It's a science thing, ideal gas law PV = nRT, where pressure (P) times volume (V) equals the actual number of gas molecules (n) times the gas constant (R) times the temperature (T). PV = nRT. If the Pressure and Volume side of the equation stays relatively the same and the temperature goes down then the number of gas molecules MUST go up so you end up with more oxygen to improve combustion.

Correct, ideal gas law is simple, but it's application to engineering processes is rarely so.

I realize that cold conditions MUST increase efficiency in a turbo/intercooler setup, my question is more about 'how much?'

I suspect Few of us could detect ssy a 5hp change, my question is has anyone else noticed this.

Also want to hear from our vendors who have experience with many setups vs my own experience with just one.

So I'm out for a ride at about 30F, and I swear I get more boost in my boost during cold weather! FWIW I have a ZZP turbo / intercooler setup with no cat and a ZZP rear exhaust.

I was thinking that colder air is more dense, intercooler will be more efficient in cold temps, but I'm also wondering if my butt-dyno is off because I just haven't been riding as much over the last couple months.

So I'm throwing this out to the community, but also calling on Kyle D and Dave@DDMWorks...

Am I nuts fellas (hush, Tripod !), or is this a big enough effect that I'm actually feeling it? :P

You know that Hitler did this in 1935 or so, right?

It was called "The Night of the Long Knives". Unlike the 'Krystalnacht' which was about smashing & looting Jewish businesses across Germany, the Long Knives event occurred shortly after Hitler became Chancellor of Germany.

Hitler no longer needed the violence brought to the table by thousands of 'Brownshirts', (the SA or 'Sturm Abeitlung', literally "storm troopers").

The man running the SA was Ernst Rohm, a long-time friend of Hitler and founding member of the Nazi Party.

Rohm wasn't needed, and Hitler ESPECIALLY didn't want the ongoing turmoil of Rohm's 'Second Revolution'. Rohm was murdered on Hitler's orders - along with at least 4,000 SA thugs - some say that offucial number is likely VERY low. Many thousands more were sent to prison or concentration camps.

Short answer, Hitler promised peace & prosperity, eliminating the violent thugs who brought him to power was one of the few promises he kept.

Hydroplaning in a SS scares me and I am fearless. Lots of road, most, around here puddle up with a lot of water and it don't have to be raining hard either. Sitting low like we are they are not easy to see.

Counterintuitive as it may seem, if you are in the rain you MUST turn off ALL traction and stability control!

Hydroplaning in the sling isn't fun, but easily controllable - as long as the safety nannies don't slam the brakes on just one wheel - THAT can kill you! (Ask me how I know and I'll regale you with tales of going sideways across 4 lanes of interstate at 60 mph).

I'm waiting a few more months.

    Would probably have to anyway.

I'm going to wait for the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine. Clinicals so far are encouraging, without the bad side effects that the current 2nd shot gives many people.

The Pfizer vaccine has a serious side effect rate of 0.000003%... about 2.5 per million.

You are far more likely to choke to death eating a hotdog, and vastly more likely to die on your next Slingshot ride (May the Gods forefend!)

I have a 2019 SLR. Ruby is my daily driver about 10 months a year. I've driven in rain, won't do it again unless I absolutely have to.

I ride anywhere from 35 degreed up to over 100. I take my sling to work every day and I have a half-cover when I park there.

When it's wet, snowy, or below freezing, or if I'm going to the home improvement store for really big stuff,, I take the SUV. Other than that, it's the Slingshot. Work, fun, shopping, its great.

FWIW, I drive about 12K miles per year - at least 9,000 of those are in Ruby.

    You're gonna love it!

So I got stabbed by a cute college coed today...

They are using the young nurses from the College of Health Professions to accomplish the huge numbers of vaccinations required - so Tripod you will have something to look forward to! 😜

It was quick, took no more than 30 minutes, including the 15 minute wait after to see if there was any adverse reaction. The nurse warned me that one side effect was that I might become a grumpy old bald guy.... hmmmm. 🤔

The other good thing was that I got to go into a part of the stadium I could never afford otherwise where the sky boxes are!

They also gave me an immunization card. After my 2nd dose, I'ma laminate that puppy, carry it everywhere, and throw my masks away! 🤬

I have been taking the pills since last Monday with no effect. Spent a few hours in the doctors office today. Steped up the dosage again today. If something does not happen between now and Wed. the hospital will be next.

Prayers for you and your family! 😇

For all of my friends here who are worried about what Biden will do to America, I'm just going to ask you to have a little faith in our country.

After all, Jimmy Carter wasn't able to screw things up with his malaise policies that Ronald Reagan was able to put things right in less than a year.

8 years of Obaminable didn't horse things up so badly that Donald Trump wasn't able to put the economy back on track and destroy the Democrats "New normal" within months of his inauguration.

We WILL survive the Biden adventure. He's already fallen into the trap of governing by executive order, and as we've seen, you just need a pen to fix that.

Charging up is no where near the cost of fuel. I get roughly 1000 miles for ever $22 of electricity. Lets compare it to a civic...that would cost about $65 at $2 a gallon. In Colorado, it's roughly $2.35 a gallon now. So even more than that. To go the average of 15K miles a year...you would save over $1000 assuming gas doesn't go up and after the cost of oil changes. Over the average life ownership of the vehicle of 5 years...You would save over $5K...assuming gas won't go up. At $3 a gallon it goes to $8500 in savings in just gas and oil. Over the average life span of a battery...which is typically warrantied between 7-10 years... at $3/gallon...you would save $17K. I'm not worried about saving the planet...I enjoy saving the money in my wallet.

You want to compare further...the cost of a base model Civic is around $22k. The cost of a new Leaf SV with AutoPilot and Tech Package is around $34K. Add in Tax credits and I actually only paid $21K for my Leaf. Now factor in that I use my Leaf for my business, and I was able to claim an additional $18K in tax credits...which made the Leaf $3K.

Add that all up and now I have a savings of $31K + the cost of gas + oil changes + not having to fuel up in freezing and windy winter conditions.

    Worth it.

I recent article from Electrek said that in the UK, "gassing up" a Tesla cost the equivalent of $9.50/gal where regular gasoline was only about $7 a gallon.

The cost savings can easily be cannibalized by a high-tax socialist government.
