    3. I've mentioned this before, but I'll add it here for summarization, pulling the trailer saved our asses because of being able to carry all the necessary gear for any type of weather we encountered as well as we had a cooler full of ice cold water to keep us hydrated, however, the caveat to that was the loss of range between fill-ups. It wasn't too bad. I was reluctant to travel more than 150 miles between fill-ups. Only on one of the legs did I push it to 169 miles and at that point the last bar on my gas gauge had been on there for a while. The low fuel light had not turned on and I know that if I did the math, I should be able to extend that to 200 miles, but NAH.....those were good legs to allow us to get out and stretch and that's as far as I cared to push it. I avg'd about 22-23 mpg with the trailer fully loaded and cruise set to 83ish for most of the trip. Power was never even close to becoming an issue with the turbo. Even during passing situations on 2 lane roads going from 70's to over 100 was a snap so passing was quick....even with the trailer  , so thanks again @Turbosling for the awesome setup. Love you guys... (in a manly kind of way of course)

I was getting between 25 & 26 mpg pulling a trailer as well. I don't have a roof however, so perhaps a bit of loss there as well.

Damn nice having your own drinks right there with you huh? Plus that ice water comes in handy too, lol.

LOL, that sounds almost exactly like me when I bought mine. Picked mine up on beautiful spring day and brought it home. Did a quick tour in it, but really didn't get much riding in that day.

The next day I woke up to a surprise snow storm and found 6" of snow sitting on it. Thus, my avatar pic.

The funny part with it is because it is a Canadian version, there are no lights in the center and I think the Slingshot was just as mad as I was. Look at that face :)

Not sure what your preferred price range is, but the Piaggio MP3 series offers a little more stability for beginning or older riders and the extra front wheel also helps on rough or sandy/rocky roads.

Ohhh, I totally forgot that unit. Plus the wheels lock when dismounting, so it won't tip. A great machine and very unique. The Slingshot of the scooter world if you will, lol

    Hey, just a thought.

You need to hook yourself up with Paypal. Super easy to send you the cash then, lol.

Plus I can pay you right away for those Faceplates, lol.

I have the sort of mind that never sit's idle. I can't sit still on a good day. So when I have to sit I get crazy quickly. One way I found to channel that was drawing or creating stuff. I do it every day. I don't always make whatever it is I've come up with but it keeps my brain happy lol. I figured I would post pictures for inspiration and ideas for people to peruse.
Here's a start I was thinking of cutting some laminate to dress up the belt cover. And it just took off from there.

Oh I like that Red one in the group of 4. Pretty sweet design my friend.

We leaned towards the Honda vs the Vespa due to the 'styling'. The Honda looks like a bike while the Vespa has the traditional Italian Scooter look to it. Plus, the seat on the Honda definitely leans towards comfort if there is any distance required in their commute.

I bought my wife a Piaggio Fly 50 a number of years ago. My goal was to introduce her to "Riding Life" . It was a novelty and it wore off with her.

Now my Daughter has fallen in love with it and has a serious Jones for all things Harley. Well.....it worked for one person in my house, lol.

As for the 150 vs the 300, I can say this... The 300 is only a little bit more $$$, and while, yes, the 150 can go Highway speeds, the 300 can do it easier with less stress on the motor. Both require a Bike license anyway, so bang for your buck, lean towards the 300.

I just helped a friend price compare and test out the Honda Forza 300. And absolutely sweet ride that is very comfortable. Plus, no issues what so ever with keeping up with the Highway traffic and could easily join you on the road with the Slingshot. Ridiculously cheap on fuel too.

Well, I am a 21 year Paramedic. Started when it was still a "volunteer" system. 18 Years Full Time. We have worked a variety of shift patterns from 8 hour office & 16 on call, 10 & 14, and finally now 12 & 12.

Due to the attached on call, I have found myself decidedly stuck at home. Hobbies became movies, video games and of course, the kids. My distress time was the video games though. (Warcraft all the way 8) , 11 years now, lol) Lately this hasn't been working for me, so was time to change it up. That lead to the Slingshot. Now all of my free time is on the road. I expect I will be back in Azaroth just as soon as the snow flies again, but until that time, it is all open air.

Heh, ever since I have gotten my SS I have given about as many rides to the little kids as I have the big ones, lol. Quick jaunts are no issue at all in my opinion, but road trips, my only thing I would say is they need to be tall enough to see over the dash to fully enjoy the experience. Staring at the "POLARIS" on the glove box would get old fast.

At that point, for them, the side exit is really just another window. They need to feel the joy of the open cockpit and be able to see everything that you do.

As for safety. Yeah, you are not in a car. There are no air bags. But to be perfectly honest, looking at the build of the SS, I think a child in the passenger seat would fair better in a (god forbid) roll over. I'm 6'4" and can absolutely see where it would not end well for me if I was dumb enough to find a way of flipping my SS.

But, this is an old argument. Question, does your wife own a motorbike, or ride regularly? I have found people are less concerned if they have actual 'riding experience' than those who do not. It is a comfort thing. Ha, perhaps she is more comfortable with your demise than those of her children

    I love mine!!!

Good to know. Ultimately, I want the center two USA version lights as well, plus the LED upgrade. Would really love those 6 lights across the front. All about being able to see at night, which is when I love driving the most.

Just a thought to vendors, everyone who sells the "Canadian Upgrade", there is a market for the USA version too. We need the different center molding and the center two bracket mounts for the lights. If we want them now, we are stuck going to a Polaris Dealer in the USA and paying stock pricing. Perfect location to place a Logo in my opinion......Nice Bright Alpha in Red or other noticeable colors on the hood. A nice powder coated aluminum version would be sweet as hell actually.

    Just my $0.02

They lifted the pre evacuation order today!!!!!! Thank you Lord and thank all of you here for your support and prayers. It is now 42% contained even though it grew some more as they were able to connect some of the lines together that they had burned to stop the fire. So glad to see this! Thanks again everybody...

Good to hear. Take care down there.

In other news I'm getting set up as a vendor right now with rab. So I will be able to make you guys stuff with the laser. Headlight covers, stereo bezels, custom emblems and more. Won't be much longer. Pretty excited

Looking forward to this myself :) Can't wait for the stereo bezels, lol

Glad to hear the SS is up & running again. Making a trip to Alpha myself here in the very near future. Will likely need to make a few of them, cause I can't afford them all at once, lol. Good thing they are only about 8-9 hours away. Also, a GOOD thing they are about 8-9 hours away, lol

Won't be as Epic as yours, Slingshot Garage, but it's all about the ride, right?

Yeah, my experience is definitely one where while the staff are friendly enough, they are still learning about these things. Plus, waiting isn't really an option at my dealer as he owns a small older location where they sold a few quads and side by side out of. He has no room for a wait.

Luckily, Tim Hortons and McDonalds are right across the road. Time well wasted :)

But thanks to these forums, I will say this, I go in more informed than I do when it comes to my cars. I am usually bringing in news of fixes and stuff way faster than they are informed. Still waiting on my stereo fix though. Going to start getting grumpy about this real soon.
