OK! Now were talking! I will try this thank you so much 👏🏼 I just put my order in with Santa
I'd be interested in know the degree of difference you find when you install it. I to bought the sun shade also but eh large one. Mine covers the top third of the screen which is useless to me.

Just had mine off, 3 Torex 40mm bolts, on near the seat, one near top under dash, one directly below that on the floor, being a contortionist does help!
-
Awesome, Just ordered Mine!

Up here in Canada, if we don't ride in some cold weather we would have a seriously short season. So long as there in not snow and ice on the road and I have my heated gear, the sky's the limit!
-
Not seeing your pictures, but am interested in your report after riding with them in 20-degree weather!
I have the Firstgear heated gear, gloves, jacket liner and pants. Have rode in very cold weather on the motorcycle with this gear, so in the Sling it should feel like summer with little wind on you!

Yep I agree with you on that. I will have to fab up a plate with a space on it. to secure the other end. One bolt on the back bracket would not support the fender properly.
Hmmm, how did we end up in this thread with my fender install?
-
Personally I was not talking about a spacer. I was talking about a small plate with 4 screws/bolts to mount to the swing arm and the fender would mount to this plate. Instead of just having the one screw in the swing arm to mount the fender with

We are here for you. I have a 2015 with 92,000 miles and just bought a back-up 2016 with 11,000 miles
I'm never one to wait Metrics is working out a spacer for me

FunCycle I'm new to the Sling world but even have to agree. I have joined a few of the forms but the information is limited and old. With out a doubt this is the best fourm!

no offence taken - perhaps I was not clear when I said "if it cracks or something else happens" When I said that I was intending it to specifically mean that the damage was as a result of drilling the holes and weakening the swing arm
Also just to be sure you do know that the raised reinforced boss on the top right side of the swing arm that people drilled for the fender is no longer on the swing arm for the 2019 - for some reason they changed the design in 2019 - - - there was another long thread about this a short time back
On the older models there use to be a cable that was mounted to the reinforced boss which in no longer there on the 2019.

I've been speaking with Doug from Metrics through email and they have been very helpful. As far as another fender, I have looked at whats available and like, and need the Hugger style. With the Wycked hitch installed on the Sling ,some fenders will not fit this configuration. Plus I like the look of it.
FunCycle I like the plate idea as a spacer will have to be placed under the bracket to fill the gap where the emboss use to be, plus depending on the thickness of the casting I made need a couple more fastens to secure it..
I have ordered the fender and will update this post once i have it installed. should have it in a week or so and will document the install.
Metrics also told me they will be engineering a new solution over the winter months.

Has anyone installed the Metricks "Bolt-On" Rear Hugger Fender Kit for the Polaris Slingshot (Ver 2.0) on a 2019 Sling.
The 2019 Sling swing arm does not have the emboss on the top right side of the swing arm as previous models, so I'm not sure how drilling and tapping this will work (not enough meat possibly). Was think of using a self drilling bold and Lock Washer as a worst case scenario. -
Which fender brand is that mytoy ?
-
So any suggestions on a Fender?
-
well I put the side relocator from sling mods. Had to have room for my prop power. Works very well
I like that shock mounted licence plate unit.
-
Just installed the Wycked Hitch on my 19 SL, Now looking for suggestions for a rear fender that wont interfere with the hitch receiver. Hoping some of you have already done this on your Sling.
-
Yep, I did the same, picked an area in the city and pinned it.
-
Added my location, Great idea! I see there are only a few of us in Southern Ontario!
