It’s always...buyer beware....
If you buy it even if it’s guaranteed it’s a 7 hour drive to drop it off.....for repairs....my dealer won’t do anything without leaving it.....and if they have to order parts it’s even longer.....
I highly doubt the have a pick up service or a loaner SS?..
There is a dealer about an hour away So service won’t be too bad. If I did get it, I would likely take it down to them and have fluids changed.

I found a 2016 with relatively low miles in Dallas, TX. CycleTrader has several pictures that are clear. Only problem is that pictures don’t tell the whole story. I haven’t called the dealer yet, will do later today, but I’m sure they will tell me that it’s mechanically perfect!
Anyone here ever bought one without seeing it in person or driving it before the sale?
Dallas is about 7 hours away so it’s a little bit more than a hop, skip, and a jump.
Also, how do you know how to value it? I want the best price possible but I don’t want to low ball them.
Any advice?

Not sure if others have mentioned this but being in Mississippi and keeping your SS outside perhaps “critters” my be an issue as well. Both furry and crawling kind. Lots of exposed wires under the hood 😐

Someone mentioned buying used vs new. From what I can tell, there aren’t many slingshots in my area. I know of one. Most that I have seen advertised on cycle trader are at dealers and they are asking nearly what a new one costs.
I’m considering getting one of those cover logic sheds. Not sure how they would hold up here.

Mine stays under a carport most of the time, while I have room in my shop for it, it would get in the way of too many projects, so it's only in there when I'm working on it.
Upon advice found here, I bought one of these : Budge Rain Barrier Car Cover Waterproof RB-2
Budge makes all different kinds and thicknesses. I mainly got this one to keep the dust and moisture off of it that can be blown into the carport.
Actually...I already have a good idea what mods I want. Just from lurking here. I decided on a base model.

New member here. I’ve been in love with the Slingshot since I first saw one in an advertisement probably 3 years ago. I’ve been lurking here a little over a year and reading everything I can find about the Slingshot.
Sadly, I don’t own a Slingshot but I rented one two years ago in Las Vegas and last year in Maggie Valley. It was a blast both times! Now I’m getting closer to being able to fit one into my budget. This leads to my question...
Does anyone here not have a garage or some sort of covered parking? My cars are parked outside in the open. My wife and I intend to build something (garage or carport) at some point in the future but it isn’t a huge priority.
Should I hold off on the slingshot in favor of some sort of covered parking or would one of the available covers be sufficient for a while?
I’m in east central Mississippi so snow fall is not a concern but rain is.
