I'll bet a few jaws dropped on this one, maybe a gasp or two. Wonder if anyone explained this prior or after the visit?

This is how the democratic party gains control. Afford people just enough subsidies to get by then pick and choose or relax laws just enough to gain political favor. Started in California and appears to be spreading towards non-enforcement across all areas. Locking people into a level that's inconvenient to escape. This is going on in a section of Philidelphia I use to travel through on my way home from work just two years ago. It's not helping anyone. Harm and division will be the outcome for everyone, especially in the affected areas. .

Why is shoplifting so rampant? Because state law holds that stealing merchandise worth $950 or less is just a misdemeanor, which means that law enforcement probably won’t bother to investigate, and if they do, prosecutors will let it go.

Just curious what you have tucked away behind each of the seats? Are those seat cushions?
Good spot, Yes, they are. I look through the windscreen. If in an emergency I need to look over I can grab the one behind the passenger seat with ought stopping sit on it and I'm looking over the windscreen.

It's that time of the year again. Looking at taking the sling to a golf game in the a.m. It may get down to the upper 40s in south Jersey tonight. Installed my heated seating pads. Love those things!

How intelligent is it to drain the US strategic petroleum reserve? Unless you're looking for a temporary solution for a short period (elections) keeping a blind eye to the public. How much is this going to needlessly cost the public to replace, and it's absolutely necessary to replace. What a waste of taxpayers' money. It's drawn down for all the wrong reasons. What if a major hurricane shuts down production for an extended period of time? What if China invades Taiwan? What if Russia does something stupid?

Average price paid for oil in the Reserve - $29.70 per barrel

U.S. presidents have ordered emergency drawdowns three previous times: during Operation Desert Storm; after Hurricane Katrina; and in response to oil disruptions in Libya in 2011. Congress also has authorized sales from the SPR, particularly as the U.S. solidified its status as a global energy powerhouse during the last administration.

We have the EPA and USDA to handle environmental issues. Why in the world do we need the office of the comptroller of the currency to appoint a climate risk chief? My hunch is this is another massive overreach of the government to regulate how loans are applied to business. i.e. carbon footprint. Do you have energy efficient windows installed. Do you use energy star equipment. What recycling program do you use. Up to date building insulation. Do you recycle production by-products. Do you use safer choice chemicals and so forth. If so and a business can't afford updates or changes, no loan.

I guess it's time to come clean with my new 3 wheeler. Even though some of you have seen these before, this one replaced the one that was in Maggie Valley just 3 months ago, The color combo really looks neat in person, so I hope the true color shows through these pics
Pics as it was picked at the dealership up with only 5 miles showing on it, and as it arrived at it's new home.
Looking sharp, very nice ride Phil! Glad your back and riding again. Hope to see you again sometime down the road. Enjoy!

It seems to me much of this carnage could be cleared up fast. All it would take would be a statement (and action) on behalf of Joe. Something like. Achieving "green" goals is necessary and we will continue everything necessary to get there. We also need to realize it's necessary at this point to support an all-hands approach to energy needs. Were going to balance those needs as necessary.
Disaster avoided but I don't think it's going to happen!

I have been under the assumption that a good indicator of long distance market health is to watch the spread of the 10 year & 30 year US treasury rates. If they are even, or close it signals expectations of a flat economy. If they invert (10 year is higher than 30 year) it signals no confidence if the long-range economic health.
Markets aren't liking what the Fed-Ex CEO is reporting.

Not a lot of buying on the market today, it could be a very bad week.
I think everyone is holding till Friday with the threatened rail strike?
-
A celebration?

Sometimes you win. I was really worried about today's CPI report. so yesterday I moved my stocks into an ETF supporting Short Term US Treasury Securities. Very safe but also very low return. Going to keep it there until all this uncertainty clears. The rail system may go on strike Friday? If that happens?

Vietnam was a bit before my time. The feeling of non-support was tragic, when we owe so much. I was so humbled when I stood guard overnight when the traveling wall came to my area. It was powerful & moving. It shaped me. So you fast forward to today. Six times combat vet, direct enemy fire 3 times, device for valor. Every time volunteered, for what? My own government is pointing a finger and portraying as I'm the threat to democracy for my Make America Great Again political views? Where are we headed?

"As the Walter Shorenstein Fellow, Stelter will convene a series of discussions about threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the news media. These discussions with media leaders, policy makers, politicians, and Kennedy School students, fellows, and faculty will help deepen public and scholarly understanding about the current state of the information ecosystem and its impacts on democratic governance," the school noted.
