That is one lucky man! You are a pretty awesome young lady.

Now we expect the 2 of you to join us on as many Slingshot family outings as possible.

    Be safe and enjoy!

Thank you!!! I feel like I need to install a tv in the garage now. He's spent so much time in there today 😂 Everytime he comes in the house he says "guess what.....there's a Slingshot in our garage".

Say what you want but the young man who looks to be very close to driving age has had the biggest smile in all the pics I've seen...

I'm really happy for you guys. Now get your Sling on!

He's just a massive 11 year old....he's already asked how old he needs to be for me to take him to a parking lot to drive it 😂 He has a xbox setup with clutch and stick so he's just sure he can drive the Sling already.

I wish I could upload the video....he cried tears. Back story.....I've been really sick and dealing with some serious health issues the past year+. He's been amazing. This positive thing in our life was so needed. Thank you all....I couldn't have done it with you all. He asked how did I pull this off and I told him I have a family of slingshot owners that have advice me the whole time! Y'all have been THE BEST!

worth noting...the detailer called me and left me a message after he washed it that the paint job is blotchy and he can fix it for me if I wanted. 🙄

    Pray you're right! I'll keep you u

Pray you're right! I'll keep you updated.

Thank you for those words. I'm a perfectionist so this is killing the surprise for me. But, I know he'll still be amazed. Just makes me beyond mad that this guy ruined my wrap and is denying it. Zero accountability...even threatened me with a counter claim. He thinks I should pay him $50 for ruining a $2k wrap job. I said words to him over the phone my son has never heard me say before today!

Advice please. I hired a detailing company to go to the location my Slingshot was at (friends shed). They RUINED THE WRAP. The "man" is lying and saying it was already in that condition. We have dated pictures proving otherwise. The seller is providing a statement that the matte black was in perfect condition. Do I go to the BBB or small claims? I'm livid. I spent so much time and money to make tomorrow perfect and now I'm giving my husband a Sling that looks like shit. And this detailing company has the nerve to accuse me of running a sham to get money from them. My blood is boiling. Pictures before and after.

Sheree202 insurance can be all over the place and only a few of the companies will insure the Slingshot. If you have trouble getting insurance check with Dan

He is in Texas but has insured a lot of Slingshot all over the country.... Mins included.

I do lots of miles and am a little older with a good record and pay $325.00 yr for full coverage. And the only thing that Dan has of mine is the Slingshot.

I was with State Farm from day one with the 2015, but they for some reason wanted over $700 for the 2016. I have had insurance with them for over 50 years. Not anymore, everything is with Dan now

Just reached out to Dan. Statefarm wanted $750/year and I've had everything through them for years.

Y'all are the best! So I took the plunge and bought the matte black. Honestly, I was just running out of time and he called me yesterday. Said he'd drive it 1.5 hrs in the cold to bring it to me and uber home. So I went for it. I know we'll eventually have to remove the wrap, but it looks good for now. 12k miles. Pretty sure I overpaid ($14500) it's a 2016 SL. But, I pulled it off in time for hubby's birthday. Ordered a big red bow. Hoping the weather holds out Friday to surprise him properly.

Pretty eventful ride to my friend's shed (20 min drive).....got pulled over by an hilarious officer. Warned us that technically we need helmets in GA. But, didn't want to even see my license. Very cool guy. Then stopped to get gas and had a dad taking his kids picture with it. 😂

I did it! Thank you all for your advice and offering to help a stranger! This forum is so helpful and I'm definitely going to stick around.

Yeah, I felt like that too. He still has the original wheels too so I could swap them. I was like wth when he asked why I wanted a picture of the whole Slingshot. I just wanted to see what it looked like with the current wheels.

Just a quick search in your area not knowing if any are still available but here are a few

The one you posted in Birmingham I had my heart set on and it sold. The one in Evans, GA has crazy rims on it....I asked him if he could send me a full side pic of it not in his garage (since he didn't post any that weren't close up) and his response was "why?" ?( A couple of the other ones either don't have a radio or have a broken one. Thank you so much for the ideas though!

Unfortunately when I told him my price was closer to $14k he said that is much lower than he's willing to go. I'm going to check out the matte black one this weekend instead. He seems more willing to get to my price.

you snooze you lose.....you have to be prepared to jump...sometimes things are meant to happen for a reason.....

years ago I saw a van for sale in Virginia....I live in Pittsburgh.... I left at 4 am to get there when the car lot opened....I knew I was coming home with that van....custom high top vans in good condition with low miles and a 350 motor are not easy to find. It was a down and back trip in the same day.....

my plan was to take my pick up truck......it was all ready to go....except some punks decided to slash some vehicle tires a few hours before that......so I ended up taking the girlfriends car....which wasn’t ready....it needed oil, needed gas....and had high mileage which didn’t make me very happy.....it was raining so changing the truck tire wasn’t an option....

leaving the car lot in Virginia for home with the van her motor blew up.....I had to leave her car there for them to fix...which meant another trip to Virginia.....anyway you get the gist of the story.....

you gotta be prepared to leap on a good deal......

He had actually told me he'd bring it to Atlanta Wednesday so I was ready and thankful i wouldn't have to pay transport. Then he told me tonight there was a downpayment. Ugh! This is frustrating.
