@ConnMan and @BONES , we are just a few friends that keep in touch. That itself is cool, but there is nothing that makes us cooler than anyone else. Our underwear may match because we all think alike. We haven't actually checked. You guys being our forum brothers makes you every bit as cool as we could be.

Thanks brother, I really appreciate that!! And please, I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was making a mockery of you guys, or anyone else. I'm not like that at all. However, everything I said in my post was true! Jay was there, he feels the same way!! We just can't seem to get out of our own way trying to get a ride going. I'm just poking fun at ourselves! All the guys I met from CT that are forum members, are truly great people! We just wish we could get it together. It's a big struggle to plan something, and when we do, the weather won't cooperate! So ya, we read about these great events, and we get green with envy! We want that, bad! But, we have our chance in September!! I'm so looking forward to that, and maybe meeting some of you. Can't wait to hear the stories about the cross country trek!! That trip will be EPIC!! I love all you guys, hope nobody took offense to it. I'm sorry if it came off that way.

@roadog1aj if I can make the trip, we'll meet up. If so, first beer and burger is on me my friend!!!! Plus I can inspect your Sling for smudges and dust particles......
Deal! This I can hopefully make... Depends on Hockey season (Coach), but I am gunna try to clear time for this one.

And for the record I will have California duster, spray wax and terry cloth on hand & ready to go :D

Jay!! Who are you kidding?! These guys don't wanna hang with us! These guys are cool, they have a Wolfpack and matching t-shirts!! We aren't cool, we're room temperature at best!! And t-shirts? We have matching "pocket protectors"!! We're a pack of mice to their wolves! We are a PATHETIC group of SS owners, that can't even plan a ride with the 5 of us!! The coolest one we have is Matt ( Publius), hell, he showed up at the Libby's ride, took one look around, nodded, and said " I'm outta here!" They do fast rides down the Dragon, we couldn't get out of the parking lot at Libby's without a Police escort!! They talk about mods to improve speed and handling. We talk about dusters and wax!! I'm sure they pound shots of Jameson at the end of the ride, we sip Lattes, or an Appletini at best!! Hey, I'm just being a realist!! C'mon Jay, we live in CONNECTICUT for goodness sakes, how cool can we possibly be??!!
However, I am going to SSITA, September 14-18th anyway. I hope Terry comes with me, cuz she's the coolest thing I have!! I'm sure I'll make some friends, because they'll all just feel sorry for my pathetic ass!!! My rim is scratched! Just sayin.

I don't want to be a damp rag, but just since it was passed bu the House today, doesn't it still need Senate approval and the Governor's signature before it goes into law? Plus there's usually a waiting period, so if you're lucky, it may get in place by July 1st

Hey Phil!! Every party needs a "pooper", but c'mon, these folks are desperate!!! Lol!!!
However, you are exactly right. In CT anyway, that's just how it worked. They voted on, and passed it in June, and the governor signed it into effect on July 1st.
C'mon folks, just buy it already, it's coming!!!

Hey everyone, I'd like you all to meet Keith (in the wheelchair). Keith is a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He spent 11 years in the Navy, and loved every minute of it. As we all know, service to our great country, sometimes comes at great cost. Keith is a leg amputee, and to further complicate things, he is undergoing a complete knee replacement on his remaining leg, later this week, as well as his constant battle with PTSD. He can stand (has a prosthetic), but that's about it. In this picture, I'm on the left shaking Keith's hand, and my buddy Rob is holding his hand to the right. Rob is a semi pro bass fisherman. He met Keith last year at an event the Bassmasters community holds every year. It's a bass tournament for disabled vets. Rob participated for his first time, and was paired with Keith. This is a huge event. The local news covers it, and they get a good crowd on hand. They have an awards ceremony at the end, just like the stuff you see on TV. The emcee, a big stage, the works! Rob forged a friendship with Keith, and they stay in touch planning to fish together in this years event. Keith told Rob, he needed to get a power wheelchair, but could not afford one. He said his goal was to get one in the future. These things aren't cheap. Tough to get one on fixed income. Just so happens, I have one!! We got it for my Dad, but he never used it. It sat in our warehouse where Rob sees it when we store his boat for him in the Winter. He called me up, and said he could sell it for me if I was inclined to sell it. Talked it over with Terry (my wife), and another family member, and we decided to "donate" the chair to Keith. We bought new batteries for it, and Rob detailed the life out of it to make it gleam!! Again, it was never used. So, this past Sunday, our CT Slingshot ride got rained out again, so I decided this might be a good time to deliver it. I was not feeling great, came back from the Bahamas last Tuesday, and my ear drum exploded while we were landing at Bradley (wouldn't wish that pain on anyone). Popped some Advil, and Rob and I were off to the West Haven VA Hospital where Keith is. What an emotional high!! Seemed like my ear problems vanished! It was a great day!! All of you will be proud of me, cuz I drove the chair into the Main entrance where Keith was, and immediately went into a dizzying "donut", Slingshot style, right in front of the guards and waiting area!! Everyone loved it!!! Visited with Keith at the hospital for about 2 hrs.,talking, getting to know each other, and swapping our life stories. He's a great guy, and I've made a good friend. It was a special day, and I'm so grateful that we were in a position to do something like this! I'll never forget it, thanks for listening!!!

    I can do next Saturday!

Unfortunately for me, I'm gonna have to bow out of any rides in the next month at least! My weekends are jammed up, now that we're getting things together on the water. If anyone, at anytime, can do anything during the week, I can set aside an afternoon for a ride!! Even a full day if I have enough notice. But @BONES would have to go also. Because right now, my RED SS is green with pollen!! And I don't have time to clean it!!
If he goes, nobody will look at mine!!! :00008172:

I wish it was pouring rain!!! This little bit here, a little there, is pissing me off!!! Just enough to mess with our plans!! Mother nature can be a cruel bitch at times! Clearly, she is NOT a Slingshot enthusiast!!!

RI Guy, happy to hear you were able to renew. The two bills are H8276 and S3051 which are supposed to pass by 6/10. Still being registered/classed as motorcycle with exception to be referred to as an autocycle with exemption for license status. I will be able to drive as well. John has been checking the website frequently for updates. We are counting the days. Glad they decided to let the 26 alone. I know they weren't sure how to address. Looking forward to meeting some day soon.

I was once kind of in your shoes. I had a deposit on an SS 2 days after Polaris introduced it to the world!! The deposit was at a CT dealership though. Found out in October of 2014, that I wasn't going to be able to purchase it in CT, for your same reasons in RI. So, I figured it was just not meant to be. But then I had another thought, I'm going to buy it anyway, just to have it, stare at it, polish it,........
So with it being so close for you, just get it, Mom's will trailer it to your house!! Then, you're officially in the family!!!

Just finished installing Hawk pads on the front of my SS.

Hey Newt!! Are these the preferred Hawk pads that everyone recommends? I gutted my stock pads because they squealed. Installed a set of NAPA Gold Ceramics, which they said "low noise, low dust". I want to replace them, because although they work fine and don't squeak, they are dusty. I had zero dust with stock. So, if you would, could you please report back here after a couple weeks, and give us your thoughts on them?
That would be helpful!! Thanks brother!!!

I have spent so much Im gunna take the Jimmy Fund/ Ronald Mcd's collections and run!! Need Mods!!!!

Not sure what else to do?

    You should definitely get............................................................................................................................
    THERAPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Just got home from work and hubby informed me that that person we met at DMV replied to his thank you email about explaining why we could not register our slingshot. There are two bills that they are favoring on the slingshots and we may be able to register one in about two weeks! Guess Slinkings birthday brought us good luck! We are so happy that we may be an owner again. Wish us luck please! Thanks to all the knowledgeable people for turning us into slingshot people. Hoping the next two weeks go by fast. Again thanks for letting me join this fabulous forum and not banning me from posting. Hope to meet some of you in the future. Feeling grateful at this moment.

I personally GUARRANTY, we will meet up one day, no doubt!! Keep the faith kid, there are some serious vibes, shooting your way from this great community!! I'm feeling wicked confident for you guys. You're special people in my book, and deserve special things!! :00008698:
