    Wow!

I wish I might have gone this direction with mine those of you who know my work..

It would have been a lot less work getting a body to stick on than design and shape one..

What is taking me 3 yrs could have been done in a year...

If I were not 72 I might try and build one but not now..LOL

Sounds like you don’t know this way or that way and I know I might be kicked of the forum but you sir have just wasted money for no reason. You try to solve things before professionals solve things. The world loves people like you.

Hey things happen quickly and to many service places just do not know theirselves and they surely will not look into warranty or other paths to take.

Only to sell new motors....So just give a little consideration on what he has gone through..

We all make mistakes and most do not post for embarrassment...

We all learn from others and try and help each other here ..

Hope they have you on the road by end of week Scanman!!!!

I changed mine out last fall for peace of mind....

I got a call from the dispatcher and he said I needed to send $275 to the driver. I told him I have PayPal but the driver only uses Zelle or CashApp. I proceeded to load Zelle on my phone and get it set up. Meanwhile, the driver is upset because he says I'm wasting his time and he wants $300 instead of the $275 listed on the contract and if he doesn't get it soon, he won't unload my Slingshot. My credit union doesn't work with Zelle and I couldn't get it to send the money. Then I installed CashApp and while I'm getting it set up, the driver says he wants an extra $50 for his time. Once I got set up with CashApp, I was able to send the $275 and was told everything was cool. That whole ordeal was getting stressful.

So now my Slingshot is at the dealership where they're about a week behind and I'll be waiting for a call when it's ready.

You will get there ....At what ever cost when you get back in the Seat of SS you will smile again..This is the reason I purchased the Vanderhall Carmel..Backup..

Almost did not have wife with that purchase but I smile when I go into garage and see them both there..

My days of riding first Slingshot were out in South Dakota and first Deadwood 3 Wheel Rally..

I was out there with my BMW RT 12 riding around with wife and I dropped the bike in hairpin curve.

My fault for. I like corners as fast as I can take them..And I am a total asshole on 2 wheels.

So coming into Deadwood and seeing Rally I come across Vendor who had Slingshot there..

His name was Henry of Alpha Ind and told him we dropped bike and would like to test ride and

took my license and said take it out..

I hated the look of it but the lightness and control sold me..

We get back to NJ and within week the BMW was traded in and the order for Slingshot and

    Alpha Turbo was placed ...

Of course everyone here knows I did not like Stock looking Slingshot..

Within 6 months I was cutting it apart for first design change..LOL

But will add I have had some very interesting cars Panoz Roadster, HondaS2000, 2 Lotus Evora's

    and few others...

The quality these cars was much nicer than Slingshot and even My Vanderhall Carmel which I like but built

like shit......But the fun factor takes over .....The Slingshot especially with turbo and approx 290 HP and weighting

1500 lbs half of any car weight upgraded suspension and brakes and tracking width 9 inches wider than Lotus

can go through a corner with more ease and fun than any heavy car ...Just have to learn amount of

throttle / gear and the fun begins..

Some states you can set the pump to run automatically ... others you HAVE to hold the pump on to fill the tank.

I find when I pump gas into either Vanderhall or Slingshot and turn the nozzle to center of vehicle I still have to

to pump on slow side or it shuts off...

So slow and steady and gas goes in...

And like I said holding nozzle this way is little strain with gas hose weight pulling ..

But it works for me ...

What states are using these on their gas pumps?.....here in Illinois or surrounding states I have not seen any of these on the pumps.

They just started here in NJ a few yrs ago...When I fill the Slingshot and the Vanderhall I point the nozzle to center of vehicles

and little stress with hose but gas seems to flow better doing that..

Quality control was lacking on this order. The aluminum collar is held together by 2 90mm bolts. One of mine wasn’t tapped deep enough. The hole hole was drilled deep enough. I had to cut off 3/16” or I would have had to purchased a metric tap for one use.
the bracket was suppose to have 4 25mm bolts and 4 35 mm bolts. It contained 8 25 mm bolts. Had to purchase the 4 35 mm in addition to the kit. From the picture you can see the stock, purchased and sent bolts. You are loosing 3 three threads because the bracket is around 1/4” thick.

Well you should have called Dave and sure he would have sent another right out...With aluminum you should not cut off threads to make it fit..

You lose strength in part ..Should have sent it back or purchased the tap and tapped it like it was designed..

    But understand impatience at times...

I guess at some point we all go through a chasing your tail moments at something in life..

I know I have in designing parts and in the end take a break and go back later and sometimes

    the answer is right there...

But todays technology to us older guys is overwhelming ....

In my time it was points/condenser, A Coil, spark plugs or wires..

Everything was cast iron and very little warping ..LOL

And just like going to a Dr do you really trust the first Drs findings..Hell NO..

We will get to the bottom of this issue at some point..

Maybe time to change to Electric...

I know I would think that way if cost would allow...

All my driving is at 120 mile or less driving..

And know at 72 I can make it with gas powered but if affordable would go Electric.

I am waiting for Vanderhall to make the Model Indio Electric that I am very interested in.

I'm heading back to McKinney today to get my Slingshot. I went yesterday, but the trailer was just a couple or 3 inches too narrow so I'm renting a car hauler from U-Haul. When I get it back, I'm going to call Dave@DDMWorks so he can walk me through some things to check.

Good to Hear ! And wish you well with the findings and getting your sling back on the road..

OH by the way my Slingshot could Never Ever Be STOCK Again...I cut so much off it to shape it ..It's in the dumpster cut off parts..LOL
