity magazines are already illegal under California law. I highly suspect that California will want to blame the gun - thats what they always do and I worry where they will try to take this
The extended magazine being illegal is just another stupid law so the gun control nuts can say they did something. A trained marine with several legal clips could have done the same damage IMO. I feel sorry for all the victims but also feel sorry for this marine who obviously did not get the help he needed and snapped. Guns and magazines whether you like em or hate em they are here to stay. There is just no way to know when somebody is going off the deep end. If the federal government banned gun sales nationwide tomorrow what are they gonna do about the estimated 383 million firearms out there already - put the owners in jail if they don’t surrender their private property to authorities. Will that stop the nuts??? I don’t think so. AGAIN - you cannot legislate mental illness out of existence!!
I still believe that the scariest play the gun control advocates are mounting behind the scenes is not to take away firearms but highly restrict or stop ammunition sales. Without a bullet - all ya got is a club !!
Back in the day when I was shooting over 1000 rounds a week and shooting combat competition with a 1911 I could shoot 3 rounds at 5 different targets and hit a stop plate in less than 15 seconds and all the targets were moving so yes a trained person or even a fairly inexperienced individual could have easily done that with legal magazines. I still feel they will never take away all the guns but agree they will go after the ammunition to try and control the gun owners.
