Maybe you pulled the trigger too soon? ;(

Watching the weather now, and they are still calling for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Especially strong on that side of the state. But Matt, you're probably right, now that it's off the weather will avoid us! Lol!!
My thought was to just bag it early, so everyone can make weekend plans.

We will try it AGAIN, on Sunday June 5th.
    So, who's in, who's out??
This was my 2nd attempt at planning a ride. If I strike out next time, I'M QUITTING!!!! :00008862:

I thought long and hard about the two also. I really believe you can't go wrong with either one. With that said, I chose the Hahn CAI for a few reasons. The filter box has virtually no openings to suck engine compartment air. It has a gasket on top as well, to insure that clean air from the front is all it pulls from. The Alpha has openings on the side, and does not have a seal on the top. The Hahn is more "plug and play" also. The Alpha requires some cutting to free up the wires to gain more slack, and moving the throttle body. The Hahn can be returned to stock within minutes. It just bolts on with no cutting or moving anything. And lastly, the reputation of Bill Hahn is almost legendary in motorsports. I believe he wouldn't develop an inferior product, it's just not what they do. They put a tremendous amount of effort into R & D before offering any products.

For those that want to meet in Durham and ride together to the meeting point in Middlebury, here it is:
    Frank Ward Middle School
    191 Main St. (Rt.17)
    Durham, CT
Let's meet in the parking lot by the road between 8-8:30, and roll. Would like to get to Middlebury early to go over the route, grab a coffee, before we launch. Right now, there is 3 confirmed for Durham. Me, Paul, and Tony. Everybody is welcome!! Post up if you plan on meeting there. Al was going to meet us there, but I have not heard from him in while. I'll post it elsewhere also.
Man, I hope the weather takes a hard right!!!
Also, I'm going to reach out to George Libby @ Libby's Motoworld, to spread the word to his crew

WTF - three days away and the weather is turning to shit :cursing:

Ya, I see that, but there's still hope!! Could be just a Saturday evening storm, I hope!
I'm still gonna plan on it though. That's why I need you guys to PM me for my cell #. That way you can text me if you're not coming Sunday. I'm not gonna be on the forum in the parking lot!

    Hey Hurricane!
I have not purchased any yet either, but after seeing what @BONES did, I'm going to copy that. (sorry Jay!) He has the plush Slingmods mats, and then installed the Cycle Springs side wall mats. It looks awesome!! However, with that said, I think the biggest part of that great look is the installation job Jay did. He was very meticulous with the side walls, which can be a little difficult to get perfect! I'm sure he'll chime in here, but he said a noticeable reduction in heat and noise.

    Very Proud Day.
My youngest daughter joined us to become the 4th Razorback Alumni in our family.

That's a special day for sure!!!
My Dad was born in Magazine Arkansas, and raised in Fort Smith. Was a proud graduate of Fort Smith High School, Class of 1940. That class, was the only class that had an ongoing scholarship each year, at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. That school, was started as the Fort Smith Community College (I think that was the name) in the basement of the football stadium bleachers there at the high school. I think it's North High now? Some of the members of the 1940 class at FSHS, were among the first to graduate that school. When I graduated from college in 1980, my Dad and I took a 2 week vacation and drove out to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and back up through Tennessee coming back to Connecticut. While we were in Arkansas, we toured the Fayetteville campus for a day. My Dad made me walk out to the center of the football stadium, where he took my picture with "Home of the Razorbacks" proudly written on the press box in the background. We drove through the Boston Mountains, and toured the history in Fort Smith.
In 2005, I took my Dad back to Fort Smith for his 65th high school reunion!! He was proud to be from Arkansas, and we always watched the Razorbacks football games together, when they would be on TV. My Dad passed away 4 years ago. My wife and I proudly wear our ARKANSAS hoodies, and never miss a game on TV!!!
That O-line you guys had last year was ENORMOUS!!!!!
I want to go back there again and do some family research, and tour that area. I truly enjoyed my short visits there!!

Jay!!! Quit f@*#n up my ride!!!
    It's SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey bones did the wheels come in yet. Do you need me talk to someone or go see someone to get this done ASAP.

Jay, I think you should take Phil up on his offer!! He looks like he could break a couple thumbs and make shit happen!!! :00007956:

I have not seen to many Slingshots around to be honest. I am not sure they have made their way to the forums, however if you are lurking around let's try to get a ride together!

Hey Aaron!! I consider myself a Massachusetts guy as well as Connecticut, since I spend every weekend in Brimfield!! I was at Higgins Powersports in Barre for their Open House last Saturday. I spoke with Ronnie about putting together a Slingshot Rally out of his dealership. He introduced me to their new PR girl, and she has already planned 5!!! I plan on piggy backing a ride from Sturbridge, up to Barre to attend one of the rides. I can't make the first one, but I'll post up one in the future, and we'll get some CT folks as well. Please consider joining us for one!!

This is a picture of my late brother, and hero, Butchie and me. This pic was taken in April of 2015. It was the last day he was ever outside, he started failing rapidly after that day. It was truly a wonderful day for us both! I had asked Anne (my sister in law), if she could drive him down to my shop in his Corvette. She said no at first, because he was too weak. Then she called me back and said "Jimmy, if we don't do it today, we'll never be able to do it!" She showed up 2 hours later, and my daughter Jamie left work to come and take pictures of us, the Slingshot, and the Corvette together! She took some great pics! Butchie was a "car guy" his whole life! When I told him I was buying a Slingshot, he went nuts!!
I said to Anne, "if I don't get the chance to give Butchie a ride in the SS, I'm gonna have a hard time keeping it"
Man, did he LOVE IT!!! We had to help him get in, and we picked him up to get him out.
Butchie passed away a year ago last Monday (May 9,2015)
I miss you brother, and love you so much!!

I will say I wish he never crushed his phone, that was stupid!

He always destroyed his phones, that was documented. I don't think anyone famous would drop their old phone in a recycle bin for redistribution. And if they are looking for damning texts, who do they think he sent texts to? The ball handlers in question didn't destroy their phones, they were checked, and nothing was found! The NFL hires a washed up has been of an investigator, and his findings were "there is a strong possibility he knew something" What does that mean? Evidence please!! For the folks that claim he had an advantage IF the balls were under inflated, IF, how do you explain TB12 going 9 for 9 and 28 unanswered points in the second half of the Colts game after all the balls were checked??? Or, his last season stats?? This is not about deflated balls, it's about The Commissioner having the right to impose whatever penalties he wants, for whatever reasons he wants. Even if you hate Tom Brady, you must admit this is a terrible distraction for football. It's ridiculous!

Last nights Red Sox game turned into a sleeper, as the Sox won by a touchdown!! However, of the many folks that didn't leave early, all started the chant "FREE TOM BRADY, FREE TOM BRADY,..."!! It was deafening!! Hysterical!!
We New England fans are passionate!! :00002047:
