Bumping this back up to the top.

I just registered, but I will be camping at Kerrville-Schreiner State Park again, not at the Hotel.

And while I definitely do not want to take away from SSR or the event organization, I am going to head out a little later on both Thurs & Friday for my own rides. If anyone wants to join me, I'll be having breakfast both days at Cracker Barrel across the street and leaving after 9am or whenever I feel like it. Feel free to join me if you want. - but I'm not waiting around. I'm sure you'll find me inside or outside wearing some sort of SlingShot swag.

    • Thursday: The Three Sisters. Yes, I know the official ride is leaving on Friday at 8am, but I wanna go do it myself. This will be a more spirited (read fast) ride. Additionally, a portion of the road between Medina and Vanderpool is closed for construction so I will be finding a different route. Of course, we will be stopping at the Bent Rim Grill for lunch burgers & beer (not included). Please note that the BRG is only open for take out, but I'm sure we'll make due even if just in the parking lot
    • Friday: Daytripper Tour of Kerrville. This is a leisurely drive around town and the surrounding area to visit different places for photo opportunities. I'm going to visit all the same sites as Chet Garner on The DayTripper TV show. You will spend more time walking around visiting and taking photos than actually driving. Lunch (not included) will be at the Pint and Plow.

Saturday night, I will be around a campfire at the KSP, sites 321 & 322 (not river side). Bring a beer (or 3) and a chair for good times.

Okay, that's really funny. Mine just dropped off the side too a couple days ago. I had it up on the plastic right about where your right knee would hit. Figured it was the heat. When I went to put it back, I could tell the adhesive on the back of the velcro was still very sticky, so I just pushed it back in place.

    I figured it was the heat. We were 100+ degrees and 85% humidity - I know you're 110+ & 0%.

You need to get the antenna out from underneath the fin (it's actually standing up inside the front portion of the fin). You can either:

    1. Drill a hole in the front side of the fin to bring the antenna through.
    2. Relocate the stock antenna somewhere else, the higher the better
    3. Buy and aftermarket antenna and mount it somewhere else. (I tried this but the only good place to get reception was mounted on or above the roof.)
    4. Give up on FM and just run Bluetooth/Android Auto/Apply Car Play through your phone into the stereo. This is what I ultimately did.

Stock antenna is there - and why it doesn't work very well. I've played with it a lot and the only way to get better reception is to get it out from underneath the rear deck. Some people have drilled holes to allow the antenna to poke out through the deck from the stock location (search here or the other site). I tried just taking the stock antenna out and held it above my head and it worked great (telling me it's not the antenna itself, just the interference from the rest of the SS). I even tried using a different antenna in a different location. You can try to reach under the deck from the front and adjust the antenna into a more vertical position - it likes to fall down flat (take out all the screws along the front of the deck and remove the collars around the roll bars will allow you to get your hands in there enough to mess with it without having to completely remove it).

I was looking at these seats as an option when I was getting ready to buy my R model. Two things made me drop the seats. One was the price. When they quote a price for just one, that shows that they are quite expensive. The second reason is that I probably wouldn't use them that much (as least for that price). I have these kind of seats in my car and only on a very cold day do I start out with the seats heated. Getting in after the car has been sitting in the sun for a while is about the only reason to use the cooled seats. Can you imagine what a load on the electrical system would be if you had two of them and they were both on. You had better have your engine running to keep that 140 amp alternater going or your battery would go dead pretty quick.

Not sure how the weather is in KY, but I can tell you we would use the cooled seat A LOT in Texas. I actually got the email from Polaris and dropped at the price too. If that had been for 2 seats, I might have said ok, but not for 1. As it is right now, my $35 eBay Seat Fan Pad works just enough. And I can go through a whole lot of them before I would equal the price of a seat.
