Harbor Freight has recalled 3 & 6 ton jack stands for danger of collapse.
Checked this morning, I got the bad ones.

Yeah... not THAT kind of vice, the bench top clamping sort of vice.
This is a tool I need occasionally, but there's really no substitute when you need it. I asked a wood working pal about this, he suggested I throw this question out to the forum.
I figured since most of us have really strong opinions about almost everything else, y'all probably had strong feelings about your vices as well.
FYI: The one I'm looking at is below.

So here's some advice for everyone, doesn't matter if you're a Bernie Bro, a Biden backer, or if you're on the Trump Train!
Make sure you get a few really big campaign signs - I'm talking the 4-ft size or bigger.
These make GREAT mats to throw under a slingshot, car, or motorcycle. Comfortable to lie on when you're working under a vehicle. They make great drip mats to put under an older car, too! I was using some to work under a shed this week!

I've got one in mine and we have 2 slingshots in our shop getting them as well.
Did you have to replace the ECU?
What did the price end up being for the dash, wiring, installed, etc?

Finally got seat project finished (Thanks dangerdarrell) Took us about 2-1/2 hours for the passenger seat. PRP's quality control seems to have slipped. Seat base was *curved* - it would not fit on the seat frame so we had to attach one end, then use wood clamps to bend the base so we could get the thing bolted up.
Once we did that and defeated the notorious 16mm right angle bolt, it went fairly smooth.
Final results look great! Now all I have to do is figure out how to hook up the seat heaters before October!
-
Doc&Ruby , did you the seat out with the base attached? I changed both original seats to PRPs in about two hours. Hardest one was the passenger side and the ridiculous Polaris 16mm bolt on that side. You should have called me Bro.
I'll plan on coming up to see you!
Kind of wanted to tackle this on my own... humbling and exilerating at the same time!

New PRP seats came today!
Install wasn't as easy as the 5-minute video from Slingmods indicated, but no surprises there. 1st issue was that the 4 bolts holding the seatback on were poorly made - had to retap threads on all 4.
Once that was done and the extra vinyl cut away from the bolt holes with an X-acto, things went more smoothly. Got the seat base out okay.
Total install time for first seat, 2-1/2 hours. Really looks good, comfortable, more room! Tweed fabric will be wonderful in both warm & cool weather (much better than vinyl!)
I did spring for the heated seats; they came with a wiring harness, but absolutely no instructions! I'm going to have to get a little help from my friends on this one!
First seat 💺 looks great... gonna tackle the passenger side tomorrow!

Looks like Polaris is doing a donation with a test drive promotion.
Hope it drives some traffic into the dealerships!

Drove my NEW 2020 R Miami Blue Manual 200 miles exactly from Houston to home. I was told it is the first one on the road in TEXAS.

Never since the forum started have I ever considered this...I’m very close
I joined the Block Party a few days ago...
If we can't vote 'em off the island with a petition (an interesting question for admin...) then the block is a very restful option.

Believe it or not, this is a commercial for a bank.
Its not about banking, or finance, not about money or savings. It's about dreams.
I'd be proud to ride with these lads any day. It's kinda how I feel about my Slingshot and riding with friends.

Happy birthday, Kyle!

Not a great pic, and I forgot to take a "Before" pic. But my driveway had about a 2" lip at the street gutter (I actually measured it). You could tell when they built the house that they had cut the curb horizontal and then poured the driveway over it. Funny part is, mine was the only one this way - everyone else driveway ran into and became part of the gutter.
Not a big deal with the cars and trucks, but the motorcycle was always fun trying to get up. And then of course the SS with those low profile tires was always a pain. I always took it slow backing in, but when pulling out, the front tires would drop over the lip and hit the spoiler against the street. That's why I never bought the DDM Spoiler.
Anyways, got fed up enough that I did something about it. Layed down a 1-1/2" pipe for water to run through and then poured (mixed by hand and shoveled in) 360 lbs of concrete. That was fun. Supposed to rain 4-7" next weekend so we'll see how well it does. I know that pulling out this AM was MUCH smoother.
Dave@DDMWorks - Gonna have to measure to see if I would clear that splitter now!
In my old neighborhood in California the HOA would scream bloody murder if anyone did something like that and try to force you to take it out.
That's why I vowed never to buy in an HOA neighborhood after I sold my first house!
Looks like a great concrete job, by the way!

Anyone remember the Thingmaker toy from Mattel? Liquid plastic you poured into metal molds and then heated to about 400 F in an open face hot plate, then burned the crap out of yourself trying to get the darn things out of the molds?
My dad got me a creepy crawlers set for christmas and then a fighting men set for my birthday in about 1965, I think. Happy memories! ...and burn scars. Lots of burn scars. This thing and the woodburning set taught me to be much more careful with tools. I attribute the fact that I never lost a finger (unlike some of my friends) in wood shop class to my early experiences with the Thingmaker and the wood burner.

Doc&Ruby is that a scratch on side of console?.??????!!!!!
where did you get them?Dang Boomer
You kinda freaked me out! Had to go out to the garage and check - it isn't a scratch, just a linty thread from the cleaning cloth! (whew!)
The mats came from Slingmods, bit the company is actually Lloyd Mats, Lloydmats.com - but as far as I can tell, they don't offer the Slingshot mats on their company website. Pity, because they have lots of cool fabric choices, sewn in logos, etc.

I will be doing much the same with ZZP's turbo kit sometime this summer.
I'm going to travel to ZZP & have it installed, though!

Finally got my floor mats installed today. Ordered them Christmas time, but adhesive for velcro needs 70 degrees or better, so had to wait.
Thought about using a heat gun on the floor panels, heck, what could go wrong with that?
Anyway, glad I waited, they look great!
