I don't have mine anymore. I gave Mims a good deal on it since it was slightly used

As far as the engine failure, after DDM
broke down my engine we found metal in Pan, Oil Pump and Pick up. Excessive wear on oil pump and all bearings etc. I’m 99% sure the reason is 100% my fault. The metal shavings in the pan looks like they came from a drill bit. After taking pain staking care when drilling my turbo return line fitting it was the reason for the failure. I used gease on flutes as recommended plus added a couple psi by tapping oil fill cap so when I broke thru the block oil actually blew back on me, I drained and flushed several times so I felt 100 % confident I had a clean drill. I was Completely Wrong.
WARNING to all going forward, pull the oil pan and do the job correctly. This is not worth the shortcut as it’s a very expensive risk. A complete engine failure risk. Also I would highly recommend if using a builder to install your turbo or SC tell them to pull pan and confirm it’s clean. You might want to add that if anyone is going to do what you did in pressurizing the block. PLEAS drain the oil first or risk getting a 5w30 facial.

Do you release the emergency brake before riding?

Anyone have suggestions for us non helmet wearers? Would like to communicate with passenger and maybe take phone calls?
Sent from my iPhone using Polaris Slingshot Info
You could ask Mitch where he got his from

Does @Bigdog know?
Marco, I receive my postcard last week. Are you looking for a great deal on a slightly used one?

I just stated the facts. Feel free to make your own judgement. Takata airbags were known to be faulty for several years, yet they chose to put millions of people's lives at risk. If the seat breaking turns out to be a major issue, I'm sure Polaris will make good on it.

Sold as an accessory from Polaris, but it came stock on the SLR starting in 2016. The only difference is the seat cover doesn't have the SLR embossed into the head rest part of the cover
-
True, but for the next year or so until this set breaks as well, there may be a recall and a better manufactured part available. In any case, the seats today are better than the broken ones from last week and they cost me nothing

Just creating more public awareness...to increase sales.....I’m already doing that by riding as much as possible. Plus you won’t get reimbursed for gas.
It's not going to matter anyways since you said the world is going to end in a few months

If you get a flat tire, it's not going to shred apart like a Nascar tire going 200 mph. It goes flat and as long as you pull over fairly soon, I doubt you'll have any issues. The tire to fender clearance isn't going to decrease
-
If they replace it with the same seat. Won’t you still have the same issue. Unless they have fixed the problem?
No, they replaced them with NEW seats Why would they take out the old seats then put them back in?
-
@funinthesun that is what is happening to mine! But I didn’t buy mine from a close by dealership. Bought mine from a dealer on eBay ....
That does suck, but seeing how there seems to be others having this issue, it might be worth trying to see what your dealer can do for you. It's a Polaris issue and they would be paid for doing the replacement if Polaris authorizes it. It's worth a try

I'm not trying to derail this thread, nor am I saying that there's another recall in the works. But there might be an issue with the Polaris Velocity seats. I purchased one of the first sets to be released as an accessory part and loved them from day one. I installed them myself (very easy installation and did only used hand tools - no screw gun). While checking out the slingshot last month, I noticed that 2 of the screws that held the seat back cushion to the metal seat back frame were loose. I went to tighten them, and they were not loose, but rather the plastic "boss" that's molded to the plastic seat back had actually broken at the base. Over the next few days I went through a few options of how to proceed. Was I going to buy another set of seats, was I going to pull it apart and find a way to safely reattach it to the seat back, was i going to see if I could just buy one of the seat backs? Good thing I dragged me feet a couple of weeks. I went to my dealer to see if they have ever seen this happen before. Luckily, they had an SLR in the shop a few days ago under warranty that had the same issue. By then a third boss had broken and I knew if I was going to Maggie Valley I needed to have a safe seat. They took pictures of the seat and a request to Polaris to replace the seat under warranty even though it was out of the parts warranty. It took them a couple of days for an answer, but Polaris come through and authorized the replacement. They sent a full set of seats (all 4 pieces) and wanted the good ones and bad one back to see why it failed. I'm just letting those of you who have the velocity seats know that there has been two failures from the same dealer, so you might want to check yours to make sure you don't have this issue. I'm sure if Polaris finds a defect that exceeds their acceptable range, they will do the right thing. The pics below will show you what I mean by all this

Two lawyers were walking on a nude beach as they walked past two cute blondes playing in the water. After they were a hundred yards down the beach, one lawyer said to the other one, "We should go back there and screw 'em"
The other one looked confused and asked. "Outta what?"

What a way to start the weekend. Great news Jim. I'm sure she's going to be saving her allowance money to pay for the speeding tickets if she's like that at age 5
-
@Ruptured Duck, any thought on something like this?
I'd be interested in one as well depending on the cost

It's NOT Stormy's fault. It was just revealed today that she suffers a mild form of hearing loss and misunderstood what Trump said to her. He said to f_ck his erection, NOT f_ck his election
