Check cycletrader.com and input whatever specifics (new or used) and then adjust your mileage. Where I purchased my 2019, they have one for $16,999.

MANY, MANY years ago, I bought a VERY used Triumph Herald. Don't remember the year, but they were made from 1959 to 1971. Dumbest car purchase I ever made. It was Brit crap from end to end, but it was a SPORTS CAR!!! No, it wasn't. The shift lever felt like it was in a bucket of pudding. The ride was comparable to a buck board with no springs and steel wheels.

Before that, I had a '49 Chevy and a '38 Chevy coupe (solid front axle). I think I was the 3rd or 4th owner of each of them.

    The Sling floats on air.

I miss my old 1980 MGB.

...As far as the Base model, I assume Polaris is simplky trying to get rid of the GM engines they're contracted for. I can only hope they'll introduce a cheaper Base model using the detuned SL Prostar motor (and hopefully with the manual transmission at a cheaper price point than the SL) once they run out of the old GM motors....

That GM motor was a selling point for me. I can go to Autozone and get an oil filter, spark plugs and probably a few other engine parts. It's been around; bugs worked out (engine at least).

I'm good though, I have my 2019 with that engine and manual transmission.

Glad the situation seems to be working out for you.

COVID has screwed a bunch of things up. I ordered a limited edition synthesizer (unrelated to Slingshots obviously) before COVID hit and I'm still waiting.

Kev, you want to toss me a deal for a top, I would not protest... ;)

I've contemplated putting JRI touring shocks on mine.

When chatting with the guy from Lite Your Slingz he recommended the hydraulic shocks, but $800 vs $2000+ was too much of a difference for me.
Would a rear tire with more sidewall cause more wear to the front tires or did you change all 3?

I was "all in for $100". I still thing it's a great idea as a starter car for students or a smaller car for tight areas such as the city. Eventually the wait turned into a slingshot which is now my primary vehicle (for necessity and enjoyment) as weather permits.

Thank goodness I was lazy and never went "all in".

Don't get me wrong; I'd buy it in a heartbeat, in my laziness I kept seeing indicators that looks like it's never coming out so I held back.

I would love one for commuting.

For the longest time I was totally stoked for Elio Motors; and I think the vehicle has great potential, but it's probably past 5 years since the first promised production run...

    Website still up tough...

The radio itself will work but, as I said, the screen is small. I got my Sony and all the adapters and Kicker speakers for less than $600. Shaun at Slingtunes.com has some good complete systems that are easy to install. Do a lot of research before you make any changes.

Have not heard of them. Checked them out; and their complete system is up to $800+. ?(

There is a system on ebay for $199. It's a factory system for the 2015 and 2016. I was hoping if there wasn't frame changes I could get that system and make changes to adapt to my 2019, but frame changes is something I cannot overcome.

Hello! Was a member of another slingshot forum, but kept getting locked out of my account.

Question I've searched but can't find answer for:

Can an audio system for a 2015 or 2016 Slingshot fit in a 2019? If not can the speaker pods?

Can the older system be adapted for the 2019?

    Thanks,
